Rule of thumb, always with the ceveat that the more pdl you add the more attack you need to use it:

While total pdl < total Wsd -> adding pdl is worth more dmg than adding wsd

They are multiplied, so if wsd/pdl > 1, add more pdl. If wsd/pdl < 1 then add more Wsd.

I had an idea that I wonder if somebody would want to run with. I am very bored of updating my gearswaps and I was wondering if there was a way to make this feel a bit less like work. Something that would collect all your inventory and populate an interface that's like in game /equipsets. Letting you just pick a slot, it opens up your inventory and lets you replace the piece of gear you want, then it will automatically update your luas.

Basically a GUI that will let you adjust your luas the same way /equipsets work in game.

I have zero idea how difficult this would be to create, just a random thought I had last night.

I'm going to be honest, I don't understand peoples fascination with swapping out wardrobe items every time they change jobs.

The addon looks really cool though.

PDL also has the additional benefit of working on additional hits, granted that for single hit WS additional hits barely mean anything at all, but everything counts I guess!

Under my bias I was doing the same reasoning for stuff with the same value (so in the example before, 10 vs 10) but in general I was leaning to pick the one with the higher value.
But that's clearly flawed, thanks for answering my doubts!

I think it's easy to justify swapping Kentarch Belt +1 and Charis Feather into that set, assuming Climactic.

Less sure:
Regal vs. Epa ring
With Grand Pas and Climactic, Fatality Belt vs. Kentarch +1 (galaxy brain)

If you're not attack capped, obviously the set should change even more.

Anybody got a rough approximation of how to compare the weight of WSD vs PDL for single hit WSs?

I agree we are close enough on values for practical use. But I would like to understand a bit more why we can’t nail it down.

One thought I have is we aren’t using the right aftermath value. If you look at the table that says 12% at 3k it’s rounded. Take the actual value 3k dmg and add .9 and divide and you don’t even get 12%. Ex: 1142.9/1021 =1.119 or if you did it the other way 1021x1.12=1143.5 which also doesn’t fit. so I am thinking maybe it’s much more likely 30/256 or maybe an out of 1024 value.

Checking pdl would be probably easy done with something like Jokushunoibuki. It has 300 damage, so it would have a very good round-down precision and throwing doesn't have 5% randomizer, so you would only need to throw it once for each AM levels and once without AM. So you would only need 4 of them.

If the mods are 40/40 or 41/41 or 44/44 or 47/47 it doesn't change the gear set

This was my reasoning for my advocating using the nice even numbers on the wiki. If the stat mods are 40% or 41% or 41.5 or some random in between 41.28% kinda number because s-e used a weird XX/1024 value that doesn't math out clean you're still gonna gear the same. What's BiS will still be BiS. You wouldn't swap out a regal ring for some other ring because of such a small percentage change, and the actual numbers that happen in game will be extremely close to the formula posted. It's just so much cleaner and easier to read this way.

Another example. The true value of the ftp bonus for fotia gorget and belt is 25/256, but for mathing purposes we generally just use 0.1. We know that 25/256 does not equal 0.1, it actually comes out to 0.9765xxxx, but who wants to throw THAT number into a field when doing calculations? The difference between a 48,572 calculated result being off from the actual 48,534 number you might see in game is pretty insignificant.

Exact values matter for sims :) Especially if you compere against different WSs or even different jobs.

Wondering if worth making Fudo Masamune B for cap subtle blow or is C really the only option. If it matters have all nin REMA. Thanks.

Short answer, no
Long answer, nooooooooooooooo

As a fool who actually HAS had both Fudo Masamune B and C at rank 25 for ages...

Eiryl is 10000000% right lolllllll.

C is fun though and really opens up some powerful enmity generation. That one for sure.

The complex makeup of obesity might also explain why GLP-1s don't work for many people. A sizable minority experience side effects like nausea; studies have shown a significant portion of patients lose less than 5% of their body weight on the drug, though they may experience other metabolic improvements.

Do you guys understand how semiglutides work and why they would be ineffective? They make you feel full so you don't eat. You effectively starve yourself. That's why they lose weight so fast and look like skeletons. The nausea side effect? You ever eaten way too much, so much that you puke? That's your body's response to being full. The nausea these people endure isn't a side effect, it is the intended effect. It makes them not want to eat food because even the thought of one more bite makes them feel like puking. So then why aren't semiglutides effective for everyone? You want an honest answer? Some fatties will eat past the nausea. They force feed themselves. They do things like graze, eating small portions all day long. It's not that the semiglutide didn't do what it was supposed to do. It's, some people will eat through the nausea that's supposed to stymie their hunger. Semiglutides make it so you don't feel hungry so it's easier to stick to a diet with regulated eating times and meals, but some peoples habbits are so out of whack that not even turning off their hunger meter can stop them from eating.

Back in my day we smoked cigarettes and drank black coffee. None of this fandangled nonsense.

As for body postivity? I still see plus sized models in the victorias secret catalog so it's obviously still a thing, but it's not out loud as it was.

Funny...you're all about using FFXIAH's quoting feature, until it comes to this quote.

Carbuncle.Nynja said: »
"crafter shields are quick easy and cheap".

So why aren't you quoting that one, buddy? Is it because I never *** said that? Seems like pretty dishonest framing to me. Seems like you can't even quote mine that one, because it's so far off what I said.

If we take what Thorny said as being true (IDK if those are accurate numbers but they seem reasonable enough) then it takes 35 hours to make a shield (from having a 110 craft). If you consider that "I'm going to sit down at my keyboard and not leave until it's done" then yeah, it's insane. If you do 5 hours a week for 7 weeks, it's not so insane.

Now distribute that across all players on your entire server and suddenly, there are dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds, of shields. Not so difficult to make some spheres now, is it?

This is the design SE implemented. Hundreds of players can farm spheres, sell them to one guy, and that guy can make a finished escutcheon.

Getting a "stage 3" shield and doing the craftsmanship to be able to make spheres is not difficult. It doesn't take long (in the grand scheme of FFXI) and it costs very little (compared to the other items in the game).

It costs very, very, very significantly less than a single empyrean weapon and takes less time. How many people on Asura have 1 empyrean weapon?

No they copy things as a sequence, that is how the LLM learning process works. For stackoverflow it's just the entire code section for the highest rated responses with key words from the original post. It disassembles your prompt into tokens, then returns the values with the highest correlation to the tokens you requested. When doing a complex prompt it will append sections of code together into a clump that is syntax accurate. Stack overflow has already admitted it sold access to all it's posts to every coding LLM out there, it's the #1 place people for coding / scripting solutions to basic questions.

Importantly there is ZERO concept of context or circumstance.

This is an illusion. You are not special nor is your request special or particularly unique. The probability of someone else on this planet having asked the same or similar question as you is 100%. You make a request for something that is three components, it will find the most likely match for each of those components then put them together. It's no different then if you had done a google search for each one, then copied the most likely answer from stack exchange (or occasionally reddit or some dudes coding blog) and repeated for the other two and put the results together.

Because LLM's do this fast we think they are somehow magic, but it's just token chains inside a ridiculously large matrix.

Ozempic wasnt even FDA approved yet and I highly doubt a high profile actor would be taking experimental drugs.
Actually if you have $80m you can take most any experimental drug.

For most people it is a lengthy process to get approved to use an experimental drug. It can be sped up with money and lawyers.

That said I don't think many who aren't on the oh **** I'm gona die I'll try anything list even attempt to get experimental drugs.

My company has an instance of AI model integrated with Sharepoint.

And it is impressive how it can scan all content produced in those pages and give good corporative answers (things you will never find on internet and even inside company, you will only learn after talking to a lot of people in those far departments.

In my eyes, those corporative chatGPTs are a game changer in terms of spreading corporate knowledge. You just write some random article, drop in some sharepoint, then the LLM will find it, understand it and provide the answer if you ask something related to it.

What impresses me is how loosely related a question can regarding the topic. It can infer the related article, even if it is only one, and answer.

That's just "development" these days.

Fml.

Already repeated "*** off with that ***" on being asked to review AI code a few times.

Embrace it instead of fighting it. Then in a year have your job title changed and then you can get a very sizable pay raise. Seriously companies are now throwing large piles of cash at anyone who can prove they know how to cleanup the mess those LLM's vomit. Every executive pushed for "20~80% productivity increase" from AI, and those managers were forced into using it to generate piles of garbage that they do not have the time or skill to make safe.
