Didn't they want it to go to unemployment benefits? So people who lost their jobs can get it and those with a job (work from home) wouldn't need it?
Still it would make people not looking for a job because they would prefer to be at home with a decent unemployment check than risking it out there on some Walmart job meeting people. But I hear Canada might be reconsidering because it's faster and cheaper to just cut every adult a check than to process each EI claim individually.
