What is it Anji? Zaldon wont give you any Dwarf Pugils even??? He seems fairly jolly to me now, but I was angry at him for a long time around 2007-2010.
On a side note, my little Taru mule hit fishing 110 just now... and I'm a bit sad about it in a way, no longer any reason to hope for a skillup. I do hope they continue upping the skill caps.
Question... I managed to snag Mega Mogligication: Fishing by the graces of god somehow without messing with my furniture too much. I only have the Fisherman's Stall.
I assume I am still getting the Fishing Skill+5, decreased fish stamina, and discernment even without the signboard, big one, or fishing hole map?
Will getting those other GP items give any benefit other than looks? I still want 1-2 of them but just curious as to if they even matter if i have mega KI.
Also what is the highest fishing skill obtainable? 110 base + 1 from apron + 1 from hands + 1 from legs + 2 from waders + 2 from neck + 5 from moghouse KI = 122? Or tied with my question above does the other furniture pieces count with the moglification for anything?
I'm testing this right now as my main and mule are now essentially equal - what Calnus asked about.
So far my damn mule is outperforming my main despite not having: apron - 100k GP fishing hole map - 150k net and lure - 50k and fisherman's signboard - 200k, all of which my main does have installed in his moghouse with mega-moglification: fishing active.
this is preliminary test and the numbers are close enough to dismiss but im still considering deleting my main and becoming my mule for real.
my fps didnt drop under 29.4 the whole time while fishing for matsya today and my mule was stuck at 14.9/15 fps no matter what i did, i was only able to get it back to normal after shuting down. reloging and zoning didnt help.

If you use a bot/application with FFACE the cap is removed.

seems to mess around with fps while not fishing aswell then, since my mule was stuck at 15 fps everywhere.

nah just the fact that im 1/1102 and already 0/467 the man can kill your dreams he could at least recheck some of my fish lol

Does your mule have the mega moglification KI as well? It's interesting that it matches out outperforms. And did I count that right with max skill possible being 122?
so my mule is continuing to trounce my main on hakuryu... beginning to investigate why this might be
and OMG congratulations on Ebisu, Al!
edit: first attempt at troubleshooting this issue--
cleaned out MH and made it exactly the same as the mule, Stall + Big One only, mega-moglification.
Main character had mega-moglification: fishing before this rearrangement, but also had a cooking stall in the house, as well as all other available fishing GP furnishings. Nothing else was in the house. Since taking these other fishing GP items out of the layout, my main character immediately began behaving similarly to the mule. The hakuryu break % numbers I have are really feeble as far as sample size, so I won't even bother mentioning them. But to me it was such an obvious change in break % after, that i am going to continue the test with these variables, even if they sound rediculous.
reedit: this approach was not effective over time, still breaking almost half my hakuryus.

You could also add Fisherman's Belt, gives you fishing support so +2 skill, and then there is +46 on ebisu, so the max is 170.

I still doubt the 46 skill on ebisu. I'd guess it raises some other hidden attribute other than giving flat out 46 skill.

That's the first time I've ever heard of +46 skill from ebisu lol. But I haven't done much research outside this thread, wiki or BGwiki so don't feel that I am calling you a liar lol.
Hit the 50,000 GP mark out of 95,000 yesterday while maintining about 4800/10000 moats for legit lu shang. It reached 7 million on Siren and it's still rare to see one... I would anticipate it hitting 9-10 million easy before long.
Yet another question, is there any feasible way to predict the guild pattern? Or at least have an idea of the future trends to come? I wouldn't mind taking a day or so out of my 200 count to just get it out of the way before hand.
The +46 fishing skill idea comes from these findings I think, credit to cdgreg from bgwiki, I`m just reposting:
Facts verified by multiple fish:
Fishing skill 13 and above fish cap = Auto-depletion
Fishing skill -24 to 12 = Stagnant
Fishing skill -25 and below fish cap = Auto-regen
Lu Shangs has no hidden skill, it auto deplete/regens at the same levels as Halcyon and other cheap rods
Ebisu has hidden skill, it auto depletes/regens at different levels from all other rods
Target: Titanictus
With Lu Shangs:
autoregen at 89 (fish is 25 levels higher)
stagnant at 90 (fish is 24 levels higher)
Therefore, Titanictus skill cap is 114
Therefore, Last level Titanictus will be stagnant is 126 skill
Therefore, To autodeplete Titanictus you will need to be at 127 skill
With Ebisu:
stagnant at 80 (Skill is 12 levels above fish)
autodeplete at 81 (Skill is 13 levels above fish)
Therefore: First level to autodeplete TItanictus is 127, Ebisu rod first establishes autodepletion at level 81. 127 - 81 = 46.
Proposal: Ebisu fishing rod has a hidden attribute of +46 fishing skill.

I have mentioned it before in this thread, I probably should link the research into this finding in the OP so others can find it easier.

My guess is that it has a hidden attribute that auto-depletes higher level fish or something along those lines rather than giving out an extra 46 levels.
It fits with the fact that other fish have attributes independent of their level, such as the low stamina, but wicked rod-wobbling of titans, tricorns and frog fishing, mats, gugs, and liks, working with mooching, crocs and their lack of skill messages, and how some monsters will auto-regen no matter what level you are and some auto deplete. I'm sure there are other instances but this seems more believable to me.
There are fishing topics that come up now and then but mainly are asking a question for a single answer. I know there are many fishers that visit these forums so this is an attempt to get people involved and have a little fun discussing one and only one thing, fishing!
The emotions of fishing.
I know Blue Gartr has a Fishing topic already, but I would like to see this community get involved a little bit and talk, since not everyone visits BG. I would love to have a topic just for fishers including veteran fishers, casual fishers, and even players just starting out and want to ask a few questions without being embarrassed about starting a whole topic for a simple answer they could not find.
I only ask that you keep any bot talk to a minimum, preferably none.[Moderator edit: No bot talk] I want this to be a place where we can discuss anything from GP items of the day to what lure/bait to use or what area is best. A quick mention of how you're doing on the lu shang/ebisu quest, how you're doing getting your fishing items from Grounds of Valor, that item you're saving your GP up for, or how much you wish you could hurt Zaldon for not finding anything in your fish for the 10,000th time. Your lucky moment streaks and the moments when you have nothing come your way and question why you started fishing in the first place. Anything that comes to mind, think of it as the random thoughts thread for fishing.
I will list a few resources that I find to be useful when it comes to fishing:
BG Fishing Topic Great Blue (Amazing Site <3, is out dated since 2008 but an amazing resource regardless) Final Fishing (Another great resource with one of the most in-depth guides made. Out of date though.)
Fish Size Chart [GE][Wikia] Chenon Diary (The site seems to be down for good though, it was a site made for Fish Ranking)
I shall add more if people provide good resources.
