Made a more edgy version of the dark knight helm, with blacked out face and a more prominent chin guard. Also added some lights to the eyes and a lens flare effect, I think it would probably be something people will get sick of pretty quick though. Dunno whether to remove the lights or not.

Maybe I'm blind but where is the link for these 2 DRK helmets?

Now look at the accuracy for the two sets.

I'll save you the trouble. It's EXTREMELY capped in both sets. SAM has absolutely no accuracy problems. Without even attempting to look at accuracy, SAM is typically in 1400+ accuracy in engaged set, without food.

You know what having extra accuracy when you're already capped for that target is called? A complete waste of stats.

If you really want to cap Zanshin rate there's Unkai mimikazari for +3% or af feet +3/+4 for +5%. However, more store tp is a bigger bonus than even a 4% missing zanshin (24% zanhasso rate at 96% zanshin).

LOL my man out here like "why would you wear these TERRIBLE boots?!" and then literally suggesting an ENTIRE EARRING that does nearly nothing. Trading 8 STP for 3% Zahsin and 1 STP? Great trade. You know what's terrible though? 5 Zanshin, 5 STP, and 11% chance to DA on Zanshin hits. That's garbage. You know what's a great piece of footwear though? 5 Zanshin, 0 STP, and 0 DA. Now THAT is a quality piece of gear.

It's really difficult to take anything you say seriously. You have a massive, raging erection for meva and it's a bit strange.

Taking Limbus for example: you know what happens when I get paralyzed in Limbus? Monberaux removes it before I can even notice the icon. It's not a game-breaking, life-changing event.

If the ROE bubble doesn't have the "new" yellow circle, it hasn't been completed at least once. Even the ones that repeat will turn off after you've done them at least once. The resetting ones will turn off until they reset, then they come back on again (which is why they don't count).

Don't ninjutsu nukes already lower elemental resistance of the opposing element of the ninjutsu nuke?

note worth difference between what atom0s explains there and the windower implementation.

his example sets mipmap to 6, ours sets it to the value the user has defined.

I hate the magic burst wall -

I would get just rid of it - or - Make it work only if a nuke job of the same type nuked behind each other - Let RDMs SCHs GEOs nuke

And when / if you run out of MP, do you toggle on AF chest and nuke a bit to get MP back?

AF body can't return more MP than is used, so it's more of an MP conservation swap than MP restoral. But nuking with a staff and using Myrkr is all the MP you will ever need in any fights, in addition to idle sets, aspir (when applicable), Manafont, Manawell, Parsimony, Ballads, Refreshes, Moonlight, and elixirs.

The nuke wall is ridiculous. But whats ludicrous is how people defend it with "well rayke exists"

I was actually talking to someone about this yesterday. I would like to see other ways of reduce magic resist rank / elemental tiers other than Rayke. Imagine if a PUP's Automaton could Gambit/Rayke? (and do more than a crummy 2-step L1/L2 skillchain...but that's another story).

Change ancient magic, ninjutsu and en II spells to reduce resitance rank for a short period.

As for not having anything comparable to climactic, I'm going to have to disagree. I know full well how strong climactic is, but if you can land both sneak and trick attack the damage output is comparable. Two criticals that are very strong in their own right is about as good or better than one critical that gets boosted higher. Sneak attack is the harder of the two to land but I've had parties where I can hit it pretty regularly, and bully helps with removing the directional requirement for one in 3 sneak attacks. Climactic is on a 90 second timer and sneak and trick attack are 60 and 50 seconds with merits, so when you factor downtime from running between camps it's reasonable to expect 1 sneak and trick attack for every 1 climactic. It's all about landing those positionals.

Climactic is way easier to use and will boost like 3WSs and 3 melee hits for the cost of two ja cooldowns.

I said Ms Chatty was.

As for not realizing the raids in 14 were based on 12 and not tactics
The raids are set in Ivalice, so it's got locales from both FFT and FF12, but the story is mostly influenced by Tactics. FF12 characters, lore and legacy have much smaller presence compared to FFT.

I had no idea there was so much drama around 12
Nor did I. Links please.
Basically, every mainline non-MMO FF title released after the Square-Enix merger (i.e. after FF10) had to go under development hell (usually involving changes in management or game vision) for whatever reason. 12, 13 and 15 suffered greatly because of this, and it is evidently reflected on cohesion & overall experience of the final product not meeting long-time fans' expecations.

Right but what was that behavior? Does each level define the number of mipmaps or bias the LOD value any? Is it only rewriting a value inside memory that instructs the FFXI engine to do something?

I don't know these details, but in this post Wiccaan shows the RE'd code from the client which is maybe helpful to you?

Hi, just had a few newbie BLM questions:

  • How do you use BLM in long single-target fights exactly? I'm thinking if a BLM is in a fight to begin with then it's a fight needing MBing so their job would be to go on their strongest MB set (which I think currently is a mix of agwu + wicce) and do that. But what about outside bursts? Do you just nuke tier 1-2 spells? And when / if you run out of MP, do you toggle on AF chest and nuke a bit to get MP back?

  • Though on the BGWiki set page it shows wicce + agwu make the strongest nuking/burst set, it seems only slightly more potent than another set below it using 5/5 relic for macc. With the small DPS difference I'm thinking the only reason to use the former set above relic 5/5 is for conserve MP, but then I wonder if one could just go 5/5 relic always to keep macc stacked, and slot in AF chest for a bit to recover MP. Without conserveMP it would probably have MP going up and down a lot more than with the wicce set.

Anyway, most of it is theory for me right now in my head but would love some thoughts / feedback / experiences / tips, thanks.

Let's not pretend they wouldn't give it mainly to SAM

LOL they'd totally give it to SAM.

But hey, I could see it also going to jobs like THF DNC, NIN (replace the WSD job point gifts with WSD II!), BLU (maybe even a trait from a new BLU spell?)...

Quote:
I understand what are you guys saying, but change like that would require to rebalance TONS of stuff (items, traits, weaponskills) and you wouldn't even know if the end result would change anything for better. This would realistically require more dev work than job adjustments. I'm being realistic and I know it would end up just really bad.

I think you're right, which is why I don't realistically expect anything like it either. But if they had more development resources allocated to XI, I don't see it as fundamentally unreasonable or illogical to look at a WSD cap just like so many other stats in the game have a cap.
By disturbedmidget on 2026-01-27 12:51:16
Their solution to power creep has already been introduced and it is limbus mob innate DT. This lets them not have to rewrite the damage calculations to allow for greater than 100k damage per instance.

If they add anything in the future just expect this rather than some new silly job trait or new stat on gear. PDL addressed one issue, the DT addresses another.

Jobs don't need adjustments, they need a reason to fill their niche. If all jobs were balanced perfectly in a 30 second or 1 minute zerg or 5 minute long fight, there would be no identity to any of them.

Some weaponskill adjustments would be welcomed though.

Assuming samurai roll Sailfi+suppa+eabani is bis for this set. Even raiki+Eabani+R30Alabaster/Dedition is worse (keep in mind this set is 24+ haste without belt, so you most likely need some haste to cap).
