Player equalization across worlds is about as unrealistic as people assuming responsibility and turning off all of their mules and multibox so other people can play. SE is just patching the hole so the ship doesn't take in more water. We're not yet to the point that we need to throw people overboard so the boat doesn't capsize.

Panic when you see the announcement reviving Tetra Master so players have something to do while waiting in POL login queues, so they can then wait another hour in content queues...

That's certainly feasible, but URL shouting bots absolutely do get banned and very quickly.

instead of selling it they decided to lessen its importance kinda, ody is a gil fountain and sortie/primes don't require it at all. no new shield recipes since dyna d, etc.

they could totally still sell it and people would buy at almost any price, for old stuff

They should just rip the bandaid off and sell K-Clubs for $300.

I always found it funny how much money VPN companies throw around, sponsoring so many youtubers for tens of thousands of dollars when there is no way they make enough money to do that.

My thoughts were that the bigger ones are glowy as *** (either straight up run by them, or more likely just forced backdoors to snoop on your entire log), I would not trust NordVPN as far as I can throw them. So in a way, they could very well be self opt in honeypots where you are effectively being fooled into allowing them to parse everything you do online.

Kind of like those stupid DNA tests people were doing to see if they were 0.1% african or something, that ended up being where the company stored your DNA on a database and intelligence agencies could get access to it to compare DNA tests taken from crime scenes.

>tinfoil hat on cat

The more trustworthy ones don't advertise and have a good rep, stuff like mullvad.

Granted it wouldn't combat the merc culture, but if SE themselves just sold gil, I wonder how much money they'd make compared to the RMT. Though at this stage of the game I have zero idea how much gil is worth. Was thinking way way back to when Abyssea was shiny and new and the constant flood of Fen prefix names (I assume it was first 3 letters followed by gibberish on every server) spamming to sell gil for between $22 - $27 per mill. Right then SE shoulda/coulda been like *lightbulb* "Hey, let's add a gil buying feature on the SE Acct site. You can click the character's name and how much to add

I think they do actually check reports, but I have no idea what criteria they use to determine if they act on them. Took less than a week of one report a day to get rid of all the legion and salvage bots on Asura. The dynamis ones went pretty fast too. Every lv1 merc shout mule I've bothered with has been gone in a few days.

From personal experience, if you shout to advertise a gil website you get banned in less than 12 hours very consistently. Don't think I've ever made it a full day on one of those.

On the other hand, there are obvious bots on Leviathan that I've reported dozens of times that never get actioned. Have tried reporting job point bots daily for weeks unsuccessfully on Asura, too. Never gotten the actual mercs behind the shouters banned. So, IDK.

The premise that JP are favored is certainly not substantiated, but it sure seems it sometimes. However, the premise that they are proactive and community-orientated about reporting bots cannot be denied.

Forced to stay a low level??

When did SE get rid of level sync??
By Chucat on 2025-10-01 14:02:11
I'm kind of in the same boat at you being at a low level (forced to stay at a low level to play with friends). The boring answer is basically don't pay for things you don't have to pay for and use the auction house as much as possible to save/make money.

You basically want to sell things that are easy (but possibly tedious) to make/farm and sell for a lot. Sheep leather and wild onions sold for around 100k a stack which isn't a 'lot' but it's decent especially if you're level 30. Also make sure to use the gobbiekey thing and take advantage of the chest, since some of that stuff also sells for a lot.

On the other hand, you want to keep your outgoings as low as possible, so basically live on the BG Wiki to check if you can buy something from the vendor or from the AH, and compare and contrast what's cheaper. For example, for whatever bizarre reason, a bunch of spells vendored for 100k+ and sold on the AH for...10k, which saved me a couple of million in getting all my spells (most of which that I can't even use yet)

So yeah, just find a niche that makes money, live in it until it gets stale/boring and move to another one, make sure to keep up with whatever dailies you can do as well and you'll just slowly make money.

I don't think Asura will ever open again to free creation, its population is far too high and even at half what it is now it's still too high comparatively. If people complain enough they may add a proper RaF system, if you have a very long standing account but I wouldn't even bet on that either.

Not just the RMT, the American multiboxers too. Just skip over Odin and go to Phoenix. Leave it for the JP.

Patch version update to 4.4.3

  • Added show_cursor_target option to the Aggro List section. Highlights the monster in the Aggro List that you currently have targeted.

  • Adjusted the Aggro List to be more consistant in removing monsters when they die.

  • Adjusted the SP Active name and target name cycling to be synced up with the timer again. The previous change to the timer made it more accurate, but the name switching was still based on full clock seconds.

  • Fixed an error on log in when Bars was autoloaded before logging in.

  • Fixed bars showing back up occasionally during zoning after hiding.

  • Fixed Focus Target Debuff Icons staying on screen after zoning away from a Focus Target.

What's the rate of absorption on the WKR elemental capes and do they stack with the Abyssea elemental sachets' damage absorption?

Probably as a Shining one WS head

I can only hope if Odin is next to fall, the JP players speak out immediately.
I said this earlier, i dont think RMT will get as much of a strangle hold on Odin because SE is more keen on listening to JP feedback.

I always wondered what % of the server transfers are for name-change purposes only. I imagine it's small, but they could add this as a paid feature without the rigamarole of server hops and creating alts to force name collisions.

And thus; all the idiots began pushing Odin as the new Mecca.

Odin is the high Japanese population server, right? So now they're playing a more dangerous game with the community that the devs traditionally actually tend to listen to more? Innnnnnteresting.

That's also what I've found so far. Resistance seems to range from 11 to 15. I've seen 1 or 2 Magic Evasion.

The general outrage of the playerbase is very likely not as big as we think it is.

Maybe this was SE's way to *** what could be the RMT population /shrug

Been clearing out some old stuff and came across something I got a while ago. I just got WAR leveled and geared and was wondering if this is worth anything.

*There's also a native Critical Hit Rate +2 on the mask.

I have a feeling that server transfers are 99% used by RMTs and 1% by few hardcore players that server hop for supplies, and that actual players, including returners, don't really care as they just play with their friends that are all on the same server, while new players are mostly happy to just land anywhere and they'll find a group later eventually. SE probably has better metrics than we do if this was their choice. The general outrage of the playerbase is very likely not as big as we think it is.
