Here's where we got the info from: https://strikeret.hatenablog.com/entry/2024/07/11/000034
And if you go on the JP wiki it backs this as well. I did a very small sample size test but it was around 50% and works as stated in the blog. It's a 1 or a reset, never got any other numbers

Seems relatively easy to confirm that you only get 1 or the desired outcome with 20 or so WCs. But, the difference between 40% and 50% is pretty hard to tell and if it's 40%.. it's not helpful.
|
|
 |
|
50% seems wrong. The logical way for it to work is that the roll calculation is the same for wild card and normal double-up.
So, if snake eye 'procs' to try to give you an auto-XI, you would get the difference between your roll and XI as your wild card result. That makes sense: a 5 would give you a 6 WC and vice versa.
However, unless wiki is wrong, the first merit doesn't count toward chance at auto-XI. Wouldn't that mean it only gives a 40% chance of a 5/6, which is worse than the base rate of 4/9?
Am I missing something?
No, you're right. It's 40% chance of 11 for rolls 5-9 at 5/5 Snake Eye merit.
I'm just surprised this works with Wild Card, allegedly. (I have no proof and just heard about this today).
Also, tangent: Any assertion of 50% effects with Snake Eye, probably relates to the JA recast being set to 0, with 5/5 merits and relic armor augments (gants? I forget)

Thank you to everyone who provided tips and inputs on how to approach the Bumba V25 fight and helped troubleshoot our runs. We were finally able to beat the mob last week but have been busy so haven't been able to type out impressions.
We spent about 10-15 runs over 3 weeks before we realized we had issues with the multi-boxed GEO and then people were busy over break so that contributed to why it took so long.
As noticed by the group above, we believe our issues were due to badly managed impact durations and confusion on when it actually wore. Once we adjusted impact cast times it only took 2-3 WC success runs to get the win even though we still had some resist issues. I have logs of the fights if anyone wants to take a closer look to troubleshoot but my group is satisfied for the time being as we don't expect to repeat it anytime soon.
On a slightly related note, I do want to bring up one last niche "tip"" we found that I had never heard of regarding WC manipulation via Snake Eye.
Apparently if you have a V or VI roll that is eligible for double up and have full 5/5 Snake Eye merits you can SE before the WC for a 50% chance of reset (slightly higher than the 44% of normal WC). So basically, toss up a roll and if you can get it to V or VI then while it's still eligible for double up, you use Snake Eye and then WC (do not double up). If you had a V, you will roll either a I or a VI; if you had a VI, you will roll either a 1 or a V. If your roll was not V/VI then you WC as per normal (ie do not Snake Eye) and still have your 44%ish chance of reset (assuming you have boots ofc). Since I had never heard of this before I did test it and in limited tests it held up. Again, its VERY niche and may not be practical elsewhere due to the specific merit structure it requires (especially on Bumba where you probably want 5/5 RD as well) but just bringing it up incase its new information to anyone else.
Congratulations on your Bumba v25 win! That's quite an accomplishment!
However, your description of 5/5 Snake Eye Merits, definitely applies to ordinary rolls with a 5 or 6, having a 50% of getting 11. If what you say is true, that your snake eye can effect Wild Card in this scenario, then this sounds very much like Bug Territory (unintended side-effect).

I highly doubt the discount bonus affects your box spawn rate, but it could be possible. Check the moogle and see where you're at. I'm capped on boxes in Sheol A but not in other zones, and I don't notice any observable difference (less rate) when I open Coffers with izzat for Aurum chance in the other Sheols, so it really can't be related. It's for sure lower than Coffer upgrades from chest, but 0/20 is super unlucky (assuming all 20 of those were purely from Izzat and not from keys). No I was opening ALL chests with Izzat. Need to be on THF main to use keys, no?
Anyway, wanna laugh? Opened the 21st coffer today and an Aurum finally popped! And I opened. Yai! 1/20 aurums

Phoenix.Darwinion said: »Anyone got any suggestions for the TP set on this fight? I seen the all gear thread where it does list O-Sash in waist, but keeps one earring and ring slot free I assume for DW + ?
EDIT: I'm thinking (for the gears I have) this set:
Crocea Mors / Bunzi's Rod (R15)
5/5 Malignance
Null Loop
Sherida / Eabani earrings
2x Chirich +1 rings
Reiki Yotai
RDM cape with either STP or DA.
This set gets DW +11 with -41 Damage taken.
I have two sets, one for with Cornelia, one without.
Pretty standard STP focused set, 4/5 Malignance, Bunzi Hat. I use DW earrings for +9% (Eabani+Suppa) and use a STP Cape. I use Orpheus's Sash + Ayanmo Gloves +2 with Crocea Mors-C, because for the majority of the fight, your main source of damage will be magical. Also, after Shinryu uses Mighty Guard, he will occasionally take 0 physical damage for upwards of a minute, so the additional enspell damage gear helps. I also TP in JSE Neck +2 for the additional Magic Accuracy I presume helps Enspell damage (maybe it doesn't, Anu might be better)
When Cornelia is down, I use a DW cape and also Carmine Legs +1 to cap attack delay. The fight is significantly slower when you only have 30% Haste.
Anyways, I don't think your TP set is far off from what I use, and it matters only a little. The bread and butter I have found for killspeed is to SC+MB Fire MB, but sometimes I am lazy and don't feel like SCing and I just spam Sanguine the entire time when Wings are down, and spam Red Lotus Blade when they are open. Fight is relatively easy, just stand behind him the entire fight, enfeeble, remove enfeebles on yourself, and spam sanguine. Dies in 10+min with low effort.

I grant you there's nothing "hard" about crafting (its all easy). Perhaps "tedious" is a better word (but I that also equates to "not quick"). I don't think 8-10M is "cheap", but its not expensive either and it still takes time and probably easy to go past that depending on how careful one is.
I suppose the main opportunity cost is when I have a couple hrs./day to play do I want to spend most of it crafting when I could be doing something more interesting? (the days I play longer I typically do spend some time doing the more tedious tasks)
There are many things in this game you can fulfill multiple objectives at once (literally and figuratively) which is going to be more efficient (human time/gil) but probably take longer to do. Serializing them is going to be more effort/gil but generally will get them done quicker.

might seems silly but I don't use sites like that, I am old enough to pay for it.
If I want it I find it on a service I already use or I buy the series and rip the discs and put it on my jellyfin server

The offhand preference for the daggers still favors Twashter and Mpu Gandring.
Won't disagree with that, and really its not exactly a great argument to say mythic may keep pace if you dont mind a perpetual money dump via ampulla, just thought kicking the ws up to a baseline 7 hits at 2.5~/hit where 5 of those hits are at 99% acc cap/2 95% should do amazing for something you can just drop at 1k, striking making 2 of those hits +1.08~(likely using emp head so +1.39 atleast?) should make it very respectable imo

Ampulla is awesome on DNC as well and coming down rapidly in price. One of the best jobs for Ampulla if you can stomach the gil sink.

Love this. Am I right in thinking that if I load my GEO gear lua and press fill, then it has the possibility of removing some of my gear from other jobs?
Ideally, it would be great to be able to select multiple job gear luas to make sure they are all in wardrobe so one job doesn't remove another job's gear.
For clarity: I want all my SAM, COR, BRD gear to stay inside wardrobes and NEVER leave. If I use this for my GEO to place everything in wardrobes too, I risk kicking out gear I've already put in and that's not good.
It would be great to use this for multiple jobs at a time because then users can see what they have in wardrobes that they aren't even using in their gear luas.
Hi Kazaki,
Great question and suggestion.
FILL will only remove gear from a wardrobe if your wardrobes are already full. SWAP will exchange unused gear for needed gear even if your wardobe isn't full.
Your idea of selecting multiple job files at once is a very good one and not something I considered.
I’m going to start working on this today. The implementation should be fairly straightforward (essentially merging the required gear from multiple files into a single table before generating the plan).
I’ll post an update once it’s ready.

My 02 champions/original digi destined display finished
That is super cool!
Also you have tripped a land mine that is my rage over OG Digimon streaming.
Did you know that disney+ has it so you can watch it there?
Well they "have it" meaning they have episodes 5,13,14,16,35,40,44,46,48,54... WTF who did this why did they do it and all it did was make my mad when i say it and watched to watch it with my son. I click play and am greeted with the opening to episode 5, mind boggling decision.
Idk if it is to prevent anyone from having it so they just license a couple episodes or some kinda "research" was done and they found "people seem to like to watch these episodes so that is all we need"
This is why i have my jellyfin server
/rant over (rage still present)

Spoiler Alert! Click to view.
War (on fatties) never changes. Actually it was in the 20th century that fat became problematic.
I was a fat kid. In the 1950s at family gatherings my great aunts used to pinch my cheek affectionately and tell my grandmother "Rose you have a healthy one here."
Healthy meant fat. In a positive way. For kids at least. Until the 1920s it applied to adults that way too.

Oh yeah, it doesn't necessarily make sense to use Tier 3 spheres (vs. selling them to cover costs) depending on your financial situation, but I just meant that you always want to make the highest level skillchain you can due to the point rewards.
|
|
 |
|

I've fought it a bunch and had the same issues with randomly getting unlucky with back to back TP mobs etc. Could be MDB down aura, could be his autos giving you MDB down, or some other issue.
Also: the damage might START at 60% of your max HP and scale up with debuffs.
I agree, I prefer PLD on this fight, and yeah both tanks have easy SC options. RUN is faster, PLD is safer. Neither is immune to the BS, gotta be careful

The same move that gives -hp down gives -mdb. Without aegis' magic dmg reduction it's an almost guaranteed one shot regardless of hp.
|
|
 |
|
In fact, the point progression (1 -> 2 -> 5 -> 15 -> 15) means it's best to always make the shortest chain possible (1 -> 5 -> 15 -> 15) because any alternative path is actually less efficient per sphere tier.
While this is true for speed, it's also WAY more expensive in gil, because those 15s are each 40k and use the most expensive spheres. It will add up quickly. If you only do this pattern and never break or HQ, you'd spend 111,000,000 in just t3 catalysts, plus 22m in t2 catalysts.
For reference, most of my shields i spent a little over 40m in total catalyst costs.
If you're getting the spheres for free you could consider those "free" or cheap, but there's no such thing as a free lunch, opportunity costs, etc.
Got money to burn, go for it, but do recognize it is an expensive path to take

Amazing idea! I've been trying (and failing) to do something like this for so long. THANK YOU
