How are they getting away with that? Are their shareholders not concerned?
It's like the nightmare of a job I left behind a year and a half ago. I can't fathom how they're afloat. We had caught the manager fudging the books, but even that can only take you so far. How can you maintain even the facade of being profitable when your negative margins are as high as your gross gains?
Same thing with these bozos. If not for XIV (and to a lesser extent, XI) I'm positive Square-Enix would have had no net profits to report in 2022...
Another game that developers poured thousands of hours into, plagued by a publisher so predatory for whales that they don't see the bottom line. This one was a "battle royale" (a la PUBG, Fortnite, etc.) set in the Final Fantasy VII universe.
Just an amazing episode of Andor, easily the best Star Wars material since Rogue One. No fan service, no nostalgia, no stupid shiny objects to distract us, just telling it's own story and doing a great job.
Saw this coming months ago when they started running like 5 different special banners at the same time and ***like costumes that you can only get after having already pulled the previous version. Practically speedrunning EoS at that point.
Not even remotely surprising though, considering how vocal people have been about how the game needed to be ported to PC/console, yet SE consistantly ignored them. It just did not run remotely well enough on low-mid range phones to grab a decent-sized playerbase. And then there's the ***touchscreen controls too. But at least it had controller support, because everyone carries one of those around with their phones, right?
Still, it was a fun game and I'll be sad to see it go.

Power Wash Simulator set in Final Fantasy worlds incoming.
Free-to-play, only on Android/iOS! First 5 minutes are really fun, but then the water starts slowing down. Quick, apply your credit card information and buy the $0.50 Water Booster Deluxe(tm).
A couple hours later, you gotta pay $1.50 for the Water Booster Premium(tm). If you want that water to flow, drop $4.99 for the Mythic Water Booster(tm). Uh oh, slowing down again, better pay $14.99 for the Legendary Water Booster(tm). What's another $49.99 for the Leviathan Water Booster? Still slowing down? Just keep paying $149.99 for the Bahamut Booster.
Jeeze, i always thought id try that later... how fast.
Yup, same. I figured with the all the FFVII things coming out that it would have some lasting relevance to the VII universe, but apparently not. I can only hope that they learn something from this so that Ever Crisis doesn't flop, but SE is pretty hit or miss when it comes to learning from obvious mistakes....

Italy's Cup Challenger Team Luna Rossa launched their own AC40 test boat yesterday! Now, I know Italy has long been associated with fashion firsts, but good lord that pattern has to violate some Maritime Law somewhere!
I remember back then the (small) city where i lived just had 1 cinema, with only one movie per week.
At that time, i was in love with the second girl i liked in life, and maybe the one i still feel happy remembering despite not being able to even remember her surname.
The given name is Sheila. Even today, my CC password is my and her class ID.
I guess, that means its also impossible to forget her.
I do remember once onviting her to watch a movie in the cinema, but the invitation went poorly.
One single year romance was abruptly finished when my parents made movo to another school.
Titanic is a really exceptional movie. I know the plot is kind of lame, but all of the elements still click. And the practical effects still hold up thanks to their realness.
Titanic came out when I was 7, and I saw it in theaters with a friend from school and his mom.
He invited me over to his house to play Mario 64, and I was pumped for that. Yet, just as we started to play Mario 64 (or rather I started to watch him play Mario 64), his mom came downstairs and basically told this kid, his name was Jacob, that we were gonna see a movie together.
He was pretty upset, because he wanted to play Mario, but we had no choice but to go along with the parent. I think she had a date or brought his grandfather. Either way, there was another adult along, but I can't really remember.
I do remember Rose's bosom though. Hubba hubba! My 7 year old heart was racing.
I don't think I ever saw it in theatres, but my mom did pick up the 3(?)-tape VHS release of the movie, and we watched it quite a few times. The only thing I remembered - or cared about - was the third act
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
