shamelessly stolen from Sylow. The amount of shamelessness I feel is truly nothing.
... wut. Mind you he has animator +1 so might not be up-to-date... oops.

Something like this
ItemSet 302005
hierarchy:
[Head:] Whirlpool > Thurandaut > who cares Thurandaut is so easy to get, go get it.
[Body:] Matanca > Omodaka > Toci's > Usukane+1 > Cirque +2 > Thurandaut
[Hands:] Tenryu +1(Aug) > Myrmex > Mustela > Murzim/Nomkahpa > Cirque+2
[Legs:] Manibozho > Usukane +1/Abatteur > Athos > Thaumas > Cirque +2
[Feet:] Omodaka > Thaumas > Thurandaut/Cirque +2
Feel free to correct me where I'm wrong.
Edit: vvvv
I get Whirlpool winning on high level Delve mobs due to the enormous Accuracy/Attack Bonus :S I suppose Thurandaut would win overall though?

I don't think Whirlpool is best for Pummel. Even though it has a lot of DEX and Accuracy compared to Thurandaut Chapeau, your pretty much just hoping for a critical WS every time you use it as a WS piece.

Should be best anytime you can make use of all its acc, but otherwise, yea I'll agree that there's better

I'm using this at the moment, and I'm looking for some possible tweaks...
ItemSet 270441
I'm thinking I should maybe lose the double/triple attack stuff since it's a 6-hit already... Possibly Vulcan x2, toss in a Pyrosoul, maybe change up hands to Athos since I had no luck getting Myrmex. Any thoughts?
EDIT: Made adjustments to my set which derped my first post.

Would Oce. Head +1 beat Thurandaut if you're using Toci's body?

I don't see how... It would be a lateral move for DEX, you'd lose a bunch of STR, and the triple attack I don't think would be too beneficial to a 6-hit WS.

People have to remember also that Stringing Pummel is a STR/VIT mod, so you need to have some of that STR and VIT in there for the WS so it does good damage even if you don't get a critical hit.
In my opinion, I believe that Thurandaut is the head piece to beat when it comes to Pummel, even though it lacks VIT to add to it.

It stated what they currently used, Toci's is acceptable for Pummel till one gets a Matanca Harness, but not everyone does Meeble Burrows anymore, need a lot of gil if you intend to spam the monkey for the harness.
As for tweaks, Omodaka feet beat out AF3+2 for Pummel. Also, probably best to replace Nefarious Collar with Soil Gorget. If you don't have a Moonshade with Atk +4/TP Bonus on it, I believe Vulcan's Pearl is an adequate replacement.
EDIT: Didn't entirely read what Azryel wrote, so didn't intend to come off rude. Sorry.

This is exactly why I'm going for the Omodaka Body - my Meebles group doesn't do meebles anymore, and Omodaka still kicks ***.

Omodaka beats Usukane+1 by a significant margin unless attack is capped

PUP doesn't have the attack of SAM or MNK, so using the +1 Body does no good for it unless you have capped attack like Sylow stated. Your better off with Toci's or Omodaka, depending on which you get your hands on first.

Nemetona Cap > All
Whirlpool & Thurandaut would win if you need the Accuracy only.
Edit: Reason being PUP ATK is craptastic, so need every bit. If you don't have songs, etc, to keep acc up, then probably do want to use Thur (make 2 ws macros for if you need acc or atk more). If you're lucky enough to have Whirl, then trading STR for ATK... I'm not sure... I think the STR ends up increasing dmg more in the end (neme vs. whirl), but if you need the acc then beats Thur.

The DEX on both those items is also likely to be doing something for your crit rate.

Crit rate will depend on the rest of your gear, but yes it can. I usually try to get as much STR & DEX as I can. However, with the defense update making sure your atk doubles defense, or at least beats it, will do more damage than more crit rate.

With content as it is now, it really seems like we need 2 sets for everything, an ATK and an ACC set (both for TPing, and for WSing). Obviously in Delve and Adoulin NM fights we stick on as much ACC as we can, but then when we go back to non-Adoulin we can stick on ATK again. Same should be happening with our WSing.
Example: Omodaka feet do do the most dmg on WSs, but on Adoulin stuff Thaumas is going to parse better b/c of higher accuracy.

Are you sure Omodaka beat fully upgraded (or even partially) delve feet? It's a pretty huge difference in both attack and acc for 1% DA on a 6hit WS.

Nemetona gets beaten by Thurandaut, Omodaka feet lose to Manibohzo but the difference isn't gigantic and Omodaka are almost free!

The feet are comparing 2 STR 16 att, and 10 acc (fully upgraded on path a) vs 1% DA. That's not a big diff for pup?

With VIT being a mod for pummel, would you want to split your STR and VIT up? or just focus on STR?
Also, what are some decent options for feet, leg, and waist?

To my understanding it's a mod you almost want to ignore, minus the body slot if you can get omodaka/matanaca and spiral ring. You will need the extra attack that stacking more STR gives and STR is a mod anyways.

you lose 3 STR and 2 DA for 1 dex and 7 vit. Not sure they would beat mustela though maybe on day of the week?
