@Xenophire

wear what u want to wear. math dosnt lie, in actuality denali head does indeed sucks and turban is easier to obtain especially if u merit / party in ToA aeras on the regular.

all & all... just take that walk of shame, it happens to the best of us if u prefer denali over w/e else… do you thats, thats. but from one person to the other bro u sinking yourself deeper. the argument on why denali dosnt suck to you is not worth it, why challenge the math?

i think right around when u said something like “well denali looks better then turban, that’s why i wear it” that’s when people started to not take u serious. i mean, like ok.. u want to rock denali as town gear cool but to rock it in party situations when their is better choices you can choose from? come on bro, really?

It's probably 100, or more times easier to get a turban over a novio, though:)

The only reason not to have a turban is laziness.

That's like saying "Moldavite earring sucks" because Novio earrings exist. Where's the logic behind that?

no, infact this discussion would be more like

"Yeah, I have both moldy earring and novio, but since I like moldy better I'm gonna use it over novio. Besides, I like the way it looks better, all green and that."

SMALL increase

Uhh, small? Any melee with a haste build will be hurt dropping 1% haste in meripo/salvage etc etc. Anything you'll be fighting for long periods of time, your DPS will drop considerably.

And if looks are the problem, dat swap? Also, it's free if you y'know, farm the Imperial standing.

1,000 Imperial Bronze Pieces = 20,000 Imperial Standing = 20 Imperial Gold Pieces = 200k. I think I'd rather just stick with Denali. Oh wow. If sold in stacks of Bronze Pieces, it's more like 300k. Even better reason in my book.

Pfft at the people accusing us of being lazy. If not wanting to spend 200-300k for an ugly turban that offers a SMALL increase makes me lazy, then call me lazy.
Ever merit? See that IS you have bulding up?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Opportunity cost. Man, people really need to study more in school.

Please, do explain 'opportunity cost'.

Really? I don't have a turban. Your example fails.

My question is, why do you even have one.

Unless you...
-Climbed to 100 and it happened to drop.

-Were helping a friend get Goliard head and it happened to drop.

-Were going for Goliard head and Denali went freelot.

-Were going for a Nyzul Weapon and it happened to drop, and went freelot.

-Had the hat anyway because you have THF... which you do, but you should still get a Turban... and should've gotten it first @_@;;

-Rare occasion that your friend has a DEX war and wants Askar head.

There's like... no reason to spam floor 100 in hopes of getting a bonnet when you could just farm gil/use your ISP on gold pieces (or do ISNMs for gil) to fund a Walalala Turban which is overall better.

You apparently never heard of PS2 or Xbox players

Fair enough. And what is opportunity cost? You haven't heard of job specific gear either, I see you're leveling BLM, plan to use Denali for your haste head there too? That's why Turban is awesome, all jobs, not hard at all to get, free if you xp/merit a lot, and better than it's weaker counterparts.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opportunity_cost

Choosing to spend the Imperial Standing on the ugly Turban doesn't make it free. The IS could be spent on Imperial Pieces that would then be sold. Meaning, the quest to get this hat has an opportunity cost between 200,000-300,000 on my server.

How else can I explain this? I'm going to trust you've got this, since this is a concept I believe they teach at a fairly young age in most school systems.

You're going to spend that gil, aren't you? Otherwise there's no point in having it. Why not skip a step of buying from other people when you have already earned the IS? If you merit (you have COR so I feel it's a safe assumption) then you have the IS. You are taking no further steps or effort towards earning the IS specifically for the gear.

Not choosing a proven better piece of gear is laziness and stubborness. More so when it requires no extra effort on your part.

I knew exactly what you were talking about, I just wanted you to elaborate to save myself assumptions.

At the risk of opening myself up to ridicule, my first job to 75 was Corsair, and I knew virtually nothing of melee gear. I was extremely proud of myself when I got my full Pahluwan set. I saw the Denali set had a higher accuracy bonus (or at least comparible, forgive my memory), and I knew I wanted to clear Nyzul Isle. I got a group of friends together, and we climbed up and spammed floors until most of us got what we wanted before a couple members started bickering and caused a feud that destroyed the static.

To be honest, on runs, my static got Denali to drop pretty easily - and I even, in between my static runs, went on a couple of random boss fights and got Denali 1/1.

While, in retrospect, some of my gear choices may have been poor, at this point, I still see no reason to part with the Bonnet.

And, really, this conversation isn't about me and my bonnet. All I'm trying to do is explain to people that the bonnet isn't BAD. It might not be optimal, but no one is a crappy player for using it (UNLESS, YES, THEY HAVE BOTH).

I guess, but you should still get a turban. :<

Unless you have no DD jobs, and even if so, should have a Turban anyways. If you use yours for quickdraw or something, that's cool, but if you ever melee on cor (merits for example) you're going to want turban.

20k isp, is not a big deal for the improvement. 1% haste costs 15m in the form of dusk gloves+1, where as you can get it for 20k isp here. It's a *** steal!
