As far as my name... Paul, not a big fan of it. Always felt to simple for me. I like Dorian. That's a cool name. I like things different then the norm I guess. The thing that drives me a little nuts is when people as if its my real name at work and they look at my name tag. I share the same name as a celtic basketball player. Gets old real fast.
As for Socal, I uses to live in Mission Viejo Orange County and left because I just couldn't afford it any more.
Beside living in AZ next to my best friend is awesome.

Typical names here in the United States are my favourite. Shawn, Brian, Ryan, Evan, etc. I do like the name 'Samwise' a lot though too. Sean Ian are two of my favorite names. Rebecca is my fav name for a girl.
My boyfriend's name is Sean. For fun I always try to spell his name in every variation possible. Shawn, Shaun, etc. For some reason a lot of people (in Phoenix at least) think Sean is pronounced "Scene". It drives him crazy! :)~ It's kind of funny that you make that comment because I live in Phoenix area now and was talking to an employee about names and they said they uses to pronounce sean as "Scene" I don't know about anyone else but I never made that mistake.

I hate the name Mike, but I don't know why. It just bothers me.
My biggest pet peeves are people who pronounce it like Michelle (how do you confuse the two, srsly?) and people who want to spell it "Micheal"

Its a repeater name, unpronouncable by people over here lol. I've gotten used to spelling it out though.
To me personally its a boring name.
Traditionally we don't have last names, nor middle names, so we had to make one when we came here (usually the mother's or father's birth name), so its weird getting called by my "last name," which is not my name at all. Tiresome to explain to people lol.

I'm Sheena, and it's another one of those come again name. Calling for taxis/coffee always seems to get my name as Gina or Tina etc. My name is all right I guess, it's a play on my Chinese name Sze Lok or Si Le, 思樂 (literal translation of Think Happy). I like my English name a lot better than my Chinese one, since if pronounced slightly oddly, it can sound like 'dead already' 死了, or Si can sound like sh*t in Chinese, and it's also part of the name to a popular chainstore slushie...

A lot of Japanese names do the 郎，一，二 thing, whereas stereotypical Chinese names very often do 小，大 instead for some strange reason. The most typical name textbooks use in examples (think... sentences examples using the name John in primary/kindergarten) is 小明。 I'm curious as to what other stereotypical names other cultures/language use.

In Japanese textbook examples, the generic one is 太郎.
