Nah we got this, so many people are coming together. That was the straw that broke the camels back and they aren't standing for it.

I'm not really worried, we have logic on our side. All the anti's have is emotion that gets drained each day that passes.

can't be bringing logic into politics/policy making, what are you thinking?

none...

honestly a noob, only got a 9mm like I did because I was informed the recoil (if any) wouldn't hurt my hands, I have severe hand issues, either tendinitis, or carpel tunnel or both.

that was before my friend told me that if I hold it properly all the recoil would be in my arm...

Ah I see I would say a .22 would be a great starting rifle I use mine all the time for shooting cans etc. Though a Winchester 30-30 can be a ton of fun as well. Not as big a fan of shotguns since the range is so small though I have a 12 gauge for boars.

Get a Ruger 10/22 to start yourself off. You can customize it to fit your personality.

If you want a 22lr AR then the M&P1522 is nice.

It's for real

My 10/22 in the Archangel Nomad Stock

(sold the stock)
10/22 in the Troy T22 Chassis

10/22 in Nordic Chassis/SR22 Rifle

Those are the BattleDyne 10/22 magazines by the way. I ordered 3.

I don't think that would be a problem for a Ruger 10/22. Most modifiable 22 lr i know of.

One of the best 22lr AR's out there. Sure you can get a 22lr upper but the accuracy on the M&P1522 should be much better.

With that triple barrel video, we just need someone dressed up as Vincent to demonstrate it.

$200 give or take, some stores will want more. Just buy it used if you are going to customize it.

You can even replace the barrel.

The Nomad stock is about $150 but the magazines kind of suck. If you sand the front of the magwell a bit (the inside.) it should fit battle dyne mags.

A Real G36 is expensive as hell and requires an HK SL8 conversion. So it's pretty cool Promag made those.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/867542/archangel-nomad-folding-rifle-stock-system-with-25-round-magazine-ruger-10-22-synthetic-black

You can buy an SR22 (Rifle and everything for $450-$500 with sights.) It's sold by Ruger but is just a 10/22 with Nordic Parts. Just the Nordic piece alone is $150.
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/715382/nordic-components-ar22-3-piece-stock-conversion-kit-ruger-10-22-22-long-rifle-aluminum-matte

The Troy Chassis is about $230~$300. I picked it up on black Friday for a considerable discount. The Iron Sights are build in and top notch. Troy sights usually go from $150~$200 alone.

2 Different Models

Tapco is really cheap but not bad.
http://www.amazon.com/Tapco-Intrafuse-Standard-Stock-System/dp/B000VYOE34/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1357518603&sr=8-3&keywords=Tapco+T6

Archangel 556 stock is decent. They are coming out with a new one next shot show. The bayonet is fake btw <.<

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/645458/archangel-556-adjustable-rifle-stock-system-ruger-10-22-synthetic-black

Also you have the Butler Creek Folding Stock which is very popular.

Also available in stainless steel.

There are tons out there.

The Lower is the actual serialized fire-arm.
The upper consists of the upper receiver and barrel.

Say you have an AR in 223/556. If you buy an upper in 22lr you can swap them out and shoot 22lr. (If you have the 22lr magazines.)

I really want an AR, you can have tons of caliber options. From 22lr/9mm/40S&W/45ACP/762R/762 NATO/ 6.8/Etc.

Let me look for some beginner guides if you are interested.

you're right, but I also agree that it just looks like a gimmick, as much as I'd like to give it a whirl I probably would never buy it, mostly just seems like a waste of ammo.

just wondering, what were you saying the M&P's accuracy would be better than? the S&W, or something with the different "upper"?

I do like that I read the 5.56/223 is rather cheap ammo, but rather amusing on the hype against it when it's not a very strong round (from some of what I read anyway).

556 is pretty expensive atm. The S&W M&P is more accurate because it is specifically made for 22lr. If you use use a 22lr upper with your 556 barrel there could be some looseness in regards to the bullet+ barrel size which can effect accuracy. (Not much.) But it's not tolerable for target shooting.

It's your call really, AR's and their variants are overpriced now. $600 for an M&P isn't too bad but I'd still recommend the 10/22 as a starter rifle. the price difference can include a decent optic and a few bricks of ammo.

Factory 10/22 $200 (Take down 10/22 is $330 or so.)
Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot $80~$100
Nodak Spud Tech Sights $100
Some Reliable Magazines (Standard 25 rounders are tough to get atm.) $90 can get you 3 at normal price. 10 round magazines only cost $12.
Auto Bolt Release $15

You may also want to check this out when you get good enough at marksmanship.

http://www.appleseedinfo.org/

I plan on it this spring. A lot of people use 10/22 for it.

Google Liberty Training Rifle for the 10/22.
