So post your parses then, is my point.

"Oh hey do you parse"
"yes"
"Ok, ty!"

>.> I asked for a reason, as we'd like to see them.

The good news is I did learn a decent amount in this. one question though just to clarify.

Acc is pointless in WS build?

I should simply stack all the STR I can?

I wiff every now and then with Y/G/K so I always was under the impression it was less thaan 95% acc since I'd say I wiff about 10% of the time.

Pointless 99.9% of the time, yes spam str. You'd say you whiff about 10% of the time because you're eyeballing it. Get a parser.

If I recall correctly, the margin of error is very small with one hit weapon skills. Therein lies the beauty of being able to stat-stack to your heart's content. You wouldn't be able to do that with WSes like Penta Thrust, Rampage, Asuran Fists or even Drakesbane.

As far as the "Parse debate"

I get out of work in 1 hr if you'd like Frisk I can join you in a quick Meripo and you can show them the results....

At best I would only make your stats seem better as I am pretty rusty with Sam in Merit's :D

I make average chumps look bad in Parse... but sadly they are really the ones making themselves look bad...

And I kinda feel like it gives me a false sense of playing to my potential.

I seem to learn/grow more when around players that outshine me.

Anyone care to post a link to a good working parser?

let me get this straight, so that we're on the same page, i'm agreeing with you that i parse capped ACC in a merit pt
i'm also saying that i don't parse outside of that

but you want to see my parses?
again i'm agreeing with you that i parse merit pt but not outside
i'm a little confused here

yea, I misread it. So you're eyeballing then, which brings me back to my original point, of it not amounting to anything.

Also, you don't have a sam set on your profile, just a MNK TP, but I see your current equip as full usu sam. May want to consider changing that, as the set is not the best for sam (I have both mnk and sam, mix and match on sam, full usu on mnk)

Nah, I hardly play anymore. I only log on for events or if a friend needs help w/ something. I'm about done w/ the game rly other than going on cause I'm bored. Relic would accomplish nothing at this point, as I wouldn't rly have a use for it. I have all the non relic gear I want, my merits are capped on all 5 jobs with no desire to lv another (merit limitations), ect.

My old time solution to that was to be a Santa Claus to newbies that needed a helping hand. Teach them the ropes, get them their SJ, maybe buy them something cheap but would be awesome for their class/level.

I got great satisfaction out of that granted they weren't ungrateful little ***.

Sorry, kinda off topicish...
Looking at your merits (assuming they are up to date) and your gear (store TP+11) I can see you aren't getting a 6-hit. May I suggest ditching askar body for a hauby for that ACC which you are asking about?..... unless you REALLY love that +2 att 2% da and eva...

@Xenhas, Askar doesn't even give +2 Attack. the STR added, even on NQ Haubergeon, adds up to at least 13 Attack. 13 or 14 depending on how much Attack you have without it. So in that respect, it's still better. All Askar adds is the +2% DA if you don't go from 7- to 6-hit.

Askar does have 2 attack on NQ haubergeon. 5 str on each gains the same attack from both. Askar has 12 attack, where as nq bergeon has 10. the difference will be 2.

As far as Askar goes, I really don't approve. It's a cheap man's Hauby if you ask me. Sure, the Double Attack and Evasion certainly don't hurt, but in all honesty, the Haubergeon +1 will always, ALWAYS out preform it. If I didn't have the money for a Haubergeon +1, then I would use Askar. Because It looks cooler than a NQ Haubergeon, lol. I maintain my 6-hit by using Hachiman kote +1 & Rajas. Why? Because I don't have Usukane, fool!

My question to all of you SAM's out there:

Hachiman Kote +1 & Fuma Sune-ate or....

Dusk Gloves & Hachiman Sune-ate?

(This is assuming that Usukane gear is out of reach.)

SAMs with Rajas no longer need to make that choice with Rose Strap being involved now. Dusk and Haste feet are completely possible with a 6-hit!

Bear in mind that in Dyna-Xarc you have Hecatomb Wave (blind) and Perfect Dodge etc flying all over the place so this could impact your results. That said, I still consistently got 95% with Spinning Slash with nonmeritted Greatsword so ...

Vegetto, this afternoon I'd like to PM you if you don't mind. I'm having issues with getting the parser working on my home computer with Windows 7. I'm trying to parse different gear for girlfriend's MNK.

This also goes to anyone else who can help me.

This works well for me. Upgrades would be justice torque/black tathlum/V-belt. If your not rich you can ditch the PCC for chiv chain and use a +5 acc ring instead and use NQhaub. If you have the gil though this is the best haste/acc non Usu setup I know of.

JTorque is not an upgrade... at best its a side grade.

If you need acc PCC is better, if you are capped then the Torque is better but in situations where you are capped you should probably consider using a Polearm.

Gorgets > Torque for WS.

But otherwise a damn solid SAM.

Rose strap + echporia ring is the best combo for 6hit and non capped accuracy (though capping acc askar/pole grip)

As for the pm, go ahead mohawky!

I just started looking over my SAM TP/WS gear setup when I read that and I just wanted to ask peoples opinions on this potential gear setup (with 4 STP Merits, as a non-sam main, I don't get to play it much ._.).

TP Phase

Total STP: 25 + 11 + 8 = 44
Total TP/hit: 16.5
Total TP/5 hits: 82.5

WS Phase

Total STP: 25 + 26 + 8 = 59
Total TP/hit: 18.2

Total TP Gained (5*TP + 1*WS): 82.5 + 18.2 = 100.7
