Spirit Taker -blm
if anyone feels bored enough, what do you think the ideal build for it would be? I just got it and messing around but it seems like it will be quite useful for campaigning
I bumped my Spirit Taker damage up to almost 600 at 300 TP with SA on SMN/THF, using full INT/MND gear. Errant/Mahatma, Penitent's Rope, that kind of thing.

does weapon damage have anything to do with it?
It most certainly does, yes. I was using some LV72ish staff, Grim Staff or something, probably way off. I know Mercurial Pole receives drastically reduced damage.
The idea build for max modifiers would be something like
Staff/Pole//P.Tath Morri/Prudence/Mamool Ja Earring/2 INT or 2 MND earring Morri/Yigit/Tamas/Aqua Prism/Witch/Morri/Morri Assuming accuracy is ok (which it should be in campaign). STR and Attack will still increase the damage, which is why I used Aqua for the small STR boost and its also why pure Errant/Mahatma wouldn't be ideal. I also am amazed at how Ent reads wiki and just names the modifiers of a WS.. Then tells people he did this, this, and this. When all he ever really did was level jobs, act like he lived with his epussy and then demanded to only play jobs he just leveled. Which he still sucks at.

If u gave it up then why follow/post on these forums? ive never really messed with blm in campaign, but i used to do a *** ton with smn. i can testify to 600+ SA spirit takers. with int/mnd build and carby pole ws'ing at 100%~, my avg was 3-450, with the occasional 500+ and rare 600+. no parses, just my personal experience with at least a couple months of pretty solid smn campaigning back in the day.

Wow, I never realized Spirit Taker actually has mods and could be made better -.-; I guess I gave up on spirit taker long ago when I got Mystic Boon for WHM. The only time I used Spirit Taker on BLM was when I was leveling staff from 230 (WHM staff cap) to 240 (BLM staff cap). Good to know, I guess.
On the campaign note, a couple friends of mine who campaign as BLM use that KS30 scythe (Gravedigger?) and swear by it. No MP recovery obviously, but I'm sure they said they pulled better exp/an with their melee damage. You can always Aspir your MP back as well.
