sorry... rate down, good parenting and bad parenting isn't always about "how" the punishment is doled out, its about whether or not the lesson is learned in a manner worthy of the lesson being learned. I truly think the kid got it through his head that he screwed up. Not every kid needs physical correction, and many people believe that physical correction is wrong, but in this case: 1: the punishment isn't permanent nor long lasting. A few welts from a belt go away probably by the time the kid went to sleep. He had pants on, cushioned a lot of the blows. 2: mental correction wasn't degrading to the kid, there were no slanderous name callings or major put downs. The kid actions were called stupid, the decision to post on facebook was stupid, but the uncle never went to town on him like i've seen some internet trolls do.
Was a good job imo.
