I’m trying to convince myself to do the set, yes the MEVA is of big concern to me, and I agree, all my sets have a tendency of being the opposite of papier mâche. I do follow Sim simulator (stuff he posted) but definitely skipped anything that is not modern in a sense. I like what melliny posted, but the tally of MEVA is concerning, granted there isn’t much in a sense of challenging. Happy about the conversation so far thought

RE: the aquaveil set.
regal cuffs would give +1 more shadow than chironic gloves even if the chironic gloves got you over a skill break point. can also do a second stikini ring +1 and andoaa earring for +13 skill if you really need skill. Unless that set is supposed to be actually defensive, which I guess it is, but not really. |

84 Tick Regen IV set while maintaining 50 DT. However, it only lasts for 3min compared to the guides 3min 30secs set. But in Sortie 3min is long enough. In segs 3mins gives you plenty of time to store up stratagems as /sch. Look for the right window to reapply in Gaol.

For ninja specifically as its the job I primarily play. Ran sim with /drg and /war lucky sam roll, 4/5 revelation pieces does come out "BiS" when putting in some reasonable values for DT(50MDT primarily) with malignance hands coming out on top still for the slot(not surprised). But we are talking such marginal gains in tp speed for a relatively large amount of MEVA loss.

4/5 Revelation + Malignance Hands reports 2.615 VS 2.796 with 4/5 Malignance + Nyame A head. Difference of 0.181 seconds for time/WS.

4/5 Revelation + Malignance hands 2.487 VS 4/5 malignance + Nyame A head 2.642, difference of 0.155.
521 MEVA VS 674 MEVA. 153 less MEVA is substantial considering the tp gain is near negligible.
As noted above, the sim isn't gospel but it is a useful tool that does make you question how you may want to spend your time and or gil in your character development.
I for one can't justify this set for NIN unfortunately. Haven't looked into its value for WAR but I imagine its very similar. |

But why make another EP camp when Limbus exists and gives you limbus points on top? At 70k/hr, it will take you 371 hours of limbus to ML50 a job.
Are you using corsair roll during your Limbus climbs?
Maybe it's not as good as the top-end EP camps, but it also gives you limbus points on top it's not just EP.
Like EP is supposed to be - get it while doing content.
Here's the real catch - if you're botting EP why aren't you botting Limbus to get EP and Limbus points at the same time?
Inb4 " botting Limbus is a quick way to get banned", no, try again. There have been camps of limbus bots since day1, same characters still there.
There was rumors going around about limbus bannings of prominent members of forums here. But I think they were POS hacking personally, still think SE doesn't care outside of the auto system. |

Simulations and calculators are still invaluable tools, especially when used right. If you compare a glass set and a turtle set and they're 2% different in DPS, you should take the turtle one. If it's 80% different, you may want to consider swapping. Or comparing different levels of DW, multi-attack, how valuable a hoxne ampulla is, etc.
You just can't (read: shouldn't) blindly follow whatever the sim says is bis. Which i think is a fair, albeit succinct and over simplified, criticism Hya was making. Lots of idiots just sim, paste the set into their lua, and don't spend a second thinking about it.
Or worse, some people just ask others to sim and paste the set for them.

All of the stuff he said is not related to sim. Unless you have a sim that simulates defensive values against something, then sure. I think you just wanted to jump in and say something bad about sims, but you completely missed. |

Pretty easy to verify if you dont believe me. Go to temenos NEW, kill 4, note unit gain, kill 4 more, note unit gain (should be half), kill 4 more, note unit gain (same as previous).
It's halved once on that Value once you have the floor KI and then stays that way, evidently until you spend the KI |

If you had to attribute/recommend a minimum master level for Aminon, and perhaps basement Sortie in general, what would your recommendation be?
For general endgame, I'd recommend 30 as a baseline for most content... its easily achievable and provides the bulk of your stats.
For aminon specifically, 45 is ideal for most jobs. Allows new PLDs who sub RUN to get foil, allows RDM and GEO subbing dark to get the next tier of Occult Acumen, and its just overall alot more stats.
That being said, 45 is a much longer grind than 30, and 30 is EASILY serviceable. Realistically, you could kill Aminon at ML0. Its just a huge chunk of accuracy/macc you're losing |

Normal people dont use Lehko's ring anyway, so just slot in a Moonlight ring instead w/ the AF+4 pants and you're basically fine

We just kill in the middle somewhere, did it 3 times and we reach 12K/hour. It does take some work and around 600 mobs/hour, for reference. We try both area, need a minimum of 20 spawn mobs for a party of 6

Get points every time a bar is filled, every X number of mobs depending on tower size.
100% first time, then 50%, then 25% and so forth - idk the cap.
An alliance of 12 gets 50% of points per each character.
Meaning an alliance of 12 needs to kill 2x the number of mobs for the same amount of points compared to a party of 6. 110 per bar fill seems to be the floor. So i guess what your saying is just keep moving and filling the bar is faster than just camping on one floor |
