To change the subject from our failures back to SE's - It's 10 Oct, do we know which subset of "Winds of Change" campaign is active for phase one? Do we just go discover it? Is that now part of the fun?

Start on doing it in earnest. Begin the final push. Chill out guy, geez.

There's a combination of ways the time-gating can cause frustration. It's not solely about something taking 6+ months to do.

I believe if there was no cap on imprimaturs, you would see fewer complaints about it taking 6+ months to complete an ergon. They would stack up after you get access to the content, and you could complete the assignments whenever you have some free time.

I think the complaint about the time-gating isn't just the absolute length of time, but the inconvenience of necessitating another task to keep track of for that length of time.

So, I can agree with someone complaining about the length of time something takes, while they also try and reduce the amount of effort they have to put into completing the task, even if it takes slightly longer.

I'm sure a lot were hoping for the amount of effort to remain the same (which is has), but reduce the friction that comes with needing to baby-sit the content (which kind of increased as it requires you to check in daily to capitalize on the shortened length of time).

Being magnate on second to last coalition and then having to start the final coalition
which implies you're getting one coalition from Petitioner to Legend, then another coalition from Petitioner to Legend, etc.

It's limited to only showing 4 of those slots currently due to a feature flag inside of polcore.dll not being set.

Do we have any historic memory of when/how/why it got locked to 4? Multiple people swear that it didn't use to be the case.

This happened a very long time ago. I want to say maybe as far back as 2006. I remember when they did it I thought it was dumb even if I only had 1 account at the time. I assumed it was to make it harder on RMT but that also seems dumb.

I swear it was multiple pages and not a scroll bar but I could be mistaken. The only time I ever remember seeing more than 4 accounts was at an internet cafe
it was a scroll bar. i vividly remember being able to do it

There's some combination of you reading too much into things and me not being precise enough in my wording happening here. Whatever, it's early.

Being magnate on second to last coalition and then having to start the final coalition, right now during this change, is bittersweet to say the least.
So you're upset that it takes so long, but you're also doing it inefficiently by focusing on one coalition at a time instead of getting every coalition to Advisor for the Bronze Shovel, which will allow you to shave ~two weeks off the 6 months?

I get two weeks over 6 months isnt that much, but you'd think that people who complain about how long the time gating is would do whatever possible to shorten it?
By enoch on 2025-10-10 08:58:22
Having done both the ergons on main prior to the change and now having a mule only held up by imprimatur distribution time on an Idris... I've been trying to figure out how I feel about it.

I would've liked to see imprimaturs regenerate as quickly as assault tags. I'd spam them and reclaim the inv space for all these upgrade items. Still, I'm happy they cut the time in half and lol shovels or whatever.

I think another thing they probably could've done is give a first time completion bonus for each coalition assignment. Whether that's "add five to completion count" or "double the count on imps spent for that completion"... it'd just speed things along without being spammable.

Being magnate on second to last coalition and then having to start the final coalition, right now during this change, is bittersweet to say the least.

I don't know what male is saying but I'm seeing a lot of what I find to be the biggest problem with ffxiah here - making content sound way harder and more complex than it is. You can have everyone spam absorb tp as soon as it's up without acting like it's a science and win every time no problem.

This happens every month with ambu when people make it sound way harder than it is with obscure set ups and plans that once you're experienced with it realize are all ***.

I don't know what this phenomena is but it's like people make things sound harder than that are so they can pretend to themselves that they are "good at" ffxi. It's really not a complex game when everything of mild difficulty is melee burned or cheesed (tp denial, etc).

While a large part of your point is correct, the discussion was about getting a very fast kill. Coordination helps in that regard a great deal when your pushing vast amounts of TP onto the mob at a fast rate, and everyone going simultaneously at once with their drain then waiting 12 seconds with no drains will likely result in a TP move.

While your criticism is that we're overcomplicating it, you're simply oversimplifying it. Spamming drain on cooldown is what I'd say is a good rule of thumb, but identifying when you can hold your drain because someone just did and the number was sub 100, or identifying when everyone drained and too many actions have gone off since, asking the team to stop for another drain, is what makes the team function more cohesively and efficiently.

When you're min/maxxing content these kinds of optimizations are necessary. I'd also counter argue that extremely lax and lower end content like ambuscade is silly to demand high degrees of precision and execution, while one of the premier endgame bosses is a different discussion entirely.

And just because something is very dull in concept to tackle (TP suppression is boring and stupid... I hope they don't do NM's like this anymore), doesn't mean its invalid to push the limit to how well a team can preform that strategy. Of course, it's brain dead to beat aminon... you can easily get a 10min+ kill having the DNC solo DPS and its super chill, everyone spams drain on cooldown, you always suck under 100, there's 0 risk. It's when you have everyone go balls to the wall and you consistently see 200-300 drains because your riding that line, that it's no longer brain dead

Our team has had wipes before because we were too aggressive on WS spam. The not-DNC's had to hold back a bit on WS to ensure sufficient drains were staggered and it's been buttery smooth sailing. 9 boss kill with 5~7 minutes remaining to nab the aurum chest.

So yeah it's not just button smashing, you really do need to spread out your TP drains and WS's.

There used to be 2000 and 3000 point login items.

I remember Login Points silently changed between login month 33 and 34... which is 9.5 years ago:

http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/campaign/login/login33.html
http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/campaign/login/login34.html

My problem with the current login campaign structure is it's either feast or famine. Some months you get delve mats or abyssea drops. Other months it's literally rem tales and that's it.

To further comment on Lili's.
If you know what slip it belongs to, you can also manually update the resource lua file, if its not already updated on Windower's side and pushed out to the client.

Well damn, all of this would have been nice years ago, all this time using guest logins.

You're right, it's useless now, might as well not publish it at all.
By Lili on 2025-10-10 04:14:24
Findall cannot miss any items, if an item does not show up it is because it's not present in windower resources, which need to be updated manually after each update.

This will happen EventuallyTM.
