New autos are faster, too. At the expensive end sure.
For what Joe Sixpack could afford the muscle car era still cannot be beat. I have a story ....

I think for ninjutsu it's solid maybe if you wanted a stronger helix(reive capes still better for duration) otherwise just seems like a worse ambu cape that saves you inventory at the cost of lots of wasted time not getting matter

I don't think many people on this planet have failed to get a drop from Cargo Crab Colin as many times and across as many years as I have, but I'd love to be proven wrong. That said I never tracked attempt numbers so I wouldn't even know for sure.

arguably if anyone had any real brags, it'd likely be the ballista royale prizes (laurel crown / custom promathia pc), but that'd be limited to... what, 12 (or 6 for the latter?) people who played in 2005?
Looking them up, it seems like all of the JP team quit between 2008~2013 and one of them apparently showed up again in august '25, US team's also long gone.

Is the Kagero set the same as the Jinpu set?
Yes

yes, you gear all the hybrids the same. only difference is you could arguably augment koki with weatherspoon ring, i guess.

drop_item() takes an index without specifying the bag, as well - if the wing is 'index 4' in bag 3, won't drop_item(4,1) drop the 4th index in your inventory bag?
windower.ffxi.drop_item(slot, count) takes two arguments, but only lets you drop an item present in main Inventory, as for the longest time that was the only bag you could drop stuff from. Currently, to drop items from Temporary or other bags, you can inject manually a custom 0x028 packet.

OTOH it feels like it robs some of the manual-ness out of it and, even though I can turn it off, I'm hesitant to do so.
It's part of the reason I love bikes so much. Even though most have a quick shifter now days, you can always use the clutch and do it yourself and it feels amazing to do it like that.
Most quick shifters on bikes work better going up not down anyway, manual down shifts are usually smoother, except on race bikes at >10k RPM but those aren't meant for the street.

New autos are faster, too. Used to be times would be quicker with the manual, but new autos (like PDK) put down better times than manuals will, they can shift faster than any person could.
I've only driven one PDK car and I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to buy one. Personally for me, the newer a car gets the further it gets from something I actually enjoy driving.

Sequentials on cars are all the rage in the custom car scene but those are electronically controlled with the computer auto-blipping for you. It's like a fancy semi-auto rather than a real sequential. Not really a fan.
My GRC auto-blips also, which I have mixed feelings on.
It was really fun at first, just downshifting and automatically having the revs match up without messing with it was really fun. It's accurate 100% of the time, which is helpful considering how weird that car revs compared to other sticks I've had.
OTOH it feels like it robs some of the manual-ness out of it and, even though I can turn it off, I'm hesitant to do so. The motor has a weird feel to it and a lot of people are burning up their clutches at <20k miles and Toyota is refusing to warranty them, so I figure leaving it on might be a safer bet.
The gearing in the Porsches I've had over the years is a lot more enjoyable to drive IMO, but *** they are getting expensive to maintain.

I never did learn to drive stick.
My dad taught me how to drive, as my mom had taught my older brothers, and said that it was dad's turn.
I got my license just fine, but after that Dad said, "You should learn to drive stick. It's a good skill to have. But I'm not gonna just teach you stick like I did driving. You'll have to want to learn to drive stick."
And me, being lazy, and used to him cajoling me inevitably waited for the cajoling that never came. Eh I'm in the same boat kinda. Had to learn manual to pass the license exam (eternities ago) but never really drove one, & wouldn't want to tbh. Auto is just too convenient, especially given how mad the driving culture here can get & how bad the traffic is. If I ever have to drive a manual, I'll manage. It's not something that bothers me.

could just upshift through the gears without touching the clutch.
Yup, works on downshifts too. On my bike sometimes it just happens on its own, put my foot on the lever to shift down while slowing and it slips into a downshift on its own without touching the clutch.
Safe as long as you don't force it.
I don't do it on upshifts cause it feels like forcing it. Barely need to touch the clutch it's so quick anyway.

Sadly stick shift is going the way of the dodo.
There are, however, companies that still sell new sports cars that are manual only. Not a fan of Porshe's driving style but their gated manual gearboxes are things of beauty.
Also not a fan of sequential transmissions on cars, just feels weird. On a motorcycle of course they make sense, but that's different. On a good sequential you can even shift without the clutch if you match the revs correctly. On my Nortons I could just upshift through the gears without touching the clutch. It was just put a bit of toe on the shift lever while slacking the throttle and it would just slip into the next gear. Not the quickest way to get from off the line to warp speed though.
Never had a car with a sequential transmission.
I do miss manuals.

I low-key loved this part about OG BST leveling. I spent a year behind Garlaige Citadel Banish Gate#2, just charming beetles and killing Bombs. Some days, I'd do it for 30 minutes between classes. It was very fun to pick up and go / kill a few / logout as my free time allowed.
It was the main reason I leveled bst. I'd logout at the camp, login and XP for 30min-1hr and log back out.
Going back to the cities felt like a chore that you had to do to buy food or reraise scrolls and always sucked to have to trek back out there again.
Cape Terrigan was my favourite for this, nice open spaces, good scenery, goblins that blew up nicely.
Upper Delkfut's tower.. man I spent waaaaaaaaay too long up there for lack of better XP camps. Had a good time laughing at a rdm and nin couple that tried and failed to kill Alkyoneus that I could solo with pets at a lower level than them.
Then the snowy mountain region came out and had bombs you could kill for a while before they removed them for whatever reason.
FU SE for ruining bst. /bitter

being a 2 hander before 2006 was awful really, you were slow, gained less TP despite having a longer delay weapon, and your dmg wasnt even that great compared to the lower delay guys hitting the mob except when you were getting 100+ tp from your Penta Thrust with Relic Lance equipped and then using Penta Thrust and then getting 100+...
(yeah yeah, Monks did it better)
edit:
But in the newly christened 2-hander kingdom, you just buffed me as WAR/nin, and we did enough damage that UFOs Regen over water didn't even matter. the what
this has been in the game since Sea launched, hasn't it?! Al'taieu was inaccessible until February of 2005. Well before either change to 2-handers, so no, this was not the way, "since Sea came out."
Like maybe some real amazeballs bleeding edge guys who stepped on the nuts of 63 people at a time and had Relics already or something could live like that, but it was not a universal experience. Hell, most people didn't even get through CoP in 2004/2005.

The code you quoted specifies 0 as the parameter for get_items(), which means to only pull the list from the Inventory bag. The Temporary bag is separate from the Inventory bag. You will need to use the right number on the second line.
