Do I have to force NQs for these anima synths? Bgwiki says HQs aren't allowed, but HQ Anima synths just make more of the same thing.
HQs aren't allowed for items that have an HQ result, like Saber. For Anima you want as high of an HQ chance as possible because all 40 of them can be turned in.

One of them is used for the Opo-Opo crown quest. The rest are really only useful for trading to the Gobbie Box for daily points.

Okay, interesting. I think I need about 24 stacks to finish and I'm at ~6 right now. I'm about tied between Profane and Somber right now. The Despoil note is interesting and I'll be doing that.

I've farmed a lot of memories in Promyvion. I generally target the specific ones I need, but sometimes I just mass-murder everything in the zone.
You can EASILY get a stack or more of each memory by mass-murdering everything in a single Promy from F1 to the Spire. That's typically more than enough for me so I stop, but if you want to get more, just go back and do it again. It probably takes <10 minutes to do all 4 floors, maybe 15.
I just go THF/BLM and 1-shot all the empty of the appropriate element.

Does anyone know what the hell you feed the Tiny Bugard to make it shudder and grow?
IIRC if you want a tiny monster to evolve into a regular adult, there is no 'food' for it just doing the regular feeding/interaction should evolve it naturally.

I lost count how many times I died with no raise on all 6 chars to damage Ultima from 86 to 31. Must have been a lot, because I lost like 800k EP and deleveled from 41 to 40. I would do it again though :D

If you're using an old version of XIview, it will be missing stuff and you could crash. Make sure you get the new versions that was made after the last patch.

Hello all! Windower is receiving some new functionalities, making the current dev build a little instable.
This means that we need people to test it out, as the dev team is not able to foresee and test every possible usage scenario.
Come to the Windower Discord server to report your findings. When joining the server, you will be able to give yourself the v4 role so you can join the #development channel, where you will find a pinned message describing the new changes, and a #bug-reports channel where you can tell us what does not work so we can fix it.
Thanks!

I think EP loss is a problem for a lot of people here, although that's just speculation. It's realistically a problem only if you're on a high ML (at ML50 you lose ~80k EP each time you HP).
Raise1 makes you recover 50%
Raise2 makes you recover 75%
Raise3 and Arise make you recover 90%.
Then there's the Limbus Grace reduction, on Asura it's 54% atm and I'm not sure when it's gonna stop. SE in their interview said graces right now are "around 50% potency", so will the cap be 100%? I wonder. We're not there yet and I'm not sure when in the formula the Grace reduction is applied. Before Raise? After? Together?
Add to this that for Ultima/Omega, while I'm personally totally fine with the fact there are OHKO moves, atm there's probably a bit too much of them.
So the situation is not ideal -at the moment- but it's gonna get better.
Graces will level up, SE might slightly reduce the amount of OHKO moves.
Blah blah, give it time and I'm sure it will be just perfect in a few months.
Atm it's a bit... hardcore I guess, but things will slowly get better, I'm sure of it.
For an event which only happens max once a month (and that's another sort of problem, imo) it's not too bad.
Again, there's space for improvement but I'm 100% sure things will improve eventually.

I did want that, too bad they dont allow most of these to be transferable. They would make a lot more off some whales lol, I mean what even is the point to prohibiting people from using the pells on the same characters or transfering these items?
Also, this might be the rarest item in the game that maybe will never come back!

Getting a few extra chests a month is nice, but if killing U&O again wasn't required to keep next month's chests in good order, I don't think the points would be enough incentive alone.
Unique Data allowing players to open chests without doing a climb seems interesting, though. SE did say more NM's are coming. I doubt it'll ever be a true parallel progression path, but if you could get 2-3 matters per week just fighting a daily NM or something I know people who would do that instead of climbing.

Yeah thats its main purpose but it has targetlock as well. it calls it auto_point i think it is
i modified gaze to only have targetlock when im locked on a target (kind like your normal mode) since it was annoying for me that it was always on (like your always mode)
Ahh gotcha, thanks for clarifying — I didn’t realize Gaze’s auto_point effectively covers target locking too.
In that case you’re right that there is overlap in behavior, especially if you’ve already modded Gaze to only face when target lock is on.
The main difference (and the reason I made this) is that my addon is only concerned with facing your current target while engaged + target lock is on — no gaze logic, no turning away/returning, no reaction to mob abilities, etc. It’s basically trying to make the native Target Lock behave more like a modern MMO where your character actually tracks the mob’s movement consistently.
So if someone is already happy with Gaze (especially a customized version), they probably don’t need this. This is more for people who don’t use Gaze at all and just want reliable facing without any combat automation.
Still appreciate you pointing it out though — it’s good info for anyone deciding which route to go. :)

So in theory, anyone can create a campaign like you have?
Yep, that's correct. A couple of users on the reddit thread have experimented with the source code. I'm not currently accepting any pull-requests to the code-base that I personally work on, though, so it would need to be hosted separately (similar to what jakuu did).
If so, is there a guide on how to?
Not yet, but I could put something together. Did you have something specific in mind? Like extending/modifying the current game, or building an entirely new game using the engine?

Asura.Mrbrightsighed said: »If you arise in CN you are going to have a bad time lol. The problem is many times you are forced to HP, that being said I'd trade 50k Exemplar points for a bonus chest.
I mean, it depends what you mean by "CN".
For all the mini bosses, Arise is fine (and great).
For Omega, so long as you're in a good position, it's fine
For Ultima you could end up dying again when you get up (if there's a fetter nearby), but you can also just...wait for the fetters to go away.
There's also Tractor, or the mobs changing positions.
Sometimes you may "need" to HP, but most of the time you can just wait for a condition whereby you can get tractor'd or raised on the spot.
Again...having a party/alliance helps here because then you can have 1 or 5 people with tractor/R3/Arise available to get you/people up. If you're a solo PUP who knows absolutely nobody in the zone, you're gonna have a bad time.

I think EP loss is a problem for a lot of people here, although that's just speculation. I know some friends of mine will not go in there on their best jobs because they don't want to lose EP on their high ML jobs. I don't blame them really. I also don't want to go down there on my PLD that's close to ML40 especially with how DT and defense seems to be useless on these NMs. So I go into those things on a job that is less useful. I know the grace reduces EP loss by 46% (at least on my server) but when you're in the millions of EP it still sucks.
FWIW, if you're ML39 and get a R3 or Arise when you die: you will lose 654 EP per death, so I don't think you're at risk of losing too many MLs.

Whats the difference between this and Gaze add-on ?
Hey Dane, I didn't know of Gaze before you mentioned it. On looking at the Gaze documentation, it describes that addon as turning away for you for gaze attacks and then returning back to facing the mob after the gaze attack is resolved. This appears to work similar to how React works.
My addon does not have any automation (which i try to avoid), so you'll still need to turn away from the mob if it uses a gaze attack. Essentially, this addon properly locks your character into facing your current target when target lock is on and has tracking when monsters move around (like a more modern TargetLock system).
Thank you for the question :)

So, Ive decided to tune down my ambition.
Instead of doing a complete full playthrough in one go, I will split it in “arcs”, and posting it as it is.
This way, I can start releasing sooner, as I already finished my first arc.
This also will allow me to take a break of this madness of playthroughs and work on other side projects. I really like to discuss mangas, and Ive been reading some far from the mainstream, with very little coverage.
Plus, upgrading a little my python skills to something I can make profitable.
In the future I also plan to work in a FFXI related project maybe. I like the game, and still I feel that some content is missing related to it.

So I finally beat all the content the game currently has to offer...
Congrats! Thank you for playing, and I sincerely appreciate your review and all of your feedback :)
A whole lot of love was given to this project. It is clear that it is from someone who adores the source material...
Absolutely - I've been playing FFXI on and off since shortly after the NA servers launched. In particular, I've always loved the art direction in this game. I'm still astonished by how the artists managed to create such beautiful particle effects from a set of relatively simple engine instructions. This entire project started from a desire to better understand those effects.
Some of the floors in the game-mode were chosen just to show obscure effects (ex: the shimmery ocean in Bibiki-4).
Small Bug Report that made things a little easier at the end: Thanks for reporting this - Router used to have a different mechanic (focused around Berserk), but I forgot to update the buff-clearing logic when I changed it. Will fix!
---
On a side note, I've published the game-mode on itch.io as well. I'll keep both sites updated.
