shoha on pil for 231 is pretty low/ Maybe it has some element after all? (water?) or you have super underskilled gkt and no buffs at this pil?

Or perhaps there's a potentially large or scaling reduction, a la Formless Strikes.

if shield up and other dd's were doing 0, any other gk would do 0 as well.

It's underskilled, 386 including merits. Didn't use atmacites, no buffs and no food. It was just me and a Whm pretty much to test it out. I also used TP gear on the WS.

Dont think so. Shoha on Pil should eb AT LEAST 1000-3000 if he did 231 and lets say he was super unbuffed and its 25% damage reduction like formaless then those 2900 on elemental is what? 11600? Dont think so...

I forgot to take my filters down and he plays on xbox... so I don't have a SS to prove it, but yea... melee hits (his too) were doing 0, my ukko's did 0, etc.

he means the 231 would be because of a damage reduction, but I wouldn't go by that.. it was one weaponskill and we didn't have time to test kiku etc. before we died, took like 3 minutes to put up shield and WHM died too fast once it was up. :X

We can go back to Pil if needed... but the ele seems like good enough evidence.

I mean it could change it to some element like water and water would go through Pil shield but could be resisted?

But i guess its possible to do 231 shoha w/o any buffs and with missing first hit...

I didn't check TP return either, that could be it :x. Anyway, 231 through a shield is still non-elemental damage. If it was water on the shield it wouldn't go through, would it?

Would that floor in Apollyon (the one where each floor has a specific weakness to a type of dmg) be a good area to test this things properties? Not only to see if the dmg inflincted on WSs isnt in fact slashing dmg but non elemental/associated with some element, but also, if there is any dmg reduction/scaling as well?

Just looking from that, there's no damage reduction/scaling, since with the 2.6k shohas on the ele, unless it's only say... 75% normal damage, (in which case it would be a *very* situational GK), you're looking at numbers that wouldn't be happening. Especially with Sly's gear (no offense, Sly). Though I think Atoreis just said that... :x.

More can be done later if needed... I gotta get to the gym (*'-')b.

MY JP friend said that if you trade the GK to the Mog in your MH that he will buy it and cap out your gil.

I just wanted to add a "MY JP friend" rumor.

you could test on the Urganite zone boss in Abyssea Grauberg. WS shouldn't heal him in either absorb mode.

Easy to pop, easy to tell right away

I like this test better b/c a) we will be able to see if the WS does scale down or not/does it have a dmg reduction of some sort but most of all b) this NM is water based, so we will be able to debunk if the elemental properity is water based or non-elemental for sure, though im pretty sure its gonna be non-e.

Would be a somewhat interesting weapon for a couple of things if the effect is actually that. Not as good as it could be, but interesting nonetheless.

well, if it does work like this... then would it ignore defense completely? As in, would you have capped attack from the start and not need anything else? If so, Shoha might not do as well with it since it wouldn't be getting that attack bonus.

No, that isn't how these sorts of special properties work. They're not related at all to attack/defense.

Good to know, then.

Also wondering how it stacks up to TP Bonus Kanto and Masamune (85 and 90 I guess). Assume Mura would beat 85 Masa and 90 Masa would beat Mura, but since you can't 5hit Mura without uncapped haste, I'm not 100% sure.

Finally done with event stuff, about to test now using both the slashing Shantotto NM, Steely Weapon and I'll maybe try another too.
