I'm Rank 7, what am I missing to get Rank 8 I wonder? And what do you do with this "rank"?

The website says that higher master ranks let you put people on the mute list on the assist channel.
That's the only effect.

The Mastery Rank gives no special effect, it's just an indicator of how much content you have completed in the game. So for some people, they may like to raise this so they feel like they have done what SE considers worthy of ranking up.
It's purely for fun and is about self accomplishment rather than some kind of epeen. We never really had a reason to do all the side quests other than sheer boredom, so I guess it's some kind of motivation. I'm surprised it took this long to implement a ranking of this nature. From the looks of it, I think the side quests and levels of fame play a big part in this. I bet if I were to focus on raising fame I'd get level 6. RoE objectives do not seem to be a factor, of if they are it's negligible.

So what's the currently obtainable max rank, 8 I guess?
Rank 5 with 307 RoEs, all missions, all addons, ygnas, captain. Should be max fame in all nations but not abyssea. Killed Provence Watcher. Trying to think of other random non-roe things I've done.

Is there anyone with rank 7 without dyna div completed?
I'm Rank 5 with 448 RoE done. all missions done outside of Bastok and Addons. no Ygnas. Max fame in all places + aby. Have not killed Provenence watcher.
Supposing it helps with the data gathering, here's about my rank 7:
Max Rank in all cities Done all missions of all expansions, mini exps as well. Have NOT done all quests in zones other than Adoulin Max fame in some cities, but NOT all Max fame in 3 or 4 aby zones, but NOT all Got all vorseals in Escha zones (HP one is 9/11 only though) Done/killed all content, past content as well Around 700 RoEs done (bit less actually, if I recall)

Didn’t check my rank but will tomorrow. Also, on the verge of legend in all coalitions. Will compare before and after to see if that’s a weighty threshold.

No, it seems automatic, even my fresh mules have it.

You are probably using an outdated Xiview mod, ppl should stop installing old versions with every update, if the ui reverts to original after an update its mainly cause they changed something, so installing an old one is goin to create issues.

On a side note: Has anyone here with Rank 7 done the Vanaversary RoE's? I haven't touched a single one and I've refused to for a long time now.

I'm rank 6 and the only glaring difference I can find between myself and Rank 7s are RoE complete.

For instance, I am rank 6 and I am unable to unlock mentor because I do not have enough overall objectives complete. Such as fame, combat, content. All missions complete/ mission roes Captain rank Coalitions, ygnas siren Max fame rank in most places Not all fame roes complete Not much craft progress No master trials Not all wave 3 Need to confirm but I believe I am at 389 or 489 completed roes.

Mentor License didn't need specific total overall objectives completed, just 20+ combat(wide), 40+ combat(region), 30+ content, 10+ achievements done. So Should be able to get Mentor status with just those 100 RoE(and the playtime).

I don't think crafting does anything, there are people with rank 6 and not much crafting. But it should be easy to check since a lot of people out there have 110 mules w/ nothing else done on em. They all have same progression in terms of missions, a small variation regarding RoE quests and coalition.
Now that you mentioned, that rank 2 has the craft, plus progression in the mog garden/rearing as im working, only her, to get ygnas and ring+1. So either crafts or mog garden/rearing I think we should compare records of eminence objectives completed. Not the total, but rather the amount of permently completable objectives.
Anyway for guildwork to do this? Similarly to when abyssea came out and all atmas were reviewable in the auction house profile. |
