Gonna regretfully say no. Yes, the healer trust will pro/shell as soon as you summon them, but that's not as useful as you'd think since (i don't think?) you can summon them in instances like gaol or htmb or anything else where you'd really really wanna be buffed before engaging instead of waiting for monberaux to do his little buffy job ability thing.

I think the one thing Fellows are really good for is allowing you to have 2 little pet hp bars stacked at the bottom of your screen when you're on a pet job. Maybe not being so lonely if you have to farm some coffer key or quest item in the overworld.

Does anyone have a chocobo skillup area guide that is current? I am currently A45 or A40 in Yuhtunga Jungle because of the possibility there might be still skill up test items but I am not sure of that. I heard from someone that they only used 3 areas to skill up at?

Also, is Egg Helm really that useful? I never got the message "Your chocobo appears to have gained valuable knowledge..." from any of the eggs. Maybe they are a waste at some point.

When I first got dokoku, I also experienced the disappointment. I just kept testing it and swapping items around in my set till I finally got it to push out some damage. I completely forgot to record naegling as well in the video, but I am positive it would have been 99k savages, even then I don’t want to be a naegling nin. My whole reason of putting up all the comments is to just showcase that it’s not a horrible as everyone thinks. What does suck about the katana is that you need a lot of STATS to get the damage higher. Not alot of players are going to have ml50, r30,+2 ear so their damage is going to be 10-15k under mine and that’s a huge difference. I’m at 49% pdl from gear, am3 on my own + 44.2% from stage 5 brd, so 93.2%. If I were to get rid of the geo in the video, I feel pretty confident it can still push out close to 80-90k by applying Tachi: ageha, dia 3 and eating food. Also the reason I think the katana is can come close to other primes is because they’re restricted to the Cap, except for limbus.

@Dele nope none of the frustration is targeted to you, you’ve always been supportive. I just wanted to see the latest version up there so that it doesn’t create version confusion.
Also a bunch of people have reached out about the BST-HUD and SMN-HUD in PMs, so more than happy for you to host all three addons.

If you could ping me on discord « nalfey » I’ll send the latest and greatest.

Will do, thanks very much

Affection now begins at max. You are max tieted affection if you get "regards you as a parent"
First priortiy is fix the status effect if there is one. From what I see, celerity fixes everything. One corrective action or food is enough. After that maintain max affection. Sharug or azouoh should be its favorite green. You will kbow its the favorite if the eating message when eating a single green is something along the lines of "swallows in a single gulp." You can feed one item at a time until the message is "chocobo is completely full" appears. You can feed one item at "almost full" without issue. I'll get back to the effect of zegham carrots in a few days. You can feed it those if you wamt to hope it matters until day 30 when you switch care plans as listed above. Vomp can replace zegham as an adult, given affection is maxed, there are no ailments, and str is nor capped.

Gallop is learned from story of impatient chocobo. This is recieved from short/medium walks depending on your country. You can teach it to an adol bird with "a bit deficient" discernment or higher. Read it the story until it learns the ability. Canter is recoeved from long walks. You will be average or better discernment when you get this, so it can be learned immediately (potentially). If there are no abilities to learn or ailments to address, walk until you cant and be done.
I'm pretty sure the difference between brisk vs leisurly walk is just if you want the to see the cutscene or not.
Los if typos because I'm on my phone and apparently I'm blind, but I think the message is clear

What should I feed it while it's a chick and adolescent?

@Daleterrence you’ve got some balls to put my work up on your github without even asking me.

Reading through this thread, and with little-to-no knowledge about yourself as a person, I had been lead to believe the series of events were;

1) You uploaded some fantastic addons you had made to GitHub, and shared them here on FFXIAH.
2) You were at a later point, banned from FFXI, and upon a GDPR request, it was mentioned one of the reasons you may have been banned was distributing third-party tools. In an abundance of caution, you deleted your addons.
3) You went inactive on these forums after being banned, and until now, had not participated publicly.

I'm sure you can appreciate, and understand, why I would come to the assumption that you had left the FFXI community entirely. I had no point of contact for you, apart from a FFXIAH PM, of which, due to your inactive state within the community from a public point of view, I would've expected no response from.

I apologise if you consider my reuploading of your addon as a slight, or attack on your person, but it is very much the opposite, as I believe you made something incredibly helpful, very useful, and believed that in uploading it for others to use, they could appreciate and make use of your work too. I have never, and continue to not hold any ill will towards you as a person.

I’m still playing the game I just don’t want to be part of this toxic forum after the way you guys treated me in this thread.

Whilst I feel this is not targeted at me directly, I still feel the need to actively request you do not lump me with the individuals who attacked you, or argued with you.

The only interactions I have had with you personally and directly, have been two responses towards the beginning of the thread, and both were exceedingly positive.

Holy ***I didn't think you'd actually do it, you absolute legend, thank you!

Saying all of that, and ignoring the particulars of licenses and all of that nonsense, should you desire I take your addon down, whilst I will be genuinely saddened to do so, I'll absolutely do that. Please try and remember that there is a whole community outside of these forums who do very much appreciate your work, and would very much like to use it.

--------------------

On a more general point, this is not directed at you Nalfey...

There's been a lot of talk to licenses and legality in this thread, and whilst I agree it's important to protect yourself in that direction, I feel a lot of commentors have lost sight of just.. being a decent person. Windower addons are code for a Lua API for a MMO that is 23 years old, with a very, very niche community. By immediately jumping to "oh this doesn't have this license" (for the record, JSE is using BSD-3 Clause, and has the entire time, as is recommended by the Windower development team) or "oh this is the particulars of this license", you're taking an incredibly cynical, almost immediately hostile point of view, that is really, unneeded. This does not have to be as big of a deal as you are making this out to be. Yes, it's important to follow those best practices. But it should not, and really does not, need to be the first port of call. A lot of these discussions can be sorted out just by talking to each other. End of the day, we're all just people that love an old MMO. Try and remember that, instead of immediately assuming the other side has hostile or malicious intentions.

OP had a license inside the source code

In that case, that license says "Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without modification, are permitted" and author cannot be whining about people distributing it.
By Dodik on 2026-03-06 05:49:33
Hm, all this could be avoided if the code had a license attached.

Situation here came about from code being shared with no license to say what anyone can do with it after they download it.

Author is getting upset that that code is now being shared, which I sympathise with since author didn't add a license on it. Which is why I said I would not share the copy I have.

However, when author shares code online, author should know that it will be available on the Internet from that point forward. If author wanted only themselves to distribute it then they should be attaching an appropriate license.

The onus is on the author to make it clear what anyone can do with their work. Otherwise, people will do what they want, case in point.

I don't think calling people names helps much either way.

@Daleterrence you’ve got some balls to put my work up on your github without even asking me.

Again you guys keep exaggerating things and trying to find deep meanings in everything I say. Just learn how to read ffs. I never asked Dale to remove what he posted on his GH, what he did is exactly in accordance with my copyright, he didn’t change anything and kept my name and all.
And yes it’s just good manners to PM me and ask first don’t you think ? Even if it’s just to get the latest version, or bundle up all the other addons in the same place on Dale’s github. If being decent means it’s emotional for you then fine call it what ever you want.

You guys just assumed that I was gone because I didn’t send messages on the forum for 3-4 month, grow the *** up seriously. So quick to flame and troll but unable press the *** PM button and show some kind of decency or appreciation for the *** addon you’re all crying about.
You’re terrible people, trying to have this tough badass geeky developer facade, you would never act like this in person.

I do wonder if Savage Blade would hit the cap or do same numbers under similar buffs, even without the AM3 PDL. That's still kind of my issue there. It took every single buff to make that kind of damage, if Savage under same buffs can hit those or damage cap consistently, its disappointing that a weapon class of C rank on Ninja that can be obtained in an hour can put out similar/better numbers than a weapon that takes 5+ months to build.

Idk about you guys, but I've literally never hit 99,999 on NIN SB, unless it's a qutrub or some ***.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before but the probable holdup on registering your fellow as a trust is that you need to be engaged for trusts to do anything, whereas fellows have their own logic that works whether you're engaged or not.

Dunno if this is a technical limitation of trusts or what, but it'd be a downgrade for a fellow and kind of a bummer.
Are fellows reasonably useful? If so in what roles. I imagine healer? Someone who could pro/shell prior to getting one shotted on pull would be nice

His listed raising plan is still ideal. 2 points for a day is minor but its less chocobucks spent on stats. I'm doubtful the difference will be enormous and may only matter until (or maybe starting on?) certain days.
Id say do the plan he listed. Save vomp carrots until you start delivering messages and stop when str is maxed. Early DSC/RCP care plans likely will negate your str bonuses from vomp. Feed greens or zegham if you want to be safe. I absolutely dont think watch over or leisurly walks are meccessary anymore. Just do brisk until you cant and call it good. Switch to you're birds favorite green if affection drops below cap. Affection and fixing conditions are probably the most important part of food.

Sidenote: I have a bird on each of 3 characters made in like 2009. 2/3 were pretty nuch forgotten after day 30 after care plans were changed. None havea any abilities, max str and between below average and almost max end. No rcp/dsc. They win chocobucks at a failry tolerable rate. I doubt they'd finish all the challenge races and you wouldnt want to breed with them, but they get bucks. Even fairly neglected birds have some potential if all you want is bucks

My first bird can't even win the very first 'test your choco' / 'just don't be last' race where it's only 4 birds. I'm not exaggerating when I say my first bird is 4th place /last every single time, so I started over with this new bird, which just hatched yesterday. I did watch over it 150 times in the first 4 days. I want to make sure that I'm doing everything correctly for each phase of it's life.

Could you explain it like I'm 5? What actions do I take and foods do I feed while (1) a chick (2) adolescent and (3) adult? Sorry, I suck at this. :/

Parsing is kind of hard to compare because of others players engaging time, weaponsets, Nyame gear, enemy resistance. But I notice the 2handers miss a lot of weaponskills. I saw a GK Sam miss mumei 2-3 times on a limbus enemy, he had to do 5 mumeis to kill it lol

They miss 5% of the time, one out of twenty WS's. Just .. you don't get to choose which 5%.

I hate chocobo raising so much. I'm going to just:

Walk Leisurely until I can't anymore
Watch over it until I can't anymore
Feed 3 vomp carrots/day

It's still a chick. I need a racer to win races and earn chocobucks. Any other suggestions from now until Day 29? (Also, what do I do at day 129 when it automatically retired?)

This is my mood right now:
