Anything else you recommend?

I mentioned a few other things in my post above. Can do Bunzi's Hat to R25 if you're able too.

How does STP vs DA work? the feet would be dropping 4%DA for 5STP

You're comparing BASE Revelation to R25 Nyame. You're gonna get 1 more DA on Nyame and that's it. Revelation feet (if you ever choose) is going to improve over time because of augments, caps at 6%. It also has critical hit rate, which will improve your dps as well.

I don't really know how to quantify DA vs STP on paper/text, sims can tell you straight up (but it also depends on a number of other factors); some people compare it on a 1:1 basis. I prefer to look at it on a per-round basis. You won't double attack every round (unless you have Hoxne ampulla, but thats another conversation), so DA gear has only effects when it procs (finite value), but you will gain the benefit of STP every single round. Also, DA caps at 100% because you can't proc DA twice on same swing. STP has no cap (suffers from diminishing returns like anything else, but less value > no value).

This is an oversimplification of the stats, but its how I compare pieces when they are very close in values. Doesn't apply to TA/QA but it's kind of close gauge for DA:STP.

Thanks for the help, gonna get to work on this after work

You're already using 2 Ayanmo pieces, which have ***defensive traits comparably, and Volte tights have no DT. Upgrading to Revelation Body/legs at the very least is an improvement for sure. You can decide on the feet if you want to be cheap and not spend, Nyame are fine defensively and OK offensively, but Revelation set is just straight upgrade for what you're wearing from what I can see. You're not becoming any more squishy than you already are, you're gaining defense.

And almost nothing in Sortie is physical damage, so that's not much of a concern either.

Is 8STP better than 7DA? You're right, I was looking at the wrong legs like an idiot. I'd be going from no DT on volte tights to having 7% on the limbus legs.

Sorry, I initially said no Limbus gear because I was thinking you need to R30 it first but I was mistaken.

So I should switch to Limbus legs and body asap, drop my belt for sailfi+1 R15. Drop telos for sup earring. Anything else you recommend?

And then switching my feet eventually.

Nal haven't been active (posting at least) since November of last year, so unless someone had a recent version I think it's pretty much gone. Or someone can make their own version.

I honestly don't remember what the addons did. I think I had an early version of one of them.
By jarhead402011 on 2026-03-05 12:48:24
But im already TPing in 44% pdt with my current TP set. Becoming even more squishy sounds horrible for sortie no?

I wouldn't have a negative thing to say about Dokoku 4/5 if Naegling wasn't in the picture...

Alright guys, im back

main="Naegling",
sub="Fusetto +2",

body="Ayanmo Corazza +2",
hands="Bunzi's Gloves",
legs="Volte Tights",
feet="Nyame Sollerets",
neck={ name="Bard's Charm +2", augments={'Path: A',}},
waist="Reiki Yotai",
left_ear="Eabani Earring",
right_ear="Telos Earring",
left_ring="Moonlight Ring",
right_ring="Moonlight Ring",
back={ name="Intarabus's Cape", augments={'DEX+20','Accuracy+20 Attack+20','DEX+10','"Store TP"+10','Phys. dmg. taken-10%',}},

That is my current TP set as bard, i do not own other volte pieces, i do not own ashera harness. Bunzi is r0 because i do not currently have a clear or RP

I am subbing dancer way more often so my 11 DW is not hitting any thresholds, im under capped without haste samba and im over capped if i do haste samba. I tend to forget to haste samba but usually try to remember on bosses in sortie. But regular mobs? I never do even though i know i should

Is double attack or stp better on the cape? Should i go dual wield on it?

what would you recommend I change to be better at tping?

And lets ignore the limbus armor as options for now pls

No real reason to ignore the limbus armor. R0 is more ontainable for people than most other gear and body/leg/feet are mostly BIS

I don't normally post but I 100% agree with this. The addons were well done and I just took up BST and would love to use the addon you made.

well, outside of limbus, there's nothing higher than capped damage and its very possible for a zesho meppo to hit 85k with aria of passion, and 95-99k with soulvoice. I also found I can increase my damage with alabaster mantle+hoxne earring R8 by 1,800. If you have Innin+yain:ichi, thats a total of -35~45 enmity down no risk of dying to wave 3 enemies if you have a crappy tank, which was mostly the reason I considered playing nin. its a good weapon in my opinion for those who enjoy playing nin

I have s4 Laphria and s3 Helheim. For WAR, I would definitely go with Great Axe first. Great sword for WAR isnt bad, but it feels like there are less skillchain options. WAR does not get Torcleaver, leaving Resolution and Ground Strike as the alternate WS options. My current plan is to get a s4 Foenaria for my up-and-coming DRK before I worry about the s4 Helheim. At s3 on WAR, Helheim is only being used in Sortie (basically only for Leshonn and Gartell fights) and the rest of the time I am using Laphria. If I had the s4 Helheim, I probably still would prefer Laphria is nearly all situations.

Fimbulvetr feels like a nuke of a weapon skill, but there aren't really great second options WS for WAR, meaning you would be relying on the other DD to use other weapon skills to keep you off the wall (sortie basement bosses, etc). With that being said, Fimbulvetr spam gives distortion and darkness and feels good.

Laphria is what I use almost all of the time, except for when Naegling, Loxotic Mace +1, or Shining One is needed. My Chango has effectively been retired since I got the s4 Laphria. Generally speaking, the skillchain options on Laphria are better. I also like the Double Attack on Laphria, which opens up other equipment slots for other gears. Disaster is fun... sometimes it drops a bomb, sometimes it misses, and sometimes it hits for like 1800 damage. Regardless of the outcome, a disaster is always guaranteed.

It's worth mentioning that the extra macc on Kusanagi is only present on St5 (and it's incredibly small). Doji has the same macc (and more mdmg) as Kusa St4.

I've tried both (St4 vs Doji) for hybrids and IME, the Doji is more consistent. You also don't have to keep up AM which is a nice bonus.

Best non AH camping way to get Vomp Carrots? I used three Porcelain flowerpots and Wildgrass Seeds feeding earth like BG says but got random other items. I cant race yet so no way to use chocobucks either. Just wondering if there is a more reliable way before my chick is grown and needs them. I have some carrot paste already. Thanks.
Go over to the Chocobo Racing thread and ask if anyone on your server can spare some? (I mean you can pay them in gil but generally you get what I mean.)

Don't forget prime AM. Its still not bringing it to Ukon levels but it adds up quick.

We did a LS segment run for fun, GA s5 vs GKT s5 and I ended up winning the parse with GA. Obviously there are tons of factors but the results were surprising.

AH's table is somewhat out of date, and has been for a while.

Today - initially there was a report of Vet-Fishing being Moat Carp - by AH's table, this means pattern G, which is also Deodorizer and Lauan Shield.

If you look at https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Guild_Points/Items, you can see Moat Carp is both pattern D and G. AH thinks pattern D is "Phanauet Newt" which has a note of "replaced by moat carp" here https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Phanauet_Newt

"So, just follow the other wiki table?" Nope, they have wrong info too. Pattern D alchemy says "Wax Sword", but the "Wax sword" page says "replaced by Tsurara".

If everything was working correctly and fully up to date, the initial report of Moat Carp would have highlighted patterns D and G. The second report of (Adept) Cheval Salmon would've narrowed that to D only, and then you would've seen Workbench/Tsurara/Shell Earring.

SAM gets TP so fast even for Hybrids I use Prime for the extra macc. Add in Mpaca head and Moonshade and the TP bonus from Aeonic isn't as big of a deal on SAM as it in on other jobs.

Mumei wrecks Fudo as others have said, its really not close. 10/10 would make prime GKT again.

Gkatana is one of the few primes that is a clear winner and next step in a jobs weapon progression. 100% worth getting if you use sam for anything.

Even at stage4 it will be your best physical ws option on sam, by quite a bit. Hybrids should still favor aeonic.

To me the most disappointing part of it is sure it's only about even with savage blade at the moment and between the other benefits its probably generally better than naegling for now but the stat mods are so bad. 25 dex and agi vs savage blade 50 str and mnd so as we get more stats savage blade can pull ahead just like it did to blade: ten which used to be much more comprable to savage.

There is absolutely no way I'm grinding 8.5m gallimaufry to be "only about even with savage blade". I have had the max set for Zesho for a long time and could tell at stage 4 the weapon was not going to be as strong as I hoped it would be, which I feel is another shameful Ninja slight. It was okay in Sortie not using Savage for WS Wall, but it wasn't better, since most fights are short anyways, white damage ia mostly irrelevant. It did fine like soloing a/c objective. However, to get those numbers mentioned above, you need REALLY high effective TP. Kunim offhand is significantly weaker than just Hitaki when spamming Zesho meppo, but that's just the power of TP bonus. You'll need a couple extra seconds worth of TPing to get those numbers.

I've joined both Limbus and Sortie PUGs as Ninja and at least in one event someone explicitly said said "Buukki can you just use Savage blade?" (lol) and in the other I specifically switched to savage blade because the damage was simply better. Being able to SC off of savage is definitely a plus, but it's also heavily dependent on timing and not something you can bank on. For example, it occasionally occurs in Limbus but with everyone constantly switching to the same mob, it's out of your control.

When I'm solo without buffs, Dokoku is exceptionally weaker than just Heishi 5-stepping or hybrids, so it's not even a use case for that. It's easier for a simple 3-step MB though. This is coming from someone who loves Ninja to death and has everything for it, besides ml50.

I can't find any situation where I'd want to bring Ninja and this weapon that would encourage me to stage 5 it. I'm sure if I made the weapon to 5 I'd use it more, but from what I've seen, unless I'm killing apex trash (and I can 99k chi/to those with trust buffs, literally), it isn't making me play Ninja anymore than I already do, which is rarely. I hoped different but it's really just what it is.

I'm also on the fence about Spalirisos for the same reasons. I know it's going to be disappointingly weaker than Savage blade, and that takes away a lot of the shine of prime weapons like I have said before. Which sucks because I wish these 1 hangers didn't have Naegling to compete with, it discourages people from putting effort towards stage 5.

For S5 I have literally almost zero doubts.
I was more pondering on S4 I guess.

I have enough Galli for a S4 and honestly I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna find the strength to get a second S5, which implies I might be stuck on S4 forever or for an incredibly long time.

And at that point you wonder, is it worth it? Should I just keep those galli stored and see what happens in the next ~6 months?
Because I'm sure for several other weapons the question is a solid "yes, it's still very very worth it", for GKT in particular though, given the things I mentioned in the previous post, I was getting more tepid feelings about it =/

Does anybody want to share their experience with Prime S4/S5 and Tachi: Mumei?

The few times I was in party (Sheol C and Limbus) with someone the average damage was very good.
Looking ad the stats of Tachi: Mumei though, it doesn't seem particularly, noteworthy?
Its stats are similar to Tachi: Fudo but it scales slightly better as you go further up with TP. 11 vs 8 at 3k for instance.
7,3 vs 5,75 at 2k.
3.66 vs 3.75 at 1k so actually slightly worse there.

Mods are <50% STR+DEX vs Fudo's 80% STR.

So... uhm, it's good, but not particularly impressive?
Considering Fudo gets 500 TP bonus on Doji and 10% damage on Masa (plus a shitton of STR).

What's left then? Other than the obvious prime aftermath and the extremely interesting SC properties, which realistically only matter for stuff where you're the only melee on (and for that stuff, it's gonna be reaaal nice).

Because despite my experience with other users where I noticed very very good performance, but I can't say if they were S4 and S5, on paper I'm left to think that Prime is gonna make a noticeable difference compared to other options (Doji/Masa) only at S5, whereas at S4 it's gonna be ehhhh, maybe a bit better but more or less kinda on the same boat?

Would love to hear more opinions if I missed something important or underestimated something.
I sure hope I did!
