dear altana...the night I just had at work.....they're trying to kill me
/comfort
At least shitty days at work make the arrival of coming home all the more sweet. Pizza and video games help though.
too late to play video games but I do have microwave pizza if I wanted it...
can't believe its 1:30 am T_T
ER sent us 4 admits at 10:00 and shift change is 10:45...I don't even know...no I know..ER was like "end shift, get rid of all beds!" and then our floor was all "omfg"
and when I say "our floor" it was just me and another nurse. We did have a nursing assistant, that was nice but still.
Okay, so my parents are looking for a cheap "netflix box" so to speak.
A device that will stream netflix over a network for them, as it is my little brother that uses the Wii more than them, but are reluctant to give up the only thing that runs Netflix for them. Are there simple and relatively cheap solutions? I thought I recall there being these wireless hard drives able to connect to networks via Wi-fi and have pre built apps like Netflix and Hulu. Anyone know of those?
They messed with my schedule and put me on first shift, so I had to go in at 7 am. Which honestly wasn't that bad, time fleeeeeeeeeeeew.
Then my supervisor from second shift caught me as I was leaving and asked me to stay longer because they were short. And because I have trouble saying no to people in need... Twelve hour shift, GO!
Oh, and I gave up my Tuesday off.... Yeeeeeeeeah....
I want that pizza, it looks so good right now. And some cheesy bread sticks. <.<
Also, Art, I'm not sure it's the same thing but the only thing I know about are "boxes" that can stream from pc to tv for netflix and such. My parents have one but I've never even used it, much less seen what it is!
oh speaking of pizza I bought a 5$ pizza from Little Ceasars on friday and had a funny story.
I walked in and asked for some cheesey bread and my pizza and the dude goes all Sean Spencer on me and was like "let me ask you a question...do you perchance work as a nurse for a living?"
and I was all "0.0...........yes, infact I do...how.did.you.know"
and he was all "cause you wear your watch upside down"
and then I was like "ok"
and then he was all "I do THAT for a living. The guy before you was an engineer and the man before him I asked if he was a doctor and he was actually a medical examiner! BUT YOU HAVE TO GO TO MEDICAL SCHOOL FOR THAT"

well, idk..I wear the watch face down..so its on the same side as my palm instead of the face on top of my wrist.
I don't know why I do it..I just always have
I have no idea how that would clue him in to you being a nurse. I'm a nursing student, and can't think of a nursing-related reason to wear my watch upside down @>@

I have no idea either...I didn't realize that apparently it was commonplace..I really dont know any nurses on my floor with a watch because theres clocks everywhere...and cell phones..

... and machines that go beep! beep! beep! beep! beep! all the livelong day...
i'm currently conjuring up a scene in my imagination where your story happens, all facial close ups, then the camera zooms out and you're in your scrubs :p
Naked below the elbow is the rule now for doctors and nurses. So no wrist watches just 'upside down' ones pinned to your uniform. With that, my week off has ended and I'm off to work. :( catch you all in 10 hours

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
