They really need to expand the amount of merit weapon skills we can hold the deeds thing is not enough
If it was apart of the repeatable deeds that would have been great till you capped out
By Nariont on 2025-10-02 00:36:57
Could also just be elements, E for example i think is more susceptible to earth vs wind or fire iirc. Frazzle for E is also unlikely least in my experience its a crapshoot landing it
By Nariont on 2025-10-02 00:28:38
Best possible chance (which is unlikely just due to having to make 3 seperate trusts under the same name) would be making it into a trust at the end of its level cap questline that would basically mimic whatever setup it was currently in healer/dd/tank, but since it can already function in its current form along with trusts, i figure they'll leave it as is.

but she is at or stuck at the LVL 75 era

Trusts can level up to 99 after quests and after that work similarly to trusts in that they auto-adjust to ilvl based on the players gear ilvl
By Doebie on 2025-10-02 00:27:53
Your fellow can level up to 99

This is the first level cap quest to unlock up to level 80 https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/A_Trial_in_Tandem,_Redux

Fellows were a prototype gameplay system that later was made obsolete by the trust system. I don't believe SE will ever address the Fellow system again because its been replaced by a way better system.

Yeah you might be happy, but a returning player, especially during freeplay, will just do a /sea all and think the game is dead. It's not a healthy nunber by any means no matter how you convince yourself its good because you have people to play with. There should definitely be a balance between server populations in my opinion

2000+ people online at the same time is NOT a balanced population. No server needs that many people online at the same time to play the game. It's of a curse thana blessing. You THINK 2000+ people online to be an effective server, you don't.

I think a balance is needed, not necessarily a concrete number like 2000. But clearly SE thinks the same, but their methods are lame. They did admit they want to try to add incentives so that will be interesting

2025 and eiryl still doesnt understand that SE listens to JP feedback exponentially more than NA feedback (and its not zero, so the statement is mathematically valid)

If the JP ***, SE will listen and do something productive instead of implementing a very shitty yell filter.

Do you think that's because of an in-group bias or did NA just turn out to be a bunch of whiny babies who report everything so they stopped listening to us?

Its definitely a shithole. But you can get 30k alex at 3 am on a tuesday.

Try to find ONE piece of alexandrite on quetz and you'll be sad.

Try to spur of the moment build a full aeonic popset, you'll have to farm half of it and take 3 hours.

If you could have the 300 players and still have access to an actual economy, you'd be set.

So universal AH? Didn't WoW implement that?

Not in my opinion, that would be depressing if you ask me. Those servers probably drive more returning people to quit than anything

I play on one of those servers, 327 people online in all areas right now. And I can tell you most of us are happy the way it is. We have one big LS, and a plethora of smaller LS's and more than enough people to do stuff with. Also never have to wait for instances, it's great.

Our AH sells decently enough, also. Most of the important stuff is usually in stock. And if it's not there are toms of random shield crafters all over you can ask for help.
yep, and if it's not in stock, you can just farm it, someone else probably won't be farming at the same time (or if you just don't want to pay for it too, like umbril marrows)
By Classikmage on 2025-10-01 20:50:54
Keep all the RMT bots locked on Asura. We don't need em over here.
By Classikmage on 2025-10-01 20:49:05
Pretty much don't bother with Light SC on DNC unless you have a Prime dagger, lol.
By maletaru on 2025-10-01 20:47:20
Wild Flourish -> Aeolian Edge -> Shark Bite probably makes Light, but it's awful.

With Aeneas you can make 2-step light/radiance, with the right AM level up. This is also awful.

If you swap weapons mid-SC, you can do it. h2h or sword for Liquefaction, then either finish the fusion with h2h/sword, or swap to dagger.

Prime makes it laughably easy to spam light (part of the reason it's so absolutely sick).

Failing that...just don't make light. It's not worth it.
By Nariont on 2025-10-01 20:46:30
Just higher macc requirements, you need a threnody to get hybrids consistent on E/G

Colada with Refresh+2 can be good pre-Sakpata for BLU and RDM idle too, even if you have it technically.

No need to use dark matter augments for Colada, though. Can use common stones for that.
Yeah, I thought that might be the case - you can get it with fern? Gada only gets +1 or +2 with fern?
To answer my own question, I think Gada only gets +2 with DM. Combined with the new shield it could give +3 in main/sub where the only other way is Mpaca staff (or Contemplator+1 but that's harder to get) and the dyna grip which is only under 75% MP.

Not quite true, depending on the job...GEO can use Bhima for 3 in the MH, 1 in OH with the shield for 4 MP/tic in main/sub.

So tried SAM out in Sortie today. Pretty sweet on a lot of it.

Was curious though about Hybrids in basement. On ground floor I was able to hit capped damage without any sort of magic oriented buffing.

But basement bosses were quite different. E, I couldn't get over 30k. G, on the other hand, still hit capped Kokis the whole fight.

Is just a resistance thing on the other bosses, then? And higher MDB cause basement? Is there a method to hit capped hybrids on all basement bosses?

I know a lot of you like small servers, but this is more like life support. A bit of balance might do everyone some good if they can figure out how

What is that Lakshmi? Cerberus?

At like super off peak hours? Still rough

I'll have you know that Cerberus has a whole 305 accounts logged in right now, thank you. That's not our peak but it's pretty typical.

Truthfully, if I had a solid group of people that I played with frequently (enough to cover all the bases - crafting, jobs, etc.), having almost the entire world to yourselves would be pretty neat.

But this server population issue is one of the most common issues in the MMO genre, and I don't think a single game out there has got it right.

- One massive global server is either unsustainable or kills community due to phasing
- Server merging comes with a plethora of issues (names, overcrowding, sign of end-times, etc.)
- Doing nothing lets some servers turn into ghost towns
- Locking down servers causes overflow, stagnates new player growth on the locked server, and all the other issues mentioned in this thread

I'm sure I missed some.

The only thing that I've seen that even comes close to addressing an issue like this is incentivized one-way free transfers and locking down transfers back, but NOT locking new character creation. The incentive could be something like a month-long buff of some kind, a r/ex, whatever, only on specific destination servers. Something to tip the scales.

Fixing merc spam? Impossible. Not in today's world. The "MMO gamer" from our youth is a dead culture.

Literally defeats the purpose of closing Asura in the first place.
By Eiryl on 2025-10-01 19:13:27
Can't follow that logic. I'd love it. No reason to do it.
By Byrthnoth on 2025-10-01 19:07:44
Can't you activate Aeonic AM and then use Exenterator x2? ***damage but technically light.

You can use a combination of Wild Flourish and Flat/Circle Blade to make Fusion, then w/e Frag to get to light.
By Nariont on 2025-10-01 19:06:51
3 step is fine imo, can do empyreal > sb > cdc if no excal for a steady stream of damage, as if youre soloing you may not have the buffs to push for 4-5.

Ws doesnt need meva afaik, just want higb meva/barstone for slow spikes
By RadialArcana on 2025-10-01 18:54:18
If they plan to keep Asura closed, they might wanna increase the cap on sparks or something.
By Crowlina on 2025-10-01 18:48:06
Thank god the devs had the foresight to add blist and breaklinkshell commands.
By Dodik on 2025-10-01 18:29:37
Oh wow look at the big boys over here with almost 300 people.

Must be nice to see others.

(/s)

Most of the bottom half servers are about the same, players wise.
