Angry, screaming, cursing man uses belt to whip another person that is not threatening him. 15 times.
Not only is this blatant child abuse, it's also assault and battery. If the kid (or his parent(s)) filed a complaint with the police, the uncle would be convicted and likely face jail time with a felony on his permanent record.
Again, it doesn't matter if you agree or disagree. This is the facts. You can debate about whether this is "good parenting" or "bad parenting". But there is no debate that the uncle in the video is a CRIMINAL.
Bar none. Case closed. Too bad if you don't like it.

Corporal punishment shouldn't be the very 1st thing you use to teach your kid a lesson but one of the tools. Some kids you will never need to hit them because they would easily learn from their own mistakes and never do it again. Some kids tho are *** hard headed and do it again and again and again. Example, School calls and your kid skip a class. You wait for him to get home, see his friends for the class he missed (get homework) sit with him (give him a talk about what he is doing is wrong, etc) help him with his homework then give him some sort of restriction (grounded, take away his wtv thing he loves) 2nd, 3rd time. School calls and ask if you approved your kid going home early because of (lets say doctor reason, dental wtv) "so he made a fake note" Your kid gets home and tells you that it was a half day and they let him come home early. 1) he lied to you 2) You have approached him multiple times about this yet he is still doing it At this point. I want feedback what would you do to discipline your kid? Without the need of Smacking sense into him. resorting to violence only shows a weakness on your part and quite frankly only teaches them to solve their problems through violence, something you should never teach a child My parents are very intelligent strong willed people. It shows weakness when you dont whoop your kids. I got my shares of whoopings (which means alot of em) and I dont solve my problems with violence. Actually, I am a really peacefull person. And I would bet that 95% of the people who did get whooped dont do the violence thing and have alot of respect for others. So where are you getting this spanking your kids leads to solving your problems with violence? you =/= every case also there's many other circumstances involved. Your parents were ***if they hit you, end story.
Ahhh although I dont equal every story, neither does your notion that every child being spanked does either. But your opinions on my parents are noted. If the the people who nurtured, cared, taught, disciplined, and charised me are pieces of ***, than I love those pieces of ***. You and everyone else who are against an whoopin have not told us about what you would do in extreme circumstances. Waiting?
I already told you, go look. I'm sorry that you have a complex with your parents, it's akin to battered wife syndrome though.

well I was pondering that. The "child" in the video, is he 18? during the shooing of it or now? if either are then he would have to press charges, if he's still underage then it's a matter of the public prosecutor to do so if the family isn't willing. Sad really.

Not abuse when its provided via your gaurdian. No marks no blood, leason learned. You can pull all the laws out you want. Dosnt make it abuse when you got your *** whooped by your guardian. Which is completely different from a straight up beating. Please try to get past the whole act of the whooping and comparing it with true violence. This will send people to jail who have done nothing more than do their job as a parents/gaurdian. Not spanking your kids dosnt make you more intellectually adept or morally superior to anyone. Just means you are not up for the job of doing what is required as a parent sometimes.

And you're wrong on the inability to properly parent part. Kids don't always listen to you. What are you gonna do? Ground them? Then they sneak out what are you gonna do? Ground them for another week? It'll come to the point where some kids will just 100% refuse to listen. yelling at them, telling them they can't do something when they go ahead and do it anyway, etc, isn't going to do ***. Sometimes you have to just show them you are dominant.

Ok, sure. I sure hope you don't get the opportunity to breed. Because teaching people/kids that "the law can *** off" sure ain't gonna make your kids or society a better place. Listen, douchebag, it IS criminal. A criminal, by definition, is someone who commits a crime. The guy in this video is battering his nephew.
I never said nor implied I thought this video shows "a horrible abusive moment". I said it shows a criminal beating another person in an anger-laden rage, not in self-defense, not to defend property, and not to prevent an actual crime in-progress from happening.
So, ***, you and your small-mind can call me a "pussy" if it makes you feel better. But I'm still right. The dude's a criminal, and if someone wants to file a formal complaint about his videotaped actions, he will do jail time for this. Sorry.

Imo, that's some of the fun of being a teenager. Thinking you're one upping your parents by sneaking out. No parenting style is going to have 100% control over your kid and every action they do til they hit 18. But in the long run, the good parts of it carry with them.

Psychological punishment works for pretty much any child. I know for fact if you send that kid to go get your belt will put them in such a tearful disarray that they will be ready to apologize by the time they come back.

Bahamut.Jetackuu said: Odin.Sinharvest said: You're talking in a loop, in that situation, how would you discipline the kid, there is no doubt in my mind this is the first time the uncle has had to deal with this. I was whooped a majority of my life, and I don't raise a hand to any of my children, what works for some dont work for others, does not make the type of punishment any less valid. I would have removed internet access, simple as that, it's not even hard to do. Child abuse isn't disciplining them, it's abuse. All it does is teach them to solve their problems through violence, it's a solution for idiots.
You see it as black or white. Child abuse if you touch him. Some other form of discipline is the only way.
In my opinion, there is a huuuuuge grey area involving discipline. My father did both. I got my TV, Nintendo, hanging outside with friends privliges taken away from me when it warrented. I also got the ***kicked out of me a few times when it was needed.
Looking back now, I think my Pop was very fair in his decisions. Sometimes the time-out/grounding method just doesn't work. Other times the *** whoopin didn't work. It depends on the kid and the infraction.
You tell a lie and get caught, like you weren't allowed out and you go out anyway when your parents are at work. You swear up, down and sideways you didn't go out but they found out, they ground you. No TV, Computer, Games or going outside for 2 weeks (or whatever).
You get caught stealing from a store. Store owner doesn't inolve the cops but tells your parents. When you get home, you get your *** whooped. Next time you go to take something, you remember getting knocked around and decide, meh...I think I'll pass.
I would never push my beliefs on anyone else. To each their own on how they want to raise their kids. This method worked for me growing up and I don't feel like I was ever abused. Every time I can remember being hit, looking back, I feel I deserved it.
As far as you saying all it does is teach violence...It doesn't mean I'm going to beat my kid every time he does something wrong. However, there are situations where I feel that a grounding just won't cut it. I hardly think it's a solution for idiots. It's a very difficult topic.
Like I said, this is just my opinion on the matter. You have a right to yours. I can agree to disagree with you. I mean you no ill-will. Please don't think this was an attack.

we don't always agree but I'm with you on this.
On a side note I am not saying you can't use force to prevent a child from doings something, like if a kid is about to hit you, you can move them etc. But to restrain somebody 1/3 of your size and beat them is just quite frankly barbaric.

Yeah because teenagers fear the time out more than anything.
And just because you say something is fact, doesn't make it true.

Please don't think this was an attack.
nope, it's a solution for idiots. I don't care how one raises their children, but I do care when their children are being abused. Just because you fail to see why it's wrong, it is still wrong.

Actually, it does. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Totally and completely flawed logic.
Please, do not breed.
we don't always agree but I'm with you on this.
On a side note I am not saying you can't use force to prevent a child from doings something, like if a kid is about to hit you, you can move them etc. But to restrain somebody 1/3 of your size and beat them is just quite frankly barbaric.
In the video, the nephew is bigger than the uncle.

the law can *** off
it's not criminal
if you honestly think that is a horrible abusive moment you are a *** ***, and a pussy
Sorry.

I'm neither. It is not child abuse. I bet that kid didn't even get a bruise from that. You are over reacting way too much to call that guy a criminal. If you asked i bet 90% of parents would not have a problem with the way he handled that situation.
Ok, dude, you take a poll of randomly sampled parents. I guarantee far more than 10% of parents would "have a problem" with this "parenting". But you go on believing in your myths and fantasy world.
Yeah because teenagers fear the time out more than anything.
And just because you say something is fact, doesn't make it true.
Have you read any of the comments off the 10+ sites this video is on?
For every one comment calling it abuse there are 10-15 comments that applaud him. So think again.
popular sure doesn't mean it's right
