When I was preteen to teen books were safe.
And the books were going to rot your mind and turn you into a potato?

I can think of a few that do, but we're not allowed to talk about those subjects here.

No. Technology has ruined clubbing because they're afraid someone is going to record them dancing and post it on tiktok to embarass them. Why are guys so shy with girls now? They're afraid of the girl recording herself rejecting him and posting it on social media. There's a number of instances of this same mentality, young people frozen by fear, because of social media. You'll have girls trying to be slick with their phone out on the table at their dinner date because they're trying to record it. When the man doesn't act the way she wants she tries to shame him. Like what? Failure wasn't so bad when it was private or kept amongst a small number of people, but it's mighty tough to be brave nowadays. You'll have some Karen at BurgerKing throwing a fit over nonsense recording it to share on social media because she wasn't to be rude to the employees. Then the ones that make the post? They don't get called out or shamed for their behavior. The feedback loop. They get rewarded with engagement from people online, furthering my point. They aren't incentivized to behave when they get rewarded online for their behavior. So when you wonder why things have become so divisive: it's AI. It's the algorithms that make up your feed and cater your Amazon shopping experience. Like I said, many of you are ok with AI. Oh you use gearswap? That's a form of AI. AI can be really useful. Some of you have a problem with plebians playing with AI like children to make nonsense like Pokemane deepfakes that are ruined for you because she has too many fingers.

I would say Gen Z is the current biggest proponent of AI usage followed by Millenials, but not all Millenials are the same. Some have embraced AI while others scorn it as they see the writing on the wall. Gravy train jobs like low level coder have been replaced by AI usage. This is part of why some Millenials are revolting against AI integration. They see it as a hindrance instead of a helper. Gen Alpha would be like the current 14 year olds. Sure they also will use AI, but it isn't nuanced like the integral system build on the backs of coders that laid the frame work. Even this site, the ads you get are curated by AI based upon your browsing history on other websites. AI is way more than just chataGPT or GoogleGemini. You guys don't even realize how much it's been integrated into everyday life. Siri? AI. Alexa? AI. tons of things use artificial intelligence. The concern is AI with sentience, which is something we currently do not have.

That's correct. When comparing the potency effect between the 222 MND/222 MND + Ice Shot x2 data sets (about +10% increase to 25%) to the increase between the 262 MND/262 MND + Ice Shot x2 data sets (about +5% increase to 30%) we can reasonably deduce that the threshold for paralysis potency enhancement is 30%. For any paralysis effect over 30% Quick Draw will do nothing.

Thank you. Also, am I misremembering the testing or does para proc rate have its own nm nerf of around 50%?

I'm guessing paralyze has the same issue as the other enfeebles wherein a full strength sabo para II + enfeeb potency gear hits some kind of cap where quickdraw does nothing?

I do believe AI content is possibly the first time that long lived warm could actually be true, but can acknowledge those who came before me likely felt that way to the media concern at the time like videogame, tv, movies, comic book, regular books, the first form of entertainment.

Which zones have Alicorns instead of Ixions for the New Years Event? I'm trying to get the mount, but the random zones I've tried so far have all been Ixion zones.

Today was the second go round of rainbow chests. Got a silver voucher on main, since I haven't tossed the impish box, and much to my surprise, I did not get another impish box on my mule, but instead a Sacro Gorget.

By kids do you mean preteens and teens? Because those are the ages of terminal embarrassment. People in those age groups would usually do ANYTHING to avoid talking to any human out of their age group. Sometimes its any human at all.

When I was preteen to teen books were safe. Little else was.

pretty certain they explicitly said after the dia/bio changes that they will only go up 1 rank

with 2 shots having an cumulative effect on other debuffs I wonder if it also applies to dia with 2x shot

Trends come and go. Like a fart in the wind.

There are only niche situations where you wouldn’t want to use cento offhand, and even then there’s a good argument to just stick with canto anyway.

It's a social trend. You don't care because you're jaded. I think it's neat. Like keeping up with fashion.

Speaking of slop...

Anyone else hella disappointed by the Stranger Things season 5?

Was like, the season started out OK, deteriorated, and then the ending was just meh. Then actively bad writing. With every interview Duffers give making it worse lmao

Yes, agree. The final battle felt so rushed and over in a flash. Wish they spent more time with it instead of the epilogue. Such a Shane because season 4 was incredible. The entirety of 5 was Ok but not paced well.

You know how you can tell you guys are getting older? AI upsets you. You think it's slop or it's lazy or uninspired or whatever. The kids these days love AI. They'll struggle on a project and ask chatGPT for help. That should tell you everything you need to know. The parents are absent from their lives to the point that they're more comfortable asking chatGPT for help than their neighbor or parent or teacher. It has more to do with a general trend of discontinuity. The rising loneliness epidemic? A symptom of a greater problem. People are disengaged with reality as they've become addicted to technology. Things like a sense of community are crumbling. Instead of joining the elks club you have people that think a discord server can replace the bonding that takes place through real world interactions. It doesn't. There's something that's lost in online interactions. Humans are very much social creatures (apes strong together). By isolating individuals they become easier to control. AI integration accelerates isolationism. I'll admit AI is flawed as it takes after it's creator (as man is flawed so too shall it's machinations be flawed). That's become a feature. AI can be used to manipulate the populous and direct patterns. Anyone else notice quarter zip fleece pull overs were popular in men's fashion this year? Is that natural selection or market manipulation? Someone somewhere decided that was going to be the fashion trend for fall/winter 2025 so AI is used to leave subtle queues that lead consumers to purchase said product.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is AI isn't new persay. The difference is now laymen are using it obviously and it upsets you that you're aware of it. You guys have no problem with AI when it's an enemy in game for you to fight, but when it's sending you subliminal messages to consume you're upset. More times than not that fatigue stems from a lack of funds to continue consumption. Calling it slop is cute. Your the pigs as the consumers and you're full so you can't eat anymore. That's why it's not appetizing.

I think, things you guys as FFXI players pride yourselves is things like problem solving skills that AI usage undermines. Another part of why you guys are upset is because you guys like working through the problem (means justifies the ends). Kids think that's stupid. Why are you doing napkin math when we hav Excel? It happens to every generation as new technology becones more widely used and older folks fail to adapt (you can't teach an old dog new tricks, Panta). AI is to you guys what the smart phone was to boomers.

As far as I can tell, the Ixion in North Gustaberg gave me FES key on all of my characters and mules first try with San d'Orian Carrot. Alicorn takes more trades but grants the mount.

I wish more companies would ban AIs for work purposes.

All that slop stains, and it does not come out.

Only because some still think crap is an obscene word.
Crap might be a stronger word, but slop just seems to fit it better IMO. Churning out quantity over quality to occupy the lowest common denominator. Like a trough full of pig slop.

question: is it wise to invest in a setan for steps? and would you main hand it or off hand it? Also what path do you take it?
Dont see much info on the weapon or i just overlook it maybe :)

The amount of TP you spend on steps at endgame is totally irrelevant, so using it as an offhand is a HORRIBLE value proposition.

If you're going to use it as a MH, you won't be caring about the step TP consumption either (see above), but it could be alright. It will never be able to compete with a proper REMA though.

Path B is a nice way to cap SB, if you need that for some reason. I haven't personally found there's a place that justifies this.

Path C is good to reduce the cooldown of Climactic Flourish, the main DPS tool, and Reverse Flourish (minor, but it exists). It can be an OK weapon for Aminon, since that fight is based around these JA. Keep in mind though, with WC/RD/Grand Pas, you will likely not be able to get as much out of this cooldown reduction as you might expect/hope.

It's an OK starter weapon, but doesn't see much/any use in endgame, given all weapons are available to you.

Is sublime sushi still the "go to" accuracy food? I know my server is pretty dead but it's pretty limited and so is the salmon used to make it. I see the newer daifukus arent an unbearable downgrade tho

Sublime is the best acc food, but some alternatives include:

Grape Daifuku+1, as you mentioned, is 85
Marine Stewpot, an AoE food, gives 90 and also gives 90 macc
Riverfin soup has 90 acc with 80 atk (95/85 if HQ)
Rolanberry Daifuku+1 is good for acc/macc if you're poor.

You're using external factors to justify why Sortie isnt boring when you could apply those same external factors to Limbus.
