It's too hot for alligators in Texas, and that's giving illegals free food and clothing, which isn't a bad thing.

Too many illegals die from starvation and/or dehydration on ranches here in Texas.

Question remains:

How are they going to build a wall in the middle of the Rio Grande River?

/Texas Border Problems.

It's simple. Fill in the Rio Grande.
I'm guessing you never heard of the derogatory term from "fresh from the border illegals" made in Texas. We call them "wetbacks" for a reason....

If we're going to talk wildly idiotic plans to build a 'real wall' then I can fill in the Rio Grande, we can build a wall across stretches of nowhere, stock it with border agents, lasers, SAMs, landmines and spend the next 75 years playing whack-a-mole with tunnels.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and more humane just to take over Mexico then?

After we fail to get the tribute from Mexico, President Trump will order our military across the border sparking the Second Mexican American War.

They're going to build that wall. And they're going to *** pay for it!

A 30-40 tall fence would absolutely drastically cut down the flow of illegal immigrants crossing the Mexican border. If you don't think so go stand on the edge of the 4th story of a parking garage or something, look straight down and imaging climbing down the side on a rope or a ladder. The fear would paralyze most people.

It will be running through a wasteland that no American visits or sees yet just knowing that it is there will for some reason infuriate liberals living on the coasts.

Yet will delight conservatives who live in the heartland while infuriating conservative ranchers in border states who will lose land to eminent domain.

Cant wait to see the outrage when a multi billion dollar wall is defeated by a 200 dollar tunnel.
Question remains:

You forgot to mention state legislation would have to be bypassed. I'm not sure how many Texans would ever get behind this. It would probably be decried as government overreach.

It will also go against the Treaties of Velasco that still is in effect...somewhat, today.

No probability about it. It would be a clear case of government overreach, since the federal court system still has to recognize and honor most of the individual state constitutions and laws.

Canada still uses Cannonballs in our self-defense protocols. From actual cannons.

Try intercepting that!

(but if I get hold of a cannon, I'm launching moose steaks and beer towards texas)

Mmmm...There's definitely alligators in East Texas. Yeesh! Toledo bend or any outlet for the Sabine or Caddo is scary swamp-bottom territory.

But for the sake of the joke, give it a pass.

The real joke is thinking Trump cares about blocking navigable waterways. Just dam up the Rio Grande then flood Mexico when they refuse to pay tribute!

Yeah, pick on the old people. That'll win you hearts and minds.

(we're behind only Florida, Maine, and West Virginia in % of 65+ citizens) and Pittsburgh is the "oldest" city in the country with nearly 24% of its population over 60.

If you wanna stick with a design centered around impracticality, why not dig a moat on each side and fill it with alligators?

Why is it impractical? It is a simple and effective structure that can easily be electronically monitored. Being a sarcastic *** is not a solution.
