Whats the best way to win those? >.> I just bought a fish from AH and traded lol
Don't fish bought from the AH lose their weight/length stats?
No way, but its random and you cant see what your buying.
Find a fishing friend or someone that has high level fishing that would be willing to help. The ring is totally worth any cost < 1 mil tbo but don't pay that lmao.
You can get one of the top 25 fish (to get the ring) if you fish the fish for a day or two to meet the requirements.
i always skill up with 2 of those rings, the enchantment effects stack, so even more skill up chances. seen a few double skill ups, but never a triple skill up

ah it stacks? good to know
o.0 Are you sure they stack? With only one ring active, you can get double skillups. The ring doesn't improve skillup rate, but rather gives a second slot for a possible skillup. That's why you will rarely see double skillups. You would need to see a triple skillup to prove that two rings stack.
I did Shall Shells on the dunes beach until 55, then Nashmau for mercanbaligi/ahtapot. When ahtapot cap you can switch to a sinking minnow for pterygotus. Stay in Nashmau until at least 92. If you're fishing to cap everyday you should average about 4.0-6.0 in skillups/day until the 70's.
-Oh and for most fish, skillups tend to be better @ new moon, bite rate better @ full moon.
another way you could go (which is the path i went,) is fishing nebimonites at sea serpent grotto lake til 23? then shall shells at buburimu beach til 52? then i got a lu shangs rod and fished black sole til 96 on qufim island shore. if you fish 200 a day you can make back the money for the lushangs in about 3 weeks depending on how expensive it is on your server, just by npcing the fish, or if you sell on AH, youll make back the gil slightly quicker.
AH is quicker, but damn am I lazy. I'm actually happy that they don't sell so high on the AH that way its easier for me to npc them w/o feeling guilty for my laziness :3
btw, how does everyone feel about the new Angler's Discernment/Senses system?
When your skilling up do you see it a lot? I never get to really experience these great new additions because I've been capped for so long ; ;.

That's really strange. I've seen large fish in bazaars and stuff in the past that didn't have a height/weight shown (that otherwise should have height/weight), and I always assumed that the fish lost those stats when placed on the AH.

I'm not sure what happens if you sell a fish that you turned into fish ranking through the AH, that might wipe off the marker and leave no weight/length data.
You'll love it :) It makes fishing a lot more fun then being restricted by certain rods and limitations.
You going to go for ebisu eventually flion? or not considering it right now?
Yeah I'm working on getting an Ebisu, but I'm completely fishing for profits right now on Black Sole. It's so much easier to fish them up with a Lu shangs lol.
It's pretty easy to hit cap every day just fishing casually :)
It's about 5 hours on a good day, but spread out fishing 30 minutes here and there between chores, it's pretty easy to hit cap. I get around 150k a day doing that.
I keep getting people trying to MPK me in Qufim though which is a pain, I don't know why people hate fishers so much :/

There are fishing topics that come up now and then but mainly are asking a question for a single answer. I know there are many fishers that visit these forums so this is an attempt to get people involved and have a little fun discussing one and only one thing, fishing!
The emotions of fishing.
I know Blue Gartr has a Fishing topic already, but I would like to see this community get involved a little bit and talk, since not everyone visits BG. I would love to have a topic just for fishers including veteran fishers, casual fishers, and even players just starting out and want to ask a few questions without being embarrassed about starting a whole topic for a simple answer they could not find.
I only ask that you keep any bot talk to a minimum, preferably none.[Moderator edit: No bot talk] I want this to be a place where we can discuss anything from GP items of the day to what lure/bait to use or what area is best. A quick mention of how you're doing on the lu shang/ebisu quest, how you're doing getting your fishing items from Grounds of Valor, that item you're saving your GP up for, or how much you wish you could hurt Zaldon for not finding anything in your fish for the 10,000th time. Your lucky moment streaks and the moments when you have nothing come your way and question why you started fishing in the first place. Anything that comes to mind, think of it as the random thoughts thread for fishing.
I will list a few resources that I find to be useful when it comes to fishing:
BG Fishing Topic Great Blue (Amazing Site <3, is out dated since 2008 but an amazing resource regardless) Final Fishing (Another great resource with one of the most in-depth guides made. Out of date though.)
Fish Size Chart [GE][Wikia] Chenon Diary (The site seems to be down for good though, it was a site made for Fish Ranking)
I shall add more if people provide good resources.
