Probably would've been possible for shards, since they composed such a large percentage of reward items. Shouldn't need more than a couple thousand spins before/after to be confident it changed.
Never gonna happen for Hoxne.

Do items have a higher load rate when they're added to the game or do people just burn through their stash of gobbie keys when new items are added?
There's speculation that when something new is added, it drops from gobbie boxes at a slightly higher rate, to get it out in the wild and get people to, uhm, crave it.
It's all speculation and it's impossible to gather enough data to say if it's true or not with any actual statistical confidence.

While looking for videos of hooks usage with python, I found what is either a brilliant irony or the laziest video tutorial I ever see in life.
Either way, congrats I will never forget this one video

So, we've seen Crepuscular Ring, Crepuscular Earring, and Null Loop reported in this topic. Wouldn't it be so SE for them to have added drops from Shinryu and Cloud of Darkness to this dial... but only the common ones?

I have 15 mules, and never used SP gobbie key as it was a waste, so last week I used 180 keys (Deeds) * 15 = 2700 keys.
Did get 2 Hoxne Rings, I kept one, sold one, 5 new mats which have not sold cause my price is 100m, 3 nq pieces selling for 20m a piece.

Do items have a higher load rate when they're added to the game or do people just burn through their stash of gobbie keys when new items are added? i don't think it's either, i just think its hyperfocus on the new items

Same! I love the sound effects. When Troves first came out, I joked with some LS mates that one of the chests should twitch or twinkle slightly, just to mess with us, haha.

A buddy of mine decided to get Lorg Mor Stage 3 since, as far as either of us know, nobody has ever tested the WS to get the fTP and WSC values. An old dev post says the mods are STR/MND, and all the Prime WS should have equal values between their two mods, so I'm assuming they're the same value.
We went into Sortie today on BRD, GEO/SCH, COR and used Dagda on the Acuexes at 3k TP to try to figure out the values. We spent some time tinkering around with chaos roll values and Shell Crusher to make sure we were attack capped before proceeding. Data was taken in two sets. Set 1 had 350 STR, 365 MND, and 60% WSD. Set 2 had 320 STR, 379 MND, and 40% WSD. The data set seems to have some second hit misses, some first hit kills, and some double attacks that pollute the data a little, but it get us close to an actual number for the 3k fTP and WSC. Note that these numbers are low since acuexes resist blunt. We were careful to not record any numbers from when the acuex STR/MND down was on or Monbereaux's STR/MND up was on, but it's possible we missed one here or there.

I wonder if those folks aren't statistically correct...100% chance of win but low, but not zero, chance of LT ILG? Maybe on a longer timeline that strat may be the correct one?
Oh sure, it's the only way to "win" - though it'd be funny for SE to eliminate that by giving the center chest a chance of being the mimic if none of the other chests are open... which, maybe they already do - I'd never know!
My pet theory is that there's only one mimic and every time you open a chest it re-rolls the distribution of the mimic (which would include it staying exactly where it was). I don't think there's any evidence for this or any way to test for it, that's why it's a pet theory.
I totally discount any of the hints because they're unreliable.
I'm a fan of the added sound effect (and the fact that you can hear it from a character outside the arena if you're in the same party). I remember doing this event when I first started playing on Diabolos. I remember running outside and seeing the treant checking as Impossible to Gauge and had no idea what that meant, and seeing 40 people constantly dropping dead to it.
There was one per region from what I recall, and the reward was that we got access to outposts in each region.
|
|
 |
|
|
No, because you can't run the update unless you have an active FFXI sub, and I've been doing this before Return to Vanadiel opens up. This was all done using the check files in pol.
The ffxi config one just forces an update check on the next launch of the game. I just now set it and ran it, and then it still crashed. Doing file check again shows the same 30 bad files.
|
|
 |
|
|
I was just starting out, up to lvl 10 or so, when that event was active. I do not know how many treants there were overall but I helped kill the one in the North/South Gustaberg area.

I suspect that new items like this have a slightly higher rate of incidence than much later on
Multiple people have stated this on a few occasions, at this point it's confirmed that SE ups the Gobbie Box to slant towards newer items for a few months.
Generally new items are over represented in the first month.
Then they ninja lower the drop rate.
when SE puts new items in the game, the rate of acquisition skyrockets shortly after release
OK, I thought so. My initial thought around this was when Dynamis Divergence shards/voids came out. They were EX for 3-4 months and then when SE removed the EX tag, they were showing up from various sources of RNG. I generally think this is to either stimulate the economy or player engagement. Maybe there's other reasons too, but I think this works.
Anyway, thanks for confirming!

Lakshmi killed them all, there were multiple. I don't recall one per outpost but I know I fought them outside the cities and I think xarcabard or something. Might have been one per outpost.
I definitely remember 1 outside of each city, so there was definitely more than Treant to kill on each server. Thanks for clarifying!

That's cool that the Hoxne Ampulla was added to the gobbie box
Maybe one day
|
|
 |

I know that Hoxne items where introduced in November's update, but I picked up my FES Gobbie Key, while wearing a Dream Hat, then I traded 8 SP Gobbie Keys to a gobbie box and got a Hoxne Ampulla:
I suspect that new items like this have a slightly higher rate of incidence than much later on ...but who knows for sure? Maybe it's christmas related? I honestly have no idea...

So if you get a new piece of gear, you have to remake your freezes every time, for every job if I'm reading that properly
If I get a new piece of gear, I edit the gearswap (which I have to do anyways) and just run //gs org. Your method sounds like ***tbh.
There shouldn't be any item overlap in your freezes because gear that can be worn by multiple jobs would be placed in your wardrobes (unless they are only being used by one job, in which case they go in your dump bags).
You copy/paste in organizer luas the same way you copy/paste in GS, so I'm not sure why you're trying to make one out to be worse than the other. It's literally the same thing.
Is there actually a reason why you spread your SMN gear across 3 bags? I mean, considering you are linking all of these instructions that indicate [bag], I would assume it's crossed your mind by now...

Speaking of Monstrosity, you get 10% of your xp as Gladiator Prestige when you have the writ of summons and go to one of the three PvM zones. That means you need to farm 500k xp to cap, which is about 2k kills.
BLM isn't doing it for me. I see two paths:
1. PUP
2. Use a mule to farm Infamy, then kill it to convert to prestige
fun fact: if you do this at lvl 90 with a prime weapon, you have access to the prime WS and get the aftermath. the grind still sucks though
