It was meant to be the most difficult fish to catch, the true challenge after getting ebisu. I waited so long to try to fish Matsya and was so excited once I got my ebisu to do it.
I still have it, and haven't attempted to fish another since xD Ha. Nice. :p That cape better be noticeable on crafts. <.<
So I'm a fairly new Fisherman and have started working on my GP. I've noticed that many times the pattern listed here has been wrong.
I've never had this problem for any other crafts. Is this just a fishing thing or has something changed? i go off of what people report at the bottom of the page, someone always does the veteran fishing

And I have been submitting the reports ^^ Its just not as easy to find reports for lower ranks. so is the new cape sendable to the same account characters?

i'm kinda torn on this. the money's right but i don't like making people ebisus, cus then they start buying all the minnows. Are you doing this for cape?
also, for the first day in couple weeks, guild pattern for veteren is coming up wrong. i sent in a report I dont see your report on the page :o what is it? veteran fishing

I'm not sure how rare getting this cape is from the gutting, but if you spent 16m on fish to get it, is the cape even going to save you that much money if you leveled every craft? lol I'd be waiting until theres some more info on it

honestly to me it seems like an item that will bring in new fishers. which annoys me my guess is that the cape isnt SUPER rare. gonna suggest its like 3%, so buy 40 fish u prolly got a shot. i was thinking maybe 5% like pirates chart at first, but i figure weda seen a few more up front than the 2 we know of. but 2 on day 1 says its probably not a .5% item like saber shoot/opal silk. I dont see many people spending 10-20m + months of skilling fishing from 0/getting gp just to try to get matsya for this cape, just buying the fish instead for 500k-1m I would guess

well maybe i shoulda said new ebisu seekers. and there will be. as u can see from post above, gugrusaurus demand is up and supply is down. i have a lu shangs i'm not using and im not selling it for no 5m. I expect demand for lu shangs to rise. you wanna make one for 12m? or buy mine for 9?
i'm prolly wrong, we will see. how would it cost you 10-20m to skill fishing? i made millions skilling fishing. Maybe he's referring to Ebisu costs? That's the only way I can see fishing costing 20m
At any rate, you can't judge the usefulness of the cape until you know how much it affects skillups. Guaranteed skillup every synth? Every 0.1 skillup becomes a 0.2? I know *plenty* of crafters trying to get from 100-110 that would drop 16m on that, much less people trying to get to 110 from scratch. Pretty sure its gonna be like a pelican ring for synthing. Really? lol Are people that lazy just to go farm in abyssea? well, i was kidding. there are no meatballs at the fishing guilds lately because of need for cave cherax, people are buying them all out, and they never had many anyway. it sucks having to farm lv 4 rabbits to make meatballs, which dont HQ. but i didnt think of abyssea as being the place to farm hare meat ;p Wow, do I need to pay attention more closely. I couldn't figure out what the big deal with the cape was; this is what happens when you confuse the word synthesis w/ synergy for a week. Guess it's time to take the Ebisu off the mannequin...
So today i've caught around 25 gugs total. With Ebisu that puts my catch limit down to 195 left to pull up. Any reason why I can't catch anything at all now? I mean absolutely nothing is taking my bait. No fish. No Monsters. No items. I've zoned multiple times. I've shutdown. I've moved to a different zone to catch a diff fish and still nothing taking the bait. This happen to anyone else before or anyone have any ideas?
