So is it worth replacing an LCD on a laptop, or do I need to buy a new one?
They're pretty cheap to replace, unless it was a cheap laptop to begin with.
Last time I looked at one was for my ex... I don't remember the size but it was in the $40 range at the time. My question is WTF do you do to keep breaking LCD screens....
Yeah, after double-checking the current price of most sized screens, along with the added cost of labor if you can't do it yourself, you may be better off just getting a new laptop.
The funny thing is, I have one laying around that I got for free from a display at work. Pretty sure it's an exact size match to the one in my laptop, too. I had a thin red line down my screen. I read up on it and found out it was a disconnected pixel or some ***. To get ird of it, I had to sort of massage the screen near the bezel to knock it back in place. Well, I pressed too hard lol
Well, the battery on this thing is pooched, so I guess I will just get a new one. bad timing :/ Uri find me a new laptop for under $500! Oh, also, what size monitor would you want? Same with preferred OS, processing power and minimum memory you'd like out of it.
Edit: Also! Do you need it to run off of dedicated graphics, or is integrated graphics okay? Has anyone watched this show The Following? Just watched the pilot, seems promising. A killer who slays his victims in the name of romantic literature, mostly Poe. Hopefully it doesn't get crappy!

Asus or gtfo Acer Lenovo I'm still looking but I wanted to post this before it gets outdated or lost! I got my laptop from Microcenter and it has done pretty well for the price I paid. You may want to define what you mean by "playing games" on it, though. Do you just mean LoL or does it need to handle higher graphics than that? Edit: After looking into the graphics capabilities on that Asus one, it doesn't look TOO bad for the price range. It's a better graphics card than mine... I'm just not familiar enough with that line of processors to say how good that part will be. I love when I get the urge to play a game but don't feel like paying full price for it, then within days said game goes on sale. :3 It's like the universe wants me to play video games.
