Confirmed, now this fight is feasible to be soloed by RDM in VD with Cornelia to cap haste and additional Acc/Macc; and with AF+4, Alabaster and Murky additional Acc/Macc.

It found something I really didn't want people to find (I deleted it), not against the project in principle but its likely going to put more eyeballs on some authors stuff than they'd like. (people who back stuff up for personal use, were not the original author, have half baked/experiment/under development branches, don't want to support randos using their code etc...)

If people care about keeping their code private I'd recommend bitbucket over github anyways. (not an expert here, but when I wanted to back up sensitive code (not ffxi related) the terms of use seemed much more palatable several years ago (i set stuff up and roll with it until I feel there's good reason not to), someone more in the know may have a better recommendation).

You can always make the repo private if you have no intention of sharing it outside of a closed circle, and invite those you wish to have access to view it. I don't really understand this argument, honestly. If you leave it publicly viewable, anyone can find it, not just me with my crawler held together with duct tape and a prayer, anyone who can type the right search term into github. If you have zero intention of sharing something, you can, once again, just make the repo private, nobody is going to be able to find it then.

Nobody is going to accidentally find something if they're actively searching for (and people who do this tend to have a much better idea of what they're doing anyways) that's actually how I found the addon in question and I don't want to take credit/blame for something I did not write (the couple folks I shared it with it seemed to be gone from the location I originally found it, or I'd just point them there). Meanwhile a site like this is a flashing arrow towards something that for the few people with the wherewithal to search for something doesn't bother me, its more attention than I'd want for something I did not write.

tldr: people who snoop are much less in number and better aware of risks than those who may use a site like this.

For the stuff I do write that I think is sharable its great, really don't care who uses/steals/contributes/forks/etc... my stuff or what for go make yourself happy. (anything I care about will never make it to a public repository)

I'm not upset, I just took care of it on my end.

Maybe just provide instructions to exclude stuff (a noffxiaddon tag or something)

Some of the trust logic issue (who overwrites what buffs or if they do AoE) can be solved just by calling different trusts. I do wish they'd update the logic in a couple of them for differentiation though. (or introduce a couple new ones, not that we need more as most are useless)

The global problems are they are too squishy, too weak and use WS like a dunes newb. Hopefully these updates can address that (I'm optimistic about the first 2, not so much the 3rd)

I'd like to see some improvements, but the real solution is make friends and invite people. (easier said than done, I know)

I'm gonna throw this here for reference. I've been trying out several different skillchain combos with Varga and depending on how good your buffs are there are five skillchains that I've come up with that have strong results. The light skillchain makes fusion into double light, and the four step darkness chains make detonation into gravitation into darkness. Triple maru is just grav into darkness.

Double Light

Maru --> Shijin --> Smite --> Smite

Darkness

Maru --> Maru --> Maru
Raging --> Maru --> Maru --> Maru
Raging --> Tornado --> Maru --> Maru
Howling --> Tornado --> Maru --> Maru

I also did a lot of maru testing and the results we came up with are approximated as

40% str/40% dex
1000 - 3.0
2000 - 7.0
3000 - 11.5

Varga is a lot better when you're heavily buffed, and maru fills some holes that let you do skillchains with our best weaponskills. Maru's stat mods are fine tbh. Swapping between varga and godhands for impetus up and down, or alternating between light with impetus and the darkness otherwise can both have good results.

Good job OP, I found some new stuff thanks to you.

everyone else should stop whining and go post in a thread they care about instead of bicker over what "normal players may do" even tho its a 30 year old game

Impulse drive from sam/drg/war also works on A/E. As does koki from Sam on B/F and koki doesn't usually require a light threnody.

There's these issues with the Trust system imho

1) There's a lot of useless Trusts which have no purpose at all, other than "oh! I love this NPC from the story/quest!"
2) Survivability, accuracy, magic accuracy, damage
3) They do AoE tagging mobs in your surrounding and inevitably dying short after in synergy with the previous point
4) Their (weak) WS interrupt your SC/multistep
5) Their *** annoying Haste creates issues with Haste 2 logic/application
6) Their buff duration is ridiculous (mostly just songs tbf, rest is okaysh?)

2) might be eventually solved by this first step they're implementing. I still think a couple of tanks could use a bit more DT (EV has some, August is fine with wings up) but that's "individual adjustment" and we're not in that step, yet

4) is easily solved by a global command "/trustws on-off", there, solved it. Don't need to include WSs that have no SC properties like Spirits Within, Dagda etc

I don't see a simple solution for 3.
6 could be solved by giving bard trusts a bit of duration? They don't have to give us 12 mins songs, but 2 mins is preposterous, especially with that shitty potency.
I see no simple solution for 5 either, other than individually adjusting the logic of RDM trusts?
1 again is no simple solution. This is a problem mostly because they keep saying they "reached the cap for number of trusts they can add". If we had no such issue they could keep adding trusts and at that point who cares if a lots are useless, but since we do have this issue then it's a problem.
They should re-purpose some trusts and give them at least some degree of meaning/utility, at least to some of them.
By Akumasama on 2026-02-25 01:07:14
In the Aminon setup though (not necessarily 9 bosses) you have RDM and GEO though, not one or the other like in the typical 8boss melee setup xD

We let the GEO use Judgment tipically and the RDM is on Black Halo.

Honestly I see no other chances other than uhm... RDM could use Fast Blade 3 I guess if they have it, or Imperator. And GEO of course could Dagda?
I mean in terms of feasible WS options but I'm not sure which issues they would create with the SC thing which was the main goal of this topic after all, right?
By Genoxd on 2026-02-25 01:02:05
RDM can replace GEO and would also do black halo to help with WS wall (also it does good damage)

Hello fellow FFXI enjoyers!
Nice project, I know it would be useful to me given my little experience with melee setup.
Where is the RDM in your setup though? XD
Or the DNC, duh!

The issue with BRD/DNC not liking DW appears to be more "Null Shawl is very strong when you don't need DT", especially when using TP Bonus off-hands that need accuracy.
This makes sense, but it also sort of doesn't.
Allow me to elaborate!

First of all, in the specific setup I used, acc shouldn't matter.
Yes I did use Centovente OH, but I put Marcato HM, Blade Madrigal, Bolster Precision, Bolster Torpor and Sublime Sushi +1.
Accuracy is overcapped even for OH, so the acc on Null Shawl shouldn't matter. I did that on purpose because I wanted to exclude acc.
This makes the back slot boil down to STP7/DA7 vs DW+10.
DW reduces the amount of time between melee hits, but also slightly reduces the TP per hit value.
Can Null Shawl be better? It certainly can, granted it shouldn't be a huge difference in that case, but ok I can see it being better.

Problem is... why does the simulation pick Brutal+SailfiR15 as biS options (creating another DW11 difference) but if Null Shawl is absent then Eabani+Reiki is BiS?

The Cape difference seems a bit extreme as I explained above, but the fact that slot difference creates this other difference really makes no sense to me and I cannot explain it other than "there's some error in the calculations somewhere".

I'm just explaining that shortcuts have to be taken and shortcuts will miss things, general problem scope stuff.

I've used the simulator to just check for optimal setups but its non-deterministic so you almost need to monte carlo it. Although if you have to squint to figure out which is better the actual answer is it probably doesn't matter because of the game RNG and just other things happening anyways.

problem is we dont know if that is the case mathematically ( or at least i dont with the known information)
we just know for sure that is not always pareto optimal for the giving values. How far the given solution is for the pareto border is not necessarily always just small.
By Goltana101 on 2026-02-24 22:56:07
Maybe I'm misreading that list, but it shows DNC using Savage Blade in several places. I assume that should be Rudra's Storm.
By waffle on 2026-02-24 19:50:51
Well, back when they first announced this they mentioned AI changes down the line. The also mentioned a "gear" system like automaton attachments. But they also said this aspect (buffing stats directly through a "rp type system") was going to come first.

On that note, they said they'd be previewing this is a Freshly Picked before the update, iirc. Do we have a date for that?

Also, it seems that the final besieged update that was scheduled for January originally might still not be in.

Fire threnody lands easily on A/E C/G no issues

You only need threnody, possibly some mixed acc food like a rolanberry daifuku if you werent using such already. Threnodys the main bit though, same if you were to use jinpu though im not sure which had an easier macc check(think jinpu?) Itll melt either way

Does Kagero work well on E? I thought it needed special setup to use in basement due to m.acc and such
By Felgarr on 2026-02-24 18:17:13
I updated the blue table to remove Fudo from A/E Boss because Savage Blade > Fudo makes Distortion and we want to avoid water-aligned Skillchains for A/E.

SE should seriously implement FF12's Gambit system for this new trust system. One can dream I guess.

With trust stat boosts, now you can play Brd for Zeid II to DD.

You're welcome.

You absolutely know they won't. They clearly say battle parameters. Hoxne earring. You're getting more CHR INT MND etc. Not "Roll Potency +7". They even explicitly say they want to shift away from support based trusts and power them up for "solo play". I take that to mean they want them to be stronger and worth using as more than buff batteries

Yeah I always thought it was unlikely that the buffs will be improved but I've been entertaining a small amount of hope. I know they're going to raise the basic parameters like MND/INT etc. because it's in the announcement. I wouldn't expect a Geomancy+ boost like you get with Idris or Bagua Charm but if they raised Sylvie's geomancy and handbell skill that could give a boost.
It's likely a pipe dream, though.

I do want to be able to recall trusts if they die in the middle of a battle, similar to how you can raise party members, and I want trusts to not be dismissed when you get charmed. I know that's not included in what they've announced but that would make a big difference to me without making them overpowered. Calling a trust is treated as a spell but it's a spell you can't cast when you have enmity. It seems silly to me since you can cast raise in the middle of a fight. It would still be subject to the recast-time limitation even if the enmity-lockout was removed.

Yeah, perhaps.... allow players to order Trust, to a degree......

An option to toggle on/off when they WS/what WS. Otherwise, they WS whenever they want/whatever they want. Have not played retail in months, doubt much has changed since then.

Interesting update. However, this grind is the reason I have not played retail in months lol.

Exp, on top of exp, on top of exp......

Armor upgrades, on top of armor upgrades, on top of armor upgrades.....

etc, etc......

(This does not run counter to my earlier statement about authors opting out of the directory, I will honour that, absolutely, but not being on my website does not mean your addon is somehow granted a cloak of invisibility)

Edit: I see you mention a crawler, so you're scraping Github search result based on tags or something I assume via cronjobs/schedule?

You're pretty much spot on. It's just a bunch of search and code-search queries with some deduplication and some logic to handle github's rate limiting, and a cron job to run a daily update that runs a similar search, but limited to uploads/updates in the past couple days, which is checked against current data.

Give them 9999 hp 9999 mp 999 BP

They're already "good enough" to do all (except TVR finale?) missions. They're "good enough" to get 99 and master and Ml50.

I did complete the TVR final battle solo with trusts on Monk with Dancer subjob, but it took me about 30 tries and I finally beat it during the Alter Ego Expo Campaign HQ when the trusts have more HP/MP, more resistance to status ailments, and can avoid dying once per fight. This was almost two years ago, I wasn't even using Gearswap and didn't really understand the gearing system yet. It's probably possible to beat it in a non-campaign month but it would still be impressive to me. NextGames posted a video that showed him doing the fight with trusts.

I mainly want to know if the increased stats will increase the potency of Sylvie's geomancy buffs.
