So my choices as a solo BST are to charm an 120k health monster in Apollyon that I can't control, or I can summon a ~6k health support battery called a "pet". AWESOME

Jug pets being weak made sense when jugs were only used cause no mobs to charm. No more charming, so just left with weak pets 100% of the time.
SE thinks of bst as the smelly solo job, don't worry about it.

Quote: ■ 2026 development and admin policy
It was this time last year during the New Year's holiday period when I mentioned the areas listed below that we would be focusing on with the game, based on the results of the 2024 FFXI Adventurers' Survey.
・Expanded solo play options
・Revitalizing existing content and character leveling adjustments
・Autogroup improvements
We intend to continue improving these areas in the year to come, concentrating on those that have not been fully implemented yet.
Next, I'd like to talk about some of the specific things we're working on in 2026, including things that are already underway. However, please note that some of these items are still in the planning stage, and we therefore cannot guarantee that all of them will be implemented.
Strengthening alter egos
We will be making significant adjustments to the Trust magic system in order to provide a more enjoyable solo play experience and also let players participate in a wider range of in-game activities.
・Stat upgrade system (tentative name)
We will be implementing a new system that lets you upgrade the alter egos' stats. It works by allowing you to spend upgrade points, which you can earn through everyday activities during your adventures. These points can be used to strengthen your alter egos overall, thereby raising their basic stats. We're currently hard at work on this feature with the goal of releasing it in March 2026!
・Alter ego equipment system (tentative name)
We plan to add a feature that enables you to utilize dedicated equipment for your alter egos, kind of like how the puppetmaster attachments work. The plan is to make the equipment obtainable even when playing solo, and we are also looking into the possibility of using some existing content and crafting systems.
Expansion of battle content
In an effort to provide you with new challenges, we are looking at selected battle content across a wide range of difficulty levels.
・Adding notorious monsters to high-tier Limbus battles
These notorious monsters are extremely powerful monsters equivalent to Tier 3 found in Limbus research facilities. I recommend that you team up with a good-sized party in order to take on this challenge.
・Additional high-tier mission battlefields
We plan to add high-tier mission battlefields from three additional scenarios that were originally sold as downloadable content so that players can enjoy these classic scenes from the game's past.
・Placement of new notorious monsters
We will be adding new notorious monsters across Vana'diel. Make sure to check out which monsters have been added and also what you can obtain from them!
Story replay feature
We plan to implement a feature that lets you replay the story missions from each nation that serve as the starting point for your adventures. You will be able to play up to rank 10 without having to create a new character. The conditional branching based on your gameplay status at any given time is highly complex, so this feature is going to take a lot of time and patience to complete. We'll also need to be extra diligent in regards to introducing new bugs while working on the content. However, we feel that this feature will allow you to relive your favorite stories, make new discoveries, and also deepen your appreciation of Vana'diel, so we are also considering offering some kind of reward for utilizing this feature.
Playing environment improvements
We plan to add various improvements that will make your adventures even more enjoyable.
・Integration of the home point and survival guide systems
Currently, there are several NPCs that allow you to teleport, but we feel that it's too difficult in the game to know which NPCs can teleport you to which destinations. In order to fix this problem, we're currently looking to see if we can't combine at least some of the portals. Our first step will be to start with something fairly simple: merging the teleportation function of the home point and the survival guide features.
・Improved character growth guidance
Immediately after creating a new character, you can use the auto acceptance function of the Records of Eminence objectives in order to view a guide of the minimum necessary steps to develop your character. Our plan is to create a system that will merge both new and existing goals into a single path, and inform you of any subsequent steps that you should take.
We also have numerous other items under consideration, and will be sure to let you know once they are ready.
Improvements to the development and admin environment
Although this likely does not concern any of you directly, we have discovered numerous items that need to either be created or fixed as quickly as possible in order to ensure that the game continues to operate smoothly. Of these, discontinued support for older technologies due to OS version upgrades as well as the rapid introduction of more advanced technologies will make it difficult to keep Vana'diel up and running as time goes on. Therefore, we are giving priority to the following measures.
・An update that fixes an issue that could prevent the PlayOnline Viewer from running properly under certain conditions.
・Removing certain essential hardware from the development environment.
・Improvements to the tools used to manage the various resources that make up the game.
In order to minimize the risk of service disruptions, we have postponed some UI-related quality-of-life features, such as the ability to register blue magic sets and adjustments to the Assist Channel. We appreciate your understanding regarding this matter.
■ Other News
In March 2026, we will be airing a special episode of A.M.A.N. and LIVE! in Japan. During the broadcast, I hope to cover the alter ego upgrade system that we're looking to implement in phases, starting with the March 2026 version update. Your local community team will be providing more details about our plans going forward, so please keep an eye out for additional information to come.
I know that was a lot to take in, but please rest assured that the entire development team is fully committed to working hard to ensure that everyone enjoys an even more rewarding Vana'diel experience in 2026 and beyond.
I hope you are looking forward to another year of adventure in FINAL FANTASY XI.

This is such a cool project! kudos! I have only messed with it a little bit, but is there a way to get a controller working for this? KB is awkward for me.

Limbus mobs don't link anymore, they changed that last patch?
Unless there are some that do link that I don't know about. As a point of clarity... Temenos mobs, no longer link. They also didn't change linking for Grahs or Euvhi. Yeah, Temenos only, that was my bad!
...but Euvhi haven't been linking for me? I always expect Euvhi are "aggro when open, link when closed", but the ones in Temenos don't aggro or link when closed - have I just not noticed? Like, I think I'd notice that pretty fast, but I could easily be confused.

Well it's pretty slow since the "50%" was reached.
I think it's both to two aspects.
On one hand, the further you go the slower it gets and we knew that.
On the other hand it feels even worse because, I think, the volume of people doing Limbus is much smaller than months ago.
Now given how new things will be getting to limbus and given how *** insanely good (some of) the new armor are, I'm gonna be optimistical here and believe a lot of people will be doing Limbus again, soon.

Necro bump. Ver: 2.0 now released. :)

From the message they gave in the recent Vana'diel thingy, saying grace is "around" 50% potency, I think we can imply that the full potency is gonna be something like Acc/Racc/Macc+10, all stats+50, HP + uhm 2k? Exp loss -100%?
Or something like that.

Mine is still there but doesn't work anymore.
In the past it disappeared entirely, the whole section.
Now it's still there but it's not tracking weapons anymore.
If you notice the list above, you'll see two mythical and one aeonic that do not appear underneath and generate no points.
The two times in the past the section completely disappeared for me, to get it back rooks had to do a server reset or something, cleaning some dB cache iir?

Cleared zone boss and, finally, Shockmaw, after like 100+ attempts and after rank 30'ing my swords. Only 3 HELMs left! (I think - still have to find out if there's a way to use the KIs)
A few minor fixes/QoL, if of any interest:
- Gil at the Shopkeep seems to begin functioning strangely around Escha unlock stage; I'm able to buy a large amount of meld stones and gil will sometimes not change, or even increase.
- Some stats aren't showing in yellow once past cap (e.g., Subtle Blow is still white above +75)
- Item sets (outside of combat) would be really nice QoL to explore weapon builds (e.g., physical-WS vs. nuking augments).

I would love to see this fixed/overhauled in 2026! /em crosses fingers. That'd be a Rooks/Scragg undertaking and while they had desire to fix it, I imagine life got in the way.

Boss strategy / endgame spoilers: I was able to beat 2/6 of them (Fleet & Urmah) with my ilvl 25 weapons, and now stuck on Shockmaw using the weapon from Urmahlullu. I did notice that these bosses aren't required for next upgrade in the shop, so I should probably go try final boss and come back with ilvl30 swords.
Mechanically, I think Shockmaw should be doable but I'm stalling around 40% either with a Thar She Blows miss or other mechanic miss. It's so fast lol - hard to dodge consistently with the draw-in.
I absolutely would play Tower 3 if you decided to release it :D. This was an awesome find during my week off from work - I've been playing several hours a day for the past 2-3 days and it's been awesome!!
Beating Fleetstalker with i25 weapons is seriously impressive! He's one of the hardest fights for me.
I've never attempted Shockmaw with the Chastisers before, so I just gave it a shot. I managed to get him down after a few tries, but the winning attempt took nearly 10 minutes! Had to play it super patiently.
Thank you! I hadn't planned on it before because I wasn't sure anyone would get to the end of the current content. The reception has been so positive that I'll definitely consider it :)

Just beat my first T3.. every time I think I can predict what's next, I turn out to be wrong. This is so sick!
Nice! Minor progression spoilers for people who didn't reach Escha:
The T3/HELMs are "bonus" bosses, in the sense that they're not required for Tower 3 (if it gets implemented). I took the opportunity to be a bit more... experimental with them :) I might post some quick tips & tricks for them.
Do you have ilvl30 swords and armour?
