It's sad that we must resort to such a thread because we (including myself) cannot use common decency to not post stuff dealing with sex or, well, tampons, lol.
I remember when this site pretty much was all about talk dealing with FFXI. Sure we had some off-topic stuff, but at least 90% of the conversations were FFXI related. Now, you see an actual FFXI thread and it's like "woah what?"

Dying game, etc etc.
Naturally. I'm not complaining though. If the site was like it used to be, I wouldn't even be here. ***, most of us in Ni quit this game and we're still here because of the off-topicness. Yes, that's a word. I added it to my Firefox dictionary so it's right!
I don't understand this line:
"- We are tentatively removing the soft prohibition on discussing disciplinary measures taken against a given user in public."
Does that mean there will be no discussing why a person was banned in public, or does it mean that it will be made clear and public?
Previously the standing policy has been not to discuss bannings and whatnot publicly. A recent example of the opposite would be KFH's ban, and Jaerik's follow up post stating as such.
We're not going to announce every ban, but if someone is causing a scene, we will show that it was handled. Again, KFH is an example of this.
An example of not doing this is a user telling me to give them oral sex via PM (in a more vulgar way). I silently banned them, and went on my way.
Seems to me once the subject of w/e needed mod action becomes public, they intended to be public about the action.. If it's behind the scenes (for example someone cussing out a mod in PM) it stays there.

I wouldn't really be here, either if it was all on-topic stuff.. I don't play FFXI anymore, haven't in nearly a year now, I play FFXIV, and while there is some talk about it, there's not much.. If I just wanted on-topic FFXIV discussion I'd go to the official forums where I could get input at much greater speeds and in much greater quantities.. I'm just here for the social aspect.
If I(generic)get somehow censored I want to know the reason, mind you.
Sure, you can be curious all you want. That doesn't mean that the censoring party is going to explain it.
Yes, but that would be a terrible flaw on their part(not saying it's the case, apparently Krizz simply isn't here, I just got carried away in the general discussion).
Now, it's not like I want someone to tell me why, say Spicyran was banned, as I don't even know him and it's not my business at all. But in case I should be the one banned, I would like to know the reason. On a lesser extent, in this case Zahrah's thread got nuked and she doesn't even know why. It's her thread, she should at least get a word about it...just making examples, there have been other cases of people receiving disciplinary action without knowing why.
And you can't just say "you know what you did", cause sometimes you simply don't know what is crossing the line in the mod's mind.
All this just to explain my words, I'm not so hung up with it.

Mod sleep/eat/work just the same as you and me, they can't all be on to explain something at one's request 24/7, there is no reason behind getting angry because a mod won't respond when they haven't even posted once today. If Krizz or some other mod was posting on a thread multiple times during the course of this conversation I could understand, but you can't get mad over someone not being at their computer lol. I'm sure she'll get her answer.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
