I woke up just 1h earlier.

Now Im just falling asleep at work.

If I was working home office today I could sneak in my bed and sleep 1h or so.

But Im at office, so I either struggle or find a corner none is watching to take a quick nap.

Generally 10 minutes sleep at work are worth 1h of sleep in bed, but Im in a state where Im sleepy but also can get to take that fast nap

People in general do not buy a windows computer. They buy a computer. They may be aware (they should be but I have my doubts) that it runs windows but that isn't the deciding reason for the purchase.

As to the mac, a lot of people got on the mac ecosystem because they didn't want to support Bill. Then they stuck with it. Or, they didn't buy a mac, they bought not a microsoft.

Early on, Mac users were a combination of fanboys, people who just didn't want to use Windows, and folks who had a business/work reason for using Macs. From what I recall, they were generally considered superior for any video, animation, or graphical design work. The off the shelf hardware options were far superior compared to what you'd get from Dell/etc at the time. IIRC at one point you could get a quad processor workstation from them, something that wasn't readily available via a lot of others (excluding servers).

Lots of software engineering and researchy types used OS X also. The easier integration with development tools, Unix terminal, POSIX compliance, etc made it really useful. Keeping in mind at the time, a lot of the Linux GUIs were..not great, OS X offered this in a much more functional, clean way. At the time, they offered options for when you had to run Windows that were also superior, VMWare Fusion was way better than Workstation and Parallels also offered virtualization that was really clean alongside Bootcamp (after the x86 switch later on for these though). All this while you can use decent Microsoft Office tools compat with their Windows counterparts that worked (OpenOffice doesn't count)

They suffered a lot from issues related to enterprise management and software compatibility, but over time that started to improve. Lots of folks were on Windows purely because Microsoft did a better job with enterprise / commercial management than either Linux or OS X did at the time.

Gaming is another subject also, strangely enough early on (PPC days) it seemed like there were more game options than there were later. IIRC Blizzard released OSX versions of D2 and Starcraft, I seem to recall others. That seemed to fall off after a while, but OS X sucked for gaming despite their hardware (laptops esp) being better than most commodity builds you could get.

These days...not sure it matters as much, esp for OS X vs Windows. Most of the reasons people couldn't use it before, like enterprise management, have been resolved or improved. The Linux ecosystem (not counting commercial distros here) is still kindof another story for a lot of reasons, but a lot of it has improved also esp from a user perspective.

some of the big laptop brands have started offering models with linux distros pre-installed. that was not a thing like, ever. either mac or windows.

There was a very brief period ~2000 you could get a Gateway box with Linux pre-installed. IIRC you could even select the distro. (I had one). You couldn't get it with a CD-ROM though, which was lol.

Early on both my PC and my obsolete Amiga had gaming options far better than a mac. This despite the graphic handling of the mac and its greater processing power.

I might have hallucinated that. I can't find any links to it now, but I was curious once ~2007ish how expensive I could build one out and I seem to recall that being an option. Maybe it was just dual? This was 20 yrs ago so my memory is fuzzy. I definitely didn't buy it, was crazy expensive.

Either way, the hardware options were a lot better than other stock builds.

You did not hallucinate it. But it was not consumer grade hardware, it was basically server hardware in a desktop form with non-ecc ram. Was the first pro sumer grade pc you could get with quad cpus, and also had workstation class gpus as options. Pretty sure it was dual cpu though not a single quad.

Iirc people figured out you could buy the same hardware cheaper not from Apple and install osx on it just fine, and that's how the hackintoshs started.

My boss scheduled the meeting with the outsource team like after my regular working hours.

Then the topic we started to discuss was about an outsourced dev that was "unsure" about the requirement of needing a formal demand to execute a task.

I was already bothered with how this guy was overpricing every single ***he did.

Add this with his "uncertainty" of executing a non-planned task over a planned one and my foul mood of having to overtime, and I feel bad for losing a bit my cool about that issue.
