after reading a FB page about responsible gun ownership on the island, my thought was... "Guns dont kill people, its the uneducated people who know nothing beyond the drugs and violence kill people. The gun itself is just a tool to achieve this end."

Sleeping Beauty was emo child who wanted to die in the least painful way possible, while Aladdin was a hostage taker, and Spongebob is STILL gay.
KI has google ads and they also have a flame core, granted it doesn't get much traffic anymore. I think "Flame Core" is a given.. and I would hope someone from that company wouldn't apply that to the whole site. Elsewise, there have been some instances where nothing has happened on the moderator end. I have reported dumb posts and nothing has happened at all, I even PM'd Jaerik and few others with no action or even response. Specifically the pedo talk in the Friday thread I had made, so I wouldn't doubt there are other instances of this.
Also if whatever is put into effect and is too strict, you also risk losing a lot of frequent members. Too much strict censoring leads to unhappy people.
On the other hand; We could go in an entirely different direction... We could make this a no children under 18 site and have porn sites post ads on here!

Adobe has one, don't remember what it's called though. Probably not the most user friendly out there, but if you have experience working with photoshop or something, shouldn't be too hard to grasp the concept.
Google doesn't have people read the forums. They have their crawler index the forums, and an algorithm calculates the frequency of certain words, phrases, etc, with perhaps a certain amount of complaints added in.
Getting rid of flamecore would probably alone reduce the load of nastiness, especially with all the archives. A day of the crawler re-indexing and we may be back in business.

in case of this site, isnt it "Gaming" "social" or soemthing like that, while, a more mature site would get more... mature tags, and keep things under their right classification, and display Adds that fit the classification ?
Well that does explain why some posts lately were removed by moderators simply because they were talking smack about somebody. Before, I had seen much worse left alone. It does suck that it had to take something as big as Google removing their ads to see what was going on around here.
You just said yourself that moderation was up. The fact that moderation policy isn't directly discussed with us doesn't mean that it doesn't exist/evolve.

Good point...truth be told I never even knew that other sites advertised here due to adblocker. That being said I'm left wondering how other sites are finding the "advertising" slots given the rising popularity of programs like Adblocker.

I dont know, but I hope AdBlock Plus upgrades itself to block 100% of ads everywhere.
Because enough adverts get through to subsidize the server load. Its not a business, but it shouldn't be a burden on jaerik/ anyone else who pays for it either.
