lol it works for a lot of people, nothing depressing about it
It wasn't the part that might work for some people, it was you implying that anyone it doesn't work for is lying to themselves. If it works for people, awesome. It's insane to say anyone outside of those people are lying to themselves. Like who hurt you? I'll have been in my relationship for 15 years tomorrow and we're both happy. But I guess that's just me lying to myself lol
It was in context of failing marriages and how people handle them. If its working for a couple to be monogamous then clearly its working. Why would I suggest every functioning and happy married couple do something they dont need? .
Clearly they werent as happy as your relationship and I was giving my opinion like anyone else.
It's ironic that multi-partner is the most optimal config, because no one person can give you everything you need. And it's foolish to limit your life to one other.
But of course humans have to human so they come up with reasons why that's not the way it's supposed to be.
(In what should be no surprise, it's mostly money ((insurance, weddings, houses)) and largely stupidity ((religion, faux "morality", brain chemistry)))
Plus of course women are ***. irritating. Who in their right mind wants more of them around!
This is why sex workers are the best people for men to cheat with if they have to
What in the dysfunctional *** *** kind of takes are going on in here? There's never a need to cheat. If a relationship is that bad break up. Holy ***what is wrong with you people.
because no one person can give you everything you need
Okay there's a whole lot of real emotional damage on the last two pages, but this point in particular sticks out.
You aren't supposed to get everything you need from anyone. A healthy relationship is one in which both partners (or all of them, if that's your thing) are fully developed people FIRST, and the relationship(s) add to your life in any number of happy and special ways. They are not "filling in gaps".
If your goal in a relationship is for someone else to fix some piece of you or fulfill some emotional need, you probably aren't emotionally healthy enough for one. Fix yourself first.
1. It's important to have a woman, who helps at home, who cooks from time to time, cleans up and has a job.
2. It's important to have a woman, who can make you laugh.
3. It's important to have a woman, who you can trust and who doesn't lie to you.
4. It's important to have a woman, who is good in bed and who likes to be with you.
5. It's very, very important that these four women do not know each other.
The old timey stuff never works in my opinion, most have lied to themselves
Like, I have genuine concerns for y'all. Love yourselves, and be happy, and you'll find something out there if you want it. The notion that we're all just libidos with debit cards is horrifying and bleak.
Have to have an open relationship or one that you only play together with others. That way it cant get bored, which is usually what happens. The old timey stuff never works in my opinion, most have lied to themselves.
Boredom is not what kills most marriages. In my case I had a few kids and now boredom is the least of my worries. Maybe in a decade and a half my wife and I can have the privilege of being bored again.
Oh it's boredom all right just not of the sexual kind. The Grass is Greener mentality is what causes so many folks to file in the first place thinking they can easily replace the spouse with "something better" or to "live their best lives".
Everyone cheats, humans are not designed for monogamy.
They may not do it literally (physically), but every one does it. Of course, unless you accept that it's fact and don't simply go with it because you're "supposed to".
Men are far more likey to cheat than women, because of how our brains are wired.
Actually, other way around.
Men may want to cheat, but most lack the option to cheat. Women on the other hand have unlimited options to cheat and merely only need the desire. Sex is a single phone call away from her to any number of ex's, coworkers or guys she just knows.
Or to put it another way, 80% of men are completely invisible to most women. The top 1~5% of men get almost all the sexual attention, with the other ~15% getting whatever the top dudes don't get. Bottom 80% of largely invisible, I believe you just referenced them earlier with your derogatory term "incel". More women cheat, but they are all cheating with the same dude.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
