Ampulla is pretty amazing. It's so strong.
But me personally, I'm going to have to be selective when using it going forward. While it's only a couple hundred k on RDM in a Sortie run, it was over 1m for an Apollyon climb on DRG.

For Ultima I found RUN is able to survive Citadel Buster with 3x Tenebrae Valiance alone, however everyone should have Scherzo (SMN titan ward may work, I never verified). Scherzo + Migawari (maybe EA) is the only way for non-RUNs to survive Citadel Buster.
I went back in the logs and noticed Citadel Buster was used every 3-5 minutes, maybe timed based it's hard to tell.
I noticed Nuclear Waste was used Roughly 60 seconds after Citadel Buster so you might be able to plan ahead for fetters and pre-emptively leave.
If someone else has time stamps with logs saved it would be nice if someone could verify and corroborate my log timings with their own logs, but I had 4-5 instances of the 60 second timer so I'm inclined to believe it.
Scherzo + MDB buffs (Fend, Magus Roll) is great to have. I was able to get all TP moves reduced to 500-1k with those buffs.
With a bunch of MDB buffs the fetters were hitting for 150-250 and it made it much more managable to leave that chaotic moment alive.
I noticed Ultima used a full dispel 2 times in our kill, unsure if it's HP % based or Time based. It was used roughly 60% and 10%.
I think we spent about 1 hour 30 minutes taking him from 100% to 60% and like 45 minutes doing 60% to dead and DPS ramped up a ton when we had a bit of coordination. We would call what direction we were going to run to when Nuclear waste was used and we were able to prevent maybe 75% of deaths compared to earlier which was great.
Fun fight though, although the ability for someone to MPK it was not fun. Someone dropped a fetter at the start and I died once entering the zone -_-. Keep Ultima away from the entrance.

I kinda don't see that as good content. Fewer people doing an event doesn't sound like the proper foot forward for an event like this. Who was this content made for? People who farm EP the legit way?

"I spent 4 hours dying over and over, I'm now gonna have to spend 5 hours just to reclaim the EP I lost because the content was constantly putting out more damage than my max HP even if I was turtled up as most I could".
Thats not great content, sorry. Let's be real, he's just going to bot or buy those points back. For the average player, though, the EP loss will absolutely dissuade them from wanting to do this content. Especially so if there is no personal reward. Once the novelty wears off, turnout for these fights will likely wane, though it may be a good thing to have less interference from people unfamiliar with the fight.

Flaming crush doesnt benefit much from double attack. The prime staff is better. Fc should get its own set with slight gear differences
Volt strike, hysteric assault and predator claws are da/ftp.

Im still not sure if I prefer too cold or too hot. ...
Sweat is one of the things I really despise, and here we sweat by walking a few meters or just sitting in a chair Humidity.
It makes cold colder and hot miserable. I live in an arid climate. 105 F (40.5 C) here with under 20% humidity is far more comfortable than Washington DC or Ohio at 95 F (35 C) and 95%.
The most miserably cold I have been was New York city at 5 F (-15 C) with a fierce wind blowing through the steel canyons and humidity in the 80s somewhere. I have been outdoors in temps as low as -20 F (-29 C) with the sun out, no wind and low humidity.

I couldn't help but think the voice is AI but who knows these days. Judging by the channel itself, seems like the person is trans and not very consistent about their voice masking. But, it could be AI.
Either way, it feels like Horizon stans are camping YouTube just to advertise. It's always the first few comments, somehow. Wouldn't be that surprised if they were advertising bots, tbh.
She sounds like an ordinary woman free the eastern half of the US. Also, the Lo-Fi in the channel name explains the for the deep, slightly raspy vocals without much bass.
FFXI is great because it reminds us that if you put an upper-limit on things like graphics, you're free to expand almost infinitely on areas that makes games enjoyable: story, depth, play-style (RPG, multi-player, solo, combat, crafting, etc etc)...These are all of things that make up a "great game" and with FFXI specifically, these qualities are allowed to take front and center stage. (I think weirdbarbie's video implies this).
Also, while writing this, I came up with an idea for an addon-scenario: A obnoxiously wealthy Tarutaru named Elmo Fusk, shows up in Bastok with an an army of Cardians who are all ready to take the Galkas' jobs.

For SE the ampula is a gimmick, a throw away gag item that spends gil in exchange for dmg ala gil toss.
To the XI community it's a required DD piece and if you don't spend 2m gil/hour to increase your DPS, you're a gimp. When I started reading that, I was expecting to finish with "it was Tuesday"
So I must fix this.

Out of curiosity, if I wanted to get a FES key in the window before jp midnight and after starlight celebration starts tomorrow, which of the listed events would be the fastest, assuming I get existing rewards out of storage to force the key?

I lost ~600k exemplar points during this fight, but it was a lot of fun. What a... peculiar concept of having fun! :p "Fun in moderation" seems like a reasonable way to describe it, honestly! There's not a lot like this in 2025.

Weirdbarbie here has a lotta other labels for themself like, "AudHD" and pronouns listed into the, "They" column. Just seems like a chick that buys into all those kinds of labels. "AudHD" is supposedly, Autistic with ADHD, and this is my first time encountering it (course I don't go around much of the internet as I used too). Also tons of her vids are labeled as being filmed in Edmonton which is the capital of Alberta Canada.
So northern-western Canadian either way.
Enough about that though, about the comments... Since they're coming from the angle of being XIV player first (though their XIV experience seems just as new as their XI experience) there's a lot of XIV players being like, "Oh I always wanted to get into XI! I just never had the time!" or any other list of excuses/"I always loved this game I never played because it's being endorsed now"
Better late than never, I suppose, but it all reeks of insincerity. Maybe I've reached being an old curmudgeon territory though.

The Hoxne Ampulla was the perfect candidate for a long, hard, involved quest line à la Black Belt. Instead it's a random roll. Such a missed opportunity.
Be happy they haven't put it as 1st place bonanza reward exclusive. I am.

Im still not sure if I prefer too cold or too hot.
I suppose I prefer colder if there isnt any drastic temperature change. Here, October and November had too many temperature fluctuations. I spent most time being sick during that time.
I also generally dont go outside too often, so I suppose staying at home during cold weather is better than spending the day sweating while sitting.

Mob Psycho 100 is a very interesting and fun story overall, though in my eyes, this last arc is starting to become dragged.
Mostly because the mangaka decided to turn the story in a typical battle shonen story for the last arc.
What is annoying because it was never meant to be one, it hadnt a proper build up to be one. And the terrible art just makes this worse.
Thanks God they decided to do this right in the end. If they decided to go battle shonen earlier, probably I would have dropped it like I dropped Dandadan.
Im ok with fights in manga, but they must have a meaning, a context, a setup. Most modern manga fail in this aspect, and just drop long and boring fights with secondary, maybe tertiary characters with no background and stupid motivations.
Generally is the same of having two NPC fighting each other just because. And modern manga have been abusing this for a while

I’m pretty sure he was talking about ranger shooting for tp versus meleeing, particularly since he mentioned Coronach. I agree that savage k club build is on par with other dds. I don’t think it’s ahead of some of the others with prime, but it’s in the same category. Purely shooting only ranger does fall behind very badly though, and if you don’t have a k club you don’t stand a chance of keeping up with other dds. You need that 999 million Gil item to hold up against the field on ranger. So in that light no… it’s absolutely not broken.
Not sure if that's uplifting for some or not, but I simed that new set for RNG with Crepuscular offhand and it was only 5% behind KC offhand, while having no problem with subhand accuracy (in fact having massive accuracy advantage). So if you decide to put work and gils into this set, you pretty much wont need KC for Savage build anymore.

I certainly would have been a lot happier about the situation... I had to clean the ceiling after... I would have been smugly saying to myself... it was worth it. However, this was not the case

Its always a benefit to have a positive video about the game, so it doesn't hurt and I enjoyed hearing their perspective.
Their comments about any PS game that have gone all the way to the bottom make them look irrelevant.

I always assume these fluff videos are done for "content" or growing subs, usually from xiv players just doing some nostalgia bit. So they usually dont stick around, which is okay. Its always a benefit to have a positive video about the game, so it doesn't hurt and I enjoyed hearing their perspective. I couldn't help but think the voice is AI but who knows these days.
