Going back to guns.
While I think that a ban on guns and repealing the 2nd Amendment is utterly stupid I do think that the issue lays with the availability and cost of mental healthcare. The recurring theme I've noticed with mass shootings is that the shooters were not getting, for whatever reason, mental healthcare attention when they were clearly unstable. In this most recent case the shooter's ex-wife said that he was very disturbed and violent. He was also on the FBI watch list too, so how the *** was he able to walk into a store and legally buy assault rifles and all the ammo he would need? That should have INSTANTLY been a HUGE red flag.
Despite having said that, banning guns is an unrealistic pipe-dream because it will result in a booming black market too meet demand that will put the prohibition to shame. All the US can do now is address the issue that mental healthcare is brick-walled off to many. That won't outright solve the issue but there is no real way to win this battle decisively. Gun control is America's 'Kobayashi Maru'.
I have no issues with the 2nd amendment.
My issue is with the established government that pretends to follow the Constitution.
All the while trampling on the citizens Constitutional rights to restrict the citizens rights claiming IT'S the only way to protect them.
The reality is no amount of government can garrentee your safety.
If we Had a government that followed the Constitution as our founders created this would be no issue. As every citizen had the freedom of choice to arm themselves for protection.
No offense to Law enforcement but reaction response timing to emergency calls estimating 10 to 30 minutes to a situation like what happened in Orlando does not garrentee citizens safety to any amount of butchery or crime that can happen.
If I was in President Obama's place instead of advocating the restriction on the peoples Constitutional rights I would call for the people to Arm themselves and embrace their Constitutional rights to protect their families. I would make it my purpose to educate and inform the people. For a well informed citizenry about their Rights is a more responsible citizenry that not only keeps the Nation safer and secure but also keeps their Government honest and in check.
This would be a clear message to those who come to our nation who take advantage of our freedoms with the intent to restrict our freedoms in anyway that they can.
Next time it won't be so easy,
We The People of the Constitutional Republic of the United States of America will show the world we do not cower in fear. Freedom is not free there is always a price we must solemnly take for it.
My thoughts and prayers to the families of Orlando we stand with you United as one nation your loss will not be forgotten.
