of course critics hate it. You have to know your critics.
There was a movie critic in a Seattle newspaper long ago who would pan any movie that wasn't deep and meaningful. He had a special hateon for light fluffy comedies. The more he ragged against a comedy the funnier you knew it was.

Being that we cannot know the point value of any thing, it was silly to attempt to assign it a value.
Why are you the way that you are?

You'd have to go out of your way to undercap your haste, because the best belts all have haste on them (Sweordfaetels +1, Sailfi +1, Ioskeha Belt +1). Kentarch's is lacking haste for Da/stp but Alabaster Earring if you're wearing it has 5. Unless you're using some unusual build that has like Hjarrandi body/helm and Gletis breeches, you're almost never at low haste. Maybe in MDT build, but that's specific to defense. I don't know how you could intentionally under gear haste and come out with an advantage STP/MA , the difference doesn't seem that large to matter, so idk
TY I wont dig into this then.

So prepping my Wife's Dragoon.
so her is my question in the case she foes /sam (polearm)
haso + 5/5 empathy wyverne would gives 10+10ja haste for a total of 20.
Adding in 43 from magic that would be a total of 63
leaving me with only a need of 80-63 = 17 to cap haste.
Does it make sense to gear for the situation of hasso+wyrvern out to do a lower haste tp set with more MA/STP and only good suggestions for it ?

Linos can also get a 5% fast cast augment.
Enchntr. Earring +1 is 2% FC, one higher than etiolation and is all jobs.
Bunzi's Hat has FC+10 and DT-7 on it if you want both in your FC set - for non-gearswap sets presumably.
For BRD, the FC is specifically for songs. Linos wouldn't be of much use for that (i.e., can't use it for Honor March, Aria, or dummy songs)

Just going to throw out there that I've found despite eating the 50% damage reduction twice on hybrids, with malaise and hoxne (which isn't that costly to use on SAM) Jinpu can pretty consistently do 90k+ often capped in Limbus. I tried both Empy and Aeonic and both worked well for this, will probably fine tune this more as my sam needs a lot more master levels and work in general. SAM was not a job I really thought about using Hoxne for before but for the hybrids it can do a lot.
Obviously just switch to your preferred physical ws against mobs that are strong to magic.

I use:
Voltsurge (4)
Fili head (16)
Brioso body (15)
Leyline gloves (8)
Kishar Ring (4)
Embla Sash (5)
Ambu cape (10)
Volte Brais (8)
Fili feet (13)
If you have the 5% FC neck from MMM you can drop the Kishar ring.
I forgot Leyline is 8 FC. Thanks for the reminder. I initially had Voltsurge, but I wanted to ensure capped FC and -DT. Having 20 total -DT in my ring slots, to me, was a better choice than 4 FC that I can get somewhere else. The Loricate also has pretty impressive DEF.

So most of us started doing Limbus when it came out (June 2025) and built up a bit more cap before Matters were even added (Sep 2025). Most of us have more units than Matters.
If you started from scratch today, you'd get ~49k units and 3 matter per month. How did I come up with these numbers:
average of 2 5k boxes per week and an extra matter from the NQ boxes. Thats 9000 x 5 units + 4000 from the two extra HQ boxes.
Someone starting new will likely have armor to upgrade from +3 to +4 to offset the cheap starting cost of accessories.

My apologies for taking so long to gather data for you.
I deleted my settings file so it would create a new one. Here's what it created after updating just a couple of settings:
<?xml version="1.1" ?>
<settings>
<global>
<autoCalcVertSpeed>true</autoCalcVertSpeed>
<battleDistance>8.2</battleDistance>
<battleRange>4</battleRange>
<battleRangeLocked>true</battleRangeLocked>
<cameraDistance>6</cameraDistance>
<horizontalPanSpeed>3</horizontalPanSpeed>
<saveOnIncrement>false</saveOnIncrement>
<verticalPanSpeed>10.7</verticalPanSpeed>
</global>
<valak>
<autoCalcVertSpeed>false</autoCalcVertSpeed>
<battleDistance>20.2</battleDistance>
<verticalPanSpeed>30</verticalPanSpeed>
</valak>
</settings>
Here's a clip of initiating combat right after logging in. The zoom level is default. When I hit my zoom-out bind for XICamera, you can see the setting increase to 21.2 and it immediately takes my view way out to that distance. When I hit the zoom-in key to set it back to 20.2, it goes to the correct distance instead of the original default level.
https://youtu.be/70yxEsBKbJ8
I didn't record as I just noticed this, but the vertical camera speed doesn't automatically load up either. When I press up and down it's the standard speed. When I enter 'cam vs 30' into the console, the camera now moves much faster even though that was the last setting I had.

You can only get so many units a week though.
There has to be an outlet to use units thats not the furnace. If you run out of AF/relic to upgrade and have no matters, youre just rotting units. The RP scaling the way it is means you will have a vast surplus of units the first 15 levels or so. Make them cost a ridiculous 30k. Make their cost go up with every repeat purchase. But there has to be an outlet available.

otherwise people will just afk bot units for matters. if there is a reason why they would never be purchasable with units, this would be why, even with a weekly limit, the content will be likely flooded with bots sadly

Pretty solid! Casting time in the precast set and Potency/Duration in midcast is pretty much all you need. Ballad you won't want to use the empy legs over Ambu due to the loss of a lot of duration and overwriting rules. Here's my overlay for individual songs, your mileage may vary:
sets.midcast.Madrigal = {head="Fili Calot +2",back=gear.magic_jse_back}
sets.midcast.Paeon = {head="Brioso Roundlet +1"}
sets.midcast.March = {hands="Fili Manchettes +2"}
sets.midcast['Honor March'] = set_combine(sets.midcast.March, {range="Marsyas"})
sets.midcast['Aria of Passion'] = set_combine(sets.midcast.SongEffect, {range="Loughnashade"})
sets.midcast.Minne = {legs="Mousai Seraweels +1"}
sets.midcast.Carol = {hands="Mousai Gages +1"}
sets.midcast["Sentinel's Scherzo"] = {feet="Fili Cothurnes +2"}
sets.midcast['Magic Finale'] = {range="Daurdabla"}
sets.midcast.Mazurka = {range="Marsyas"}
sets.midcast.Prelude = {back=gear.magic_jse_back}
sets.midcast.Mambo = {feet="Mousai Crackows +1"}
sets.midcast.Etude = {head="Mousai Turban +1"}

I'm totally down for being able to purchase Matters with points. This should definitely be an option, but I'd also be heavily in favor of capping the amount purchasable weekly otherwise people will just afk bot units for matters (I'm no exception).

How did you get the 15k number?
Yesterday I was at 512 Temenos Units, did a full 135 run and opened a 5k chest and I was at something above 11k Temenos Units.
Felt pretty depressing. Shorted the 15k a decent amount, its probably closer to 20-25k per matter.
~9k per climb, 1 matter every 2.5 climbs.

Egg helm, I believe, does not help you get skill ups. I could be wrong but I never saw wing skill up on any item retrieved from this .

Randomly I was recommended this 19 years old puppy footage.
Funny to see there were many who had this video recommended recently.
And all of them thought the very same as I did: after 19 years, the puppy probably already got old and passed away.
And we wish it had a peaceful life

I wonder what they're gonna do with Limbus matters.
They're in an odd position.
For the first ~21 ranks of something you're likely gonna be low on matters, sitting on points if you're unlucky with drops or chests.
Past that threshold you need so many points for each upgrade (and you get like, what, ~9.5k points for a full 135 run including the 3k chest?) that you will eventually be sitting on matters with not enough points.
Rinse & repeat when you start a new item, but it will be slightly faster because you will eventually have leftover matters from the previous item you just brought to R30.
How to solve this? I fear increasing matter drop (like I suggested: 100% from 3k chest, and 2 matters from 5k chest) wouldn't entirely solve it, alone.
I think they need to add a system where on one hand you can buy matters with points, and on the other hand you can also trade matters for points.
With such a system, if the ratio are at least decent, you might have the right flexibility to make upgrading items a bit less frustrating? The big issue that I and other players are running into is not having the same amount of both types of Matter. I know of one person whose disparity is something like 20 Alabaster versus 0 Murky. Once you've R30'd Earring and Ring (almost nobody is making the capes), having such a disparity is extremely frustrating and bottlenecks your ability to augment armor. I'm totally down for being able to purchase Matters with points.

The Egg Helm is coming back in a week:
It adds a noticeable amount of trash eggs to the digging pool - as in "you get an item more often per dig". So yeah, pick that up if you care.
There's also an unverified report on ffxiclopedia that you can dig up the eggs beyond the daily fatigue cap, and now skillups are visible, so I might do some testing there... and then I'd have to test Goblin Diggers too... yeah I probably won't, huh.
