If they were, a lot of people would be complaining. Do you already have the drops somewhere? are you accounting for low drop rates on lower difficulty?

I just want a prime weapon that's not SAM/DRG/BRD to feel like it makes a difference.

2 handers including staff seem plenty strong to me, 1 handers are largely alright if you take naegling out of the equation for those it applies to, still have the SC niche/avoids WS wall too. Not sure what you were expecting from them, they're already pretty competitive/overtake other REMAs in their category in many cases

You'd sooner see the other remas get a r30 bump than you would primes start getting augments imo

Likely just give it the +4 af/relic treatment, maybe a touch more in some specific stats. Wouldnt be shocked if they leave it where it is though, seem "done" with ambu
By Vyrerus on 2026-03-14 01:03:23
If they do ever let us upgrade Ambuscade gear to +3, how far do you think they'd take its specs?

Meh, even with the loss of two it's still a metric crapton of TA, and still more than a thf can get.

1 More from a neck

Clotharious or Defiant

Honestly scrap the neck, ammo, ear, ring, and back. Replace with StoreTP. You still end up with like 88% with Gleti/Ternion but now with 40+ store TP which actually makes it servicable, especially since the Sworn set has 360 accuracy vs 30 + whatever you happen to get in augments with that max TA roll on Chironic
By Montigo on 2026-03-13 23:24:56
testing has already been done, it caps at 700 skill

With current gear you can hit 42%

I do not know of any 100% TA builds in existing much less 100% QA builds.

I mean we can figure this out, right? Red mage would certainly be a good candidate with Temper2. Last I checked I'm getting 37 but I'm also not swapping weapons so let's assume best case 40. That's a good starting point.

Gleti's Knife/Ternion +1 - 6/4 (10)
Paeapua - 1
DM Aug Merlinic (5/5) - 4 cap? (20)
Balder earring - 1
Hetaroi ring - 2
Bleating Mantle - 2
Windbuffet belt +1 - 2

So 38 from gear, total 78? Dual-wielding that makes 5.12 swings per attack round on average, but with severe loss of accuracy and storetp compared to what you'd normally wear in those slots.

Rehashing this since Limbus changed things:

Gleti's Knife - 6
Mpu Gandring - 6
Paeapua - 1
Sworn Crown - 6
Sworn Platemail - 8
Sworn Gauntlets - 7
Sworn Brais - 6
Sworn Sabatons - 7
Balder earring - 1
Hetaroi ring - 2
Bleating Mantle - 2
Windbuffet belt +1 - 2
Temper2 - 42

RDMs can now get 96% TA.

I wonder what they're gonna do with Limbus matters.
They're in an odd position.
For the first ~21 ranks of something you're likely gonna be low on matters, sitting on points if you're unlucky with drops or chests.
Past that threshold you need so many points for each upgrade (and you get like, what, ~9.5k points for a full 135 run including the 3k chest?) that you will eventually be sitting on matters with not enough points.

Rinse & repeat when you start a new item, but it will be slightly faster because you will eventually have leftover matters from the previous item you just brought to R30.

How to solve this? I fear increasing matter drop (like I suggested: 100% from 3k chest, and 2 matters from 5k chest) wouldn't entirely solve it, alone.

I think they need to add a system where on one hand you can buy matters with points, and on the other hand you can also trade matters for points.
With such a system, if the ratio are at least decent, you might have the right flexibility to make upgrading items a bit less frustrating?

I hope they don't make use the matters to upgrade Prime Weapons. I would really hate that. I really dislike Limbus as it stands and forcing me to do Limbus to upgrade my prime weapon would be annoying as hell.

I'd rather SE make Dynamis Beaucedine/Xarcabard (Divergence) and let us earn RP their to upgrade our Prime Weapon. Just wishful thinking :/ ...My expectations are very low after seeing the Fafnir Statue reward. :/

Trusts are definitely stronger. 4/5 survived VD Fenrir when ordinarily they'd get one shot. MM45 AAEV still got mopped by Ongo V25 during aura, so hoping Magic Evasion and Magic Defense Bonus is an upgradeable stat in the future. No trusts died during Ubnai V25 solo even with one add out (normally they start falling apart around this time). The extra HP/INT helps for sure (Valaineral still lost hate).

I'll try them on an Omen boss later and see if Meteor/Comet still obliterates them the same as before.

What's your setup for u bnai solo? I'd be interested to try v25 that way.

So, Curator Moogle is returning to coincide with the Egg Hunt event. The highlighted items are Fafnir Statue and... colored chips?

Quote:
You can also obtain colored chips, which are items needed for the strange apparatus machines, the quest "In the Name of Science," and acquiring rune equipment. This is your chance to easily obtain these items from the Curator Moogle without having to buy them from a shop that is only open during certain hours.

You know, in case waiting for the store to open is too much for you. That could be up to HALF AN HOUR, unacceptable! Better put it on a special event, that's the good QoL stuff right there.

Curator Moogle does seem like a natural place to do one or two of the remaining RSE gear upgrades to 119 version though (hands and feet currently available in connection with the special Fafnir/Kirin DI-like event).
The colored chips are probably to support a future Vana'bout objective.

Place your bets right here, what'll SE decide a 21000 gil item is worth? An arcane flowerpot, a matching colored drop, a platinum ingot, and an egg helm?

One of these days I would *love* to hear the story behind how a game as small as XI ended up with two competing third party community produced applications for hooking into the game and providing addon functionality.

Don't come at me, it's an XI related random question.

Fun fact
Derails happen in conversation, thats a simple topics branch. 99% of the time they die off within a handful of posts. Instead of crying “guize the derail” and throwing fuel on the fire, let it die off.

In general you're right. But this sure wasn't one of the 99%, so I can kinda see the "hey, knock it off" reminders. We're at the third straight day of the derail that started on page 626 and is still going...

I like some games on PC that have mods, I've been playing them recently on my laptop to force some use out of it. Can be fun but a lot of them are over the top.
That's one the reasons I love PC because of the freedom to mod. I usually stick with graphics mods or extending stories & gameplay.
Although, here is an all-timer from Skyrim.
