ItemSet 318190

That's what I currently use. It could use a little work and it's not really tuned for different situations, but it's pretty decent.

Sad day when everyone just cookie-cutters' someone else's sets rather than try to learn why those sets work and gear themselves accordingly. Thought FFXI hard mode ended years ago. For all your samurai needs, look towards yourself.

By that logic you're saying everyone should be their own grandfather and a professor in every degree normally without opening their eyes before they can begin to learn how to read.

But then again, who needs eyes when you have yourself.

For the most part, people don't want to learn why stuff works, they just want someone to tell them what to get.

Last I knew it was a minimum increase of like .12 fTP on weaponskills below 6 hits or something like that. I don't think multi-attack has a static fTP value.

The functional equivalent of fTP provided by Windbuffet varies with accuracy, number of hits in a WS, and the amount of multihit gear/trait you have.

Sad day when you make an account just to make that comment versus using your actual character.

Depends on weapon and cratio. For Masamune, Ejekamal will always either equal or be better than Whirlpool. For others, Whirlpool would be better if cratio is uncapped; Ejekamal otherwise. The difference between the 2 is minimal when uncapped cratio so if you just wanted to go with 1 I'd probably stick with Ejekamal.

Your attack compared to the mob's defense. Whirlpool also have ~21 attack over Ejekamal.

ratio is the difference between your attack and the target's defense (ratio = attack/defense)

cratio is the value you get after incorporating level correction (cratio = ratio - level adjustment)

My mistake. Regardless, the attack also plays a role in which is better in certain situations.

I haven't played since adoulin was released I see there is a bunch of new gear and not a lot of item sets posted in the last 10 pages for people without R/E/M is Ichimonji-Yofusa worth grabbing to start with and what is a good gear set to use until I can get the latest gear. I currently have some of the AF3 +2, and some other gear around beginning of voidwatch. Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

The Eminent GK is the best you're gonna get until REM/Delve/AA GK. Consider the polearm as well, it's your best weapon on piercing weak mobs and is great for exping.

If you're going to do any soloing get your trust npcs and possibly the eminence armor set because defense is useful now and sets with a lot of old gear are pretty much death sentences on harder mobs.

Work on Skirmish armor asap. Otronif is a great starting set. If you go straight for that, then save Sparks of Eminence for REM pages 6-10.

Shout for SKC20 fights whenever you have free time, all your Reforged AF +1 is good.

Learn to calculate your TP per hit / STP needed per weapon.

i've been thinking about copying the OP guide thread to a new one so that i could keep it updated, he disappeared many moons ago.

I'm not going anywhere til servers down anyway, might as well do stuff for our community. I would just need help from the pro sam's out there who do all the math and stuff to let me know when i have to fix stuff. Let me know what you guys think.

Would be nice to keep the OP updated. I'd have done it myself by now but I suck at making things look pretty and professional.

Since I feel it's worth asking for general knowledge, Unkai Kote+1/+2's Sekka bonus is only active while hands are locked, right?

I don't want to be wasting inventory space. :v (and lose out on damage).
