While interesting your opinions do not reflect those of the legal experts or the law.

11 CFR 110.20. Section (b)

Quote:
Contributions and donations by foreign nationals in connection with elections. A foreign national shall not, directly or indirectly, make a contribution or a donation of money or other thing of value, or expressly or impliedly promise to make a contribution or a donation, in connection with any Federal, State, or local election.,,,

(g) Solicitation, acceptance, or receipt of contributions and donations from foreign nationals. No person shall knowingly solicit, accept, or receive from a foreign national any contribution or donation prohibited by paragraphs (b) through (d) of this section.

(h) Providing substantial assistance.

(1) No person shall knowingly provide substantial assistance in the solicitation, making, acceptance, or receipt of a contribution or donation prohibited by paragraphs (b) through (d), and (g) of this section.

The concept of Solicitation is a *** in this situation

Huh... this makes zero sense...

What solicitation? Trump JR was the solicitee not the solicitor.

Now your just making ***up.
Probably shouldn't tell him this then.

Cause, you know, it destroys his only argument....

The emails were forwarded to a then Trump Campaign manager (Manafort), and a current senior adviser (Kushner) who both attended and were knowingly being solicited.

Would love to see you guys argue against laws like "solicitation of an 'X' " is not a crime because there was nothing received or obtained, in a court of law.

Again your ignorant as ***...

It's not a crime to be solicited. It's not even a crime to solicit someone, as all those Amyway and door to door salesmen can attest.

The only way to break that law would of been for Trump JR to solicit the Russians for material assistance. He didn't do that, in fact there is ample evidence that the exact opposite happened, they solicited him.

I find it funny how some people quote the law implying a specific case of lawlessness against a certain candidate, but when the exact same situation applies to the other candidate, those same people are very silent on it, or in some cases, defend the lawlessness....
Lol ya! Too bad none of these things apply to DJT. Too bad for libs they DO apply to the clinton campaign.

I hate to say it, but at most, it's not looking like much more than an ethical failing for failure to disclose this information to the FBI when a Russian Lawyer tied to the Kremlin claimed to have damaging information on Hillary Clinton.

Without pouring through the information extensively ourselves, we can't by any right claim treason or that a crime took place - that is what investigations are for, and what the special prosecutor is for.

Most Center Left, and Center Right leaning folks, which make up the majority of the country, tend to know this, and are typically the most well informed/up to date, as they check not only MSM, but independent media outlets (which I've been finding to a better job at reporting than MSM on either side)

Even then, it was one meeting, and nothing came out of it.

Nice thing about these disclosure laws, something that people seem to ignore or forget, is that you have to disclose meetings that something material came from it. Otherwise, you would have to disclose every single incidental meeting you have ever made in your life or "break" the law.

The types of meetings this law is targeting are those that have material matters at hand. This is not material, and even if the lawyer was "lobbying" the removal of a law, Trump Jr. wasn't the best person to go to in this case. Hell, Trump wasn't the best source, and at the time of the meeting, he wasn't even supposed to win in the eyes of the world.

I would love for the liberals to state that something material was exchanged in this meeting. Good luck proving it.

Only Trump Jr. is claiming nothing came of the meeting. Not sure why that would be accepted as true given how his entire story of the meeting has changed constantly since it came up.

And until presented otherwise, it is the only statement regarding this.

What do you want, Putin to come out in the public admitting that this was the smoking gun meeting for collusion? That this was the start of the whole Trump/Russia collusion crap?

Keep thinking that, but in this reality, that's not the case. You can't even state what the criminality of this meeting is, much less any "impeachable offence."

We know you aren't stating this whole affair is nothing. It's one of the last straws of "collusion" you have left to grasp.

The sooner you get over the fact that Trump won, the sooner you can get on with your life (and also to escape that alternate reality you so dearly hold onto).

Seriously, you can't make this ***up

If that's a treasonous event, attending a meeting with a Russian lawyer, how many talking heads would explode if they got all of those meetings that Clinton had with the Russians? Or any of the other hundreds of people who, for a small down payment of $8 million dollars, can see SoS Clinton for just about anything!

Well that was a terrible analogy. Stings still require the person to actually do something illegal or they can't be charged.

Protip: Trump Jr. won't be charged, no matter how a bunch of FFXIAH non-lawyers interpret the law.

This is another case where the story is being kept alive by the subject constantly changing his story.

Had Tjr stated what we now know at first, long ago while applying for his security clearance, This wouldn't even be a nothingburger. It would be overlooked in the mist of time.

But every time he opens his mouth the story shifts and each shift gets the story fresh legs.

Tjr really is a chip off his dad's block.

Well Jr will get his chance to settle on one story when he testifies to Congress. Until then just enjoy the free entertainment as conservatives try and fail to spin it away.

Again, it was an incidental meeting, one that nothing was exchanged except for a waste of time.

Disclosure forms only require material disclosures. Otherwise, anyone in government would have to had to disclose their elementary school classmate's information to prevent any "future collusion" from happening. If you are going to state that this should have been disclosed or Trump Jr. committed treason, then everyone in government committed treason.

So, which is it? Did everyone commit treason, or did nobody commit treason?

Hes not changing his story. Adding detail isnt changing a story. You guys have no leg to stand on, he released his own emails.

All this after slobering up the "yoga schedules and wedding plans" BS from clinton's email. I mean its downright laughable.

Beat presidency ever.
