I thought I was ready to finish the storyline with the minimum required power, everything was going smoothly till they decide to drop a frigging boss rush on me...

Though even a boss rush would be viable if it was 8 straight fights, but they decided to push further and do it instead of 8x1, do 4x2.

My setup never focused on defense, but it is barely doable dodging 2 targets spamming wide area attacks and still doing dps.

There is some sort of gimmick in the fight though. If I could exploit it, maybe I could pass this challenge even without extra training or extra gear, but the thing is Palworld community is just a bunch of show offs, that just mas everything and ran over those boss without a problem. I'm not finding a single information about this gimmick.

Now I have two ways to go. Either I stop and increase my level and gear, or I struggle to get used to the fight or discover the gimmick.

The first is less stressful. The second, while more epic, will result in an entire da6 of suffering.

Earlier I went to the store to buy something to cook at home. Right now the only thing I can do is boiling water and that is because some device my mother gave to me.

It fixed the coffee, but all meals are either at restaurant or delivery.

I still don't plan on cooking rice and beans. Those I will just buy because they arent expensive, and only prepare the meat, and possibly the salad. But still I would need a microwave to heat the rice and bean.

At store though, I saw a combo oven + air fryer. I thought maybe I can heat the cold food and prepare the meat in a single device so I went with it.

Second game I wont plat. First game was a Tales Of game. I dont remember the details, but it was something like seeing every duo attack cutscene, there were like 200 of them and they were randomly generated about which would get used depending on the characters part of the attack.

Why do modern games suck so much.

I miss turning on Duke Nukem 3D for the first time and laughing my *** off.

The original Max Payne was a masterpiece in both story telling and game design.

As was the original Bioshock, Deus Ex, can name a few and they're all from the same decade.

How did we come to this.

Why is it a better experience to watch a video game story on YT than to actually play the game.

It is not that modern games sucks.

It just sucks we get old and the big producers are more interested in atending the younger people tastas (or shaping their tastes to something profitable to them) than humoring middle aged people like us.

If we were their priority, they would create more games we think "dont suck".

This kinda reminds me one video I watched some time ago, that our generation is the forgotten one. Born at the advent/growth of internet, we saw it growing, but it never cared about us enough.

The world is mostly the old geezers deciding shits with their ***, the young people being feed/manipulated to what the "modern world" think its fitting, and us, who gets the short end of the stick. Not cared, having to deal with the massive backlog of things to fix from older people.

That said, you do feel like you need some AI powered muscular dog hug.

More of a cat person I'm afraid. I give the neighbourhood cats hugs almost every day, but would welcome a muscular dog hug from Panta himself any day.

Not to revive that thread again, but it's probably a combination of things and you aren't alone.

I realized the other day I'm just not playing games anymore and, when I do, it's almost always something old. I'm more excited about Thief being remastered than anything that's come out recently. In the 90s and 2000s it felt like there was always something cool coming out: new engines, new cool games with new mechanics, some new innovation, etc. Now it just feels like more of the same and there isn't anything I've played recently I was really excited about, except Expedition 33 and BG3.

I think it's easy to dismiss it as age/time and there is some truth to that, earlier in my life, I'd probably put up with sucky stuff more than I would not. OTOH it really does feel like a lot of the innovation and excitement around new releases just isn't there anymore. Everything I have thought would be good, just ended up being kindof meh. I was enjoying ARPGs a lot, like D2:R, PoE2, and Last Epoch, but the nerf cycles kindof got old.

Fatekeeper does look cool, though, and I hope they don't botch it. I've been waiting for a game to pick up that formula since Dark Messiah and so far everyone has flubbed it.

Need to avoid AAA games. AAA means a lot of money is involved which these days often means stock traded companies are involved. When lots of money is involved it usually means risk averse approach so they default to tried and tested formulas that worked in the past mix with as much enshittification they can get away with.

If you want something new or a old formula with a little nostalgia and a new twist sprinkled over you're better of looking into indies, maybe AA titles. Just avoid AAA franchises if you don't want what you've been getting the past 2 decades over and over.
