i know Slip has complained about the shitty doctors here in our area, but omfg today really sucked. our son has a rash on his face, buttcheeks, legs, arms....pretty much everywhere. its noticable more on his face and butt. took him to a doctor, who looked at him for five minutes, then said it looked like it could be impetigo or mild case of staph. then he says well, he's not contagious (hello both those things you suggested are highly so) and to send him to school. showed it to the school nurse who said leave him at home and call them if it gets worse tomorrow.
kiddo wasn't given any antibiotic cream/oral medicine...anything. the doctor said (and i quote) 'just slap some hydrocortizone on it, and see if that helps'.
i'mma try to see if i can get in touch with a doctor that my co-worker recommended to me, and see if he takes CHIP. something needs to be done...all the googling i've done is starting to worry me, and damnit, someone should give a *** about him. he's a tiny lil thing even though he's almost 7, and i worry about him. looks like he's missing another day of school tomorrow. he didnt have red splotches on his tongue earlier, and now he does.
anyways from what i googled rash and red sploteches on tongue and scarlet fever was mentioned in the results, is there any change to his behavior? like not wanting to eat/drink? does he have a high fever?

damnit....fml
WHAT?!? I feel dumb! You're Slip's wife?
/oblivious
Anyhow, a staph infection! That can get serious, right?
yea from what i saw it doesn't look like scarlet fever, but more like staph or chicken pox or something. its really weird. his leg skin is very firm and you can see a difference in coloration where the leg bumps are. his tongue just has a coupla red areas, not really raised bumps, just splotches. he will NOT stop scratching his buttcheeks, and then scratching his face. he thinks its *** funny. i swear, sick or not, i wanna spank him...here i am doing all i can to look after him, and he thinks its a game of "tee hee mom said not to, so i'm gonna"
so far i've gotten him some antiviral liquid a previous doctor had given him for the herpetic whitlow he gets on his thumb. (google if you dare, its hella grody). since some of the bigger bumps look like the herp is starting to come as a secondary infection to the rash, i figured might as well since doctor is no help.
gave him a colloidal oatmeal bath, put anti itch cream on him, gave him some benadryl, and some ibuprofin for the inflammation.
screwed till morning.
and yeppers, slips wife...i just don't post much LOL. trying to change that cuz yall are cool here.

I had scarletina when I was a kid, which is sorta like scarlet fever before it gets bad. It sucked. Poor kid, he has my deepest sympathy if that's what he's got. :/
what a shitty doctor. any 24/7 clinics in the area?
pfft....slip always says to people on ffxiah that we live in a small town. yes its small compared to some, but its kinda decent size. 70k people or so.
anyways, point being....nope. there is an urgent care clinic thats open when doctor offices arent, but its only from like 5-8pm, and costs 100 dollars to even be seen. (they don't take his CHIP insurance)
i was relieved i got him the appointment today (made it yesterday) cuz it was short notice and you usually cant get one that fast. we all know how well THAT ***went. now i gadda try and find a normal *** doctor that isnt at the hospital. every time we get a decent resident there they finish their residency and i'm left taking him to raging arseholes.
i hope hope hope that the dr my coworker mentioned can see him and take his insurance.
he hasn't really been wanting to eat lately...today all he ate was a bowl of cereal, a bit of ice cream (usually dont let him have sweets but he has a sore throat), and 2 corn dogs. he's usually eating aaaaaall the time, though you wouldn't know it cuz he's short as hell and only 43 pounds. he hasn't seemed fevery at all, either.
i literally only ate like 2-3 of slips cheesesticks he didn't want. i've been going since early this morning and i'm effin tired ><
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
