Oh well, I'm already thinking sticking to Dokkan Battle as Pokémon GO costs way too much money to be played somewhat ormally (between Pokéballs and eggs there are just way too many reasons to waste money, which I'd be fine with if they didn't mess with the game in such a negative way within a month).

You dont have anywhere nearby with a bunch of pokestops to farm pokeballs for an hour o.O? I got about 150+ balls in an hour just walking and farming. Yeah, I drive about 15 minutes to do so, but I'm not paying 11$ for 200 balls unless they were ultra balls. 6 for great balls.[/quote]15min walk minimum (reasonable pace), it's in the middle of a parking lot. There is another one that is equally far away and is next to a church, this one is actually pretty decent but I rarely have 1h to spare there. It's the best option, though.

When I'm at work, it's all or nothing. Lately I've had more work, I can't get more than maybe 3/5 per day while at my desk and due to the size of the building I work in, the GPS is completely unreliable (it often walks away as far as 2km from where I actually am).

I get maybe 50-80 Pokéballs a day from Pokéstops but I can easily use 100+ a day. I've had to cut my farming by a lot, but it has come at the right time as I'm hitting the Pokémon limit and while I've paid a lot for item slots, I'm not so tempted to buy Pokémon slots.

I'll just go sit by the church at some point when I get some time to play Monster Hunter again.

I really hope that the broken fountain in which that Pika-statchu was installed is also a Pokéstop or Gym...

I have just started ignoring pidgeys and throwing at weedle/caterpie. They have a much lower escape rate, and they tend to have lower CP so less of a chance of escaping also.

Rats are certainly a waste of pokeballs, unless you're catching everything nearby for stardust and minor exp.

Some people don't have the luxury of getting frequent pokestop visits, so we have to be frugal with our catches when we can.

That's very true. While I don't live in a large city, I do take a 15 minute trip twice a week to pokewalk during the night and hit the college town, filled with stops... I suppose thats why I'm always full. Around me, there is about 8 stops within a 5 block radius, so its not terrible for me if I do throw balls at stuff... but you're correct, I did forget people don't have as many stops as others.

Really wish you could throw eggs or 10km ones weren't so rare. My very first one was 10km and haven't seen one since. Got a Jynx from it.

At least you got a surplus of Jynx Candy. If you catch one and only 1, its 3. Count your blessings.

I've found 4 so far but yeah I got...30? or so candy from it. Looking for a Snorlax; saw one outside my house but let me tell you how useful the "Nearby" radar thing is now. Ugh.

The statue was placed on top of an old, unused fountain, and it appears to be made of fiberglass, with a cement base. Early photos of the statue also show a piece of wood that reads, "Hope you like it! Have fun in N.O.! -Sophie."

Already, the statue is attracting lots of visitors, many of whom are taking to social media to share images of the new "Pokémonument."

Since the statue was placed without permission, it could technically be considered an act of vandalism, but so far officials seem unconcerned. The New Orleans Police department has said that is has no plans to remove the statue at this time, despite having no idea where it came from.

Bittersweet news, but nothing definite yet:

Sweet:
According to the official thread, "06/08/2016 - 17:50 GMT+1 : We are close." and if you read below they explain there is a working and successful prototype capable of calling the new Niantic API, which means there will be a implementation most likely in the next hours (perhaps).

Bitter:
PokemonGo-Map, the most successful open source public radar received a cease and desist from Niantic and they are complying :(

Quote:
We've received a notice to cease and desist from Niantic Labs, and I've decided to comply with their requests. It was my intention to augment and improve the game experience of Pokemon Go, and we achieved just that! Without their blessing, I don't see myself having the motivation to continue this project.

It grew from a 2 hour weekend project to a robust 2-click server ready-for-deployment in a matter of days. The project has inspired ~5 million views (500k uniques), 44k clones, 160 contributors, translation into 10 languages, and a wonderful community all in the span of 2 weeks. It's also been featured on The Verge, Arstechnica, Lifehacker, Stern.de, Business Insider, and many others. What was most exciting was seeing the hundreds of online community-run maps in towns and cities across the world. Some coffee shops even hosted copies for their own customers!

It's been my pleasure to get to know each of you guys: the core development team, the contributors, and the thousands that have gotten in touch with me! Niantic, my offer still stands to help you build an official game map!

-Ahmed Almutawa

It's a shame, since I had this implemented on my own Raspberry Pi which allowed me to see the Pokémon in a 500 m. radius around me. There are and there will be other implementations, I am sure, but I was really liking this one.

Oh well...

'Pokémon GO' Eevee evolution hack: trick confirmed by Niantic Labs, here's how
Ecumenical Times

Cutting right to the good part:
Quote:
...
According to reports, the trick is to name the captured Eevee after one of its older brothers from the cartoon series. In order to get Jolteon, you can name it Sparky; to get Vaporeon, you have to name it Rainer; to get Flareon, you name it Pyro....

It is done, API has been cracked and published. Expect most/many of maps adds working in the next hours if devs get the fixes in. (On the other hand, bots will start working to, but oh well, what can be done? :( ).
