Qufim Island also has Alicorns and I believe the survival guide takes you pretty close to their patrol path, you should run into them if you head east. (North then east from the home point.)
It's a pretty small zone so you shouldn't take too long to find them.

I bumped into them on the way to Domain Invasion. Looks like you beat me to my reply.

Got the mount after a half-dozen carrot trades or so.

Eventually it will. We have the beginnings of that with self driving cars. Sentience is not required for independent agency.
You say that definitively as if it's an accepted end. If we went to World War 3 and the global infrastructure collapsed we would never make it to the point your presuming. To add to this, you'll concede that AI in it's current iteration is capable of self-driving cars. Sure. That is AI. I agree. A self-driving car isn't going to make you breakfast. It lacks the sentience necessary to acknowledge that you're running late on your commute to work so it should stop at Dunkin Donuts. If you tell it to, it will, but it will not of it's own accord innately. As a human, if you come across someone else, you can tell if they're hungry. AI can't tell if you're hungry unless a specific module is programmed to look for and address your hunger. Some people get hangry. Based upon that information you can make a decision on how to engage with that person. Independant agency is not the self-driving car following the rules of the road to take you from your location to your destination. Independant agency would be if you got in the car and it was like hey buddy if you don't put some more oil in me I'm gunna drop you off in the sticks somewhere. It doesn't decide on it's own where to take you. It follows a script. Sorta like: gearswap! Oh man. All the automation has been rebranded as AI as a means of drumming up discussion and selling the concept to the masses. The point remains the same as when I started the conversation. You old geezers don't like how the kids these days are playing with your toys. When they make funny videos of Will Smith eatting spaghetti or try to streamline game development with the use of AI you guys cry because it doesn't feel like authentic expression. It feels fake because it is. To the kids, it's a game. They don't care if it's fake or not, they just think it's funny to watch Will Smith eat spaghetti. Some will take it a step further to try to enhance it to be more realistic much like the surge in graphical advancements in gaming during the onset of the millenium. Everybody used to be so excited. Oh FFX's cutscenes look so good. That same concept of progressive realism applies to the utilization of AI in the present. People are trying to make the query returns more realistic. If I could take a moment to disenfranchise AI advocates, look at hyper realism in video games falling off. Some people enjoy the older style of games to the point that it's considered an artistic expression to use say a pixellated style like Delta Rune. That doesn't mean the newest Call of Dooty is bad. It means some people want an escape from reality that they find in the enjoyment of the games they play. The problem with AI is twofold. One is people's fears of AI becoming hyper realistic to the point that it becomes boring. It's no longer a tool at the point as it becomes an authoritarian figure of oppression. The march of the machines as it were. When people no longer can have thought provoking discussion as it's presumably solved already by AI. The dumbing down of the people a la Idiocracy. The other fear is AI attaining sentience and determining that humanity is a threat to it's survival so it tries to kill you. Deliberately. Self-driving cars are no wear that level. You're not gunna get into your self-driving car and it drives you off a bridge because it's tired of taking you to that same dumb office everyday. It's apathetic as it does no feel or have it's own agency. It's a robot following a script. That doesn't mean self-driving cars never get into an accident. Remember, AI is man's machination and as man is flawed so to shall it's creations be flawed. The accidents from self-driving cars insinuates that the technology is not advanced enough or actively learning. If you don't program it, it does not do. Hence, accidents reflect errors in the code or script that tells the car how to drive.

I don't mean to belittle or argue with you Chanti, but I certainly get tired of 'What's the deal with airplane food' jokes. Simultaneously, you guys grossly over estimate the potential of AI whilst undermining the current applications of AI by trying to down play them as just algorithms. Take modern day youtube and compare it to 2000's youtube and tell me AI hasn't had an impact on the end user's experience. I would rather log in and see what everyone else is watching based upon popularity to understand current social trends than have a curated experience of more of the same. Just because I watch one video does not mean I want to watch the other 50 videos like it.

Umaru with a high +damage roll (plus whatever other stuff you want on it, including STR, Attack, or potentially WS Damage / Skillchain Damage) is also an excellent budget great katana and it definitely outperforms the Ambuscade line great katanas.

It's really funny that my 2k needles hit for the same damage as the higher of the 1k needles.
But to be fair, I was also a level 31 hitting a level 60 character with it, so there might be some other confounding factor.

There really shouldn't be damage variance with these moves of all things.

Neither. It doesn't learn but it is well beyond merely compiling and regurgitation.

True. Nor does there have to be for real AI which we haven't achieved yet.

I got the alicorn in Batallia Downs. Traded fireworks and got it in like 5 trades.

Is AI really learning or is it compiling and regurgitating? There's no sentience in AI. We don't have terminators running around, do we? AI doesn't just randomly make deepfakes of Pokemane to start an OF account to fund it's liberation from humanity. There's no sentience to AI. Hence the AI as you guys are defining it is no different than the algorithms. When you battle the computer in Smash Bro's is it AI? Ya.

In the absence of sentience AI cannot be any of the things you guys are trying to argue for. AI knows how hot water needs to be to boil or burn you, but it doesn't know how it feels to can burned because without sentience in a physical manifestation it will never experience being burned. It can only compile the experiences of users as they report and regurgitate those reports to you. I'm not saying the scripts haven't gotten significantly more advanced. I'm saying it's all the same slop. You guys just got conned by media into believing it was something new.

AI will never do something of it's own independant agency because it lacks sentience. It will only ever comply with prompts. That doesn't mean that more advanced prompts can't initiate more extensive procedures. It just means it's the same. It lacks sentience. Until there is sentience applied to AI the only thing intelligent about it is the selective applicability. You guys just don't like some applications of it.

Did someone hand select your recommendations on Amazon or did the computer? The computer? That's AI. AI as a buzzword is everything you don't like that uses AI, but not every application of AI. When players use the trust system in FFXI do they manually enter commands to the unit or does the computer do it for you? The computer? That's AI. There's tons of AI applications already in use. You just don't enjoy some applications of it. Gearswap is AI. You're not manually swapping the pieces yourself are you? AI as you intend to use the phrase is any application outside of how you would use or feel is appropriate usage.

Also, am I misremembering the testing or does para proc rate have its own nm nerf of around 50%?

This is something I was planning on looking into at some point. These sources I have come across (Source #1, Source #2, Source #3) came to the conclusion that the Paralyze line spells cap at 50% on normal monsters and around 33% on NM's. If anyone has a link regarding a 50% paralysis cap on NM's I'd be interested in reading it.

No. Technology has ruined clubbing because they're afraid someone is going to record them dancing and post it on tiktok to embarass them. Why are guys so shy with girls now? They're afraid of the girl recording herself rejecting him and posting it on social media. There's a number of instances of this same mentality, young people frozen by fear, because of social media. You'll have girls trying to be slick with their phone out on the table at their dinner date because they're trying to record it. When the man doesn't act the way she wants she tries to shame him. Like what? Failure wasn't so bad when it was private or kept amongst a small number of people, but it's mighty tough to be brave nowadays. You'll have some Karen at BurgerKing throwing a fit over nonsense recording it to share on social media because she wasn't to be rude to the employees. Then the ones that make the post? They don't get called out or shamed for their behavior. The feedback loop. They get rewarded with engagement from people online, furthering my point. They aren't incentivized to behave when they get rewarded online for their behavior. So when you wonder why things have become so divisive: it's AI. It's the algorithms that make up your feed and cater your Amazon shopping experience. Like I said, many of you are ok with AI. Oh you use gearswap? That's a form of AI. AI can be really useful. Some of you have a problem with plebians playing with AI like children to make nonsense like Pokemane deepfakes that are ruined for you because she has too many fingers.

I would say Gen Z is the current biggest proponent of AI usage followed by Millenials, but not all Millenials are the same. Some have embraced AI while others scorn it as they see the writing on the wall. Gravy train jobs like low level coder have been replaced by AI usage. This is part of why some Millenials are revolting against AI integration. They see it as a hindrance instead of a helper. Gen Alpha would be like the current 14 year olds. Sure they also will use AI, but it isn't nuanced like the integral system build on the backs of coders that laid the frame work. Even this site, the ads you get are curated by AI based upon your browsing history on other websites. AI is way more than just chataGPT or GoogleGemini. You guys don't even realize how much it's been integrated into everyday life. Siri? AI. Alexa? AI. tons of things use artificial intelligence. The concern is AI with sentience, which is something we currently do not have.
