Contractors are taking forever to finish rebuilding my front steps >.> They destroyed them Monday, supposed to be done Tuesday, its Thursday and I see no progress!

Really? I've never had any problem except when you only know one word in one language and not in another, but that's no different than just studying one foreign language and not knowing the word.
I just have the occasional slip when I'm reading Japanese and try to read all the kanji in Chinese. XD
I had this problem in Chinese!
I knew it in Japanese but, not in Chinese.

Most natives don't actually follow grammar either, like we do in American English.

Most natives don't actually follow grammar either, like we do in American English. I mean, Japanese sentence structure and honorifics aren't easy in my opinion. I've got friends in all levels of Japanese and all of them agree the grammar is tricky to learn. Especially compared to Chinese anyway (speaking of simple grammar). <__< We could all just be dumb though.

If you want to learn it correctly, it can be difficult. (Which, I assume Vanderbilt emphasizes.)
For example, let us use 「やった！」：
In Japanese, a single verb can be used as a complete sentence~
Yatta! 『やった！』）→ "[I / we / they / etc] did [it]!"
Another way of saying it is by adding [noun] then「が」：
Kare ga yatta. 『彼がやった。』Kare ga yatta. → "He did it."
I usually go the long route but, I get lazy some times. ^^;

"A poll from CNN this week is the latest to show a majority of Americans in favor of same-sex marriage, with 51 percent saying that marriages between gay and lesbian couples “should be recognized by the law as valid” and 47 percent opposed.
This is the fourth credible poll in the past eight months to show an outright majority of Americans in favor of gay marriage. That represents quite a lot of progress for supporters of same-sex marriage. Prior to last year, there had been just one survey — a Washington Post poll conducted in April 2009 — to show support for gay marriage as the plurality position, and none had shown it with a majority.
As we noted last August, support for gay marriage seems to have been increasing at an accelerated pace over the past couple of years. Below is an update to the graph from last year’s article, which charts the trend from all available public polls on same-sex marriage going back to 1988."
