Awhile ago i had to reinstall windows on my computer. And now it refuses to update .NET Framework. I got ver 1.1(LOL) that comes with the XP version i got. I've tried everything from updating thru windows update to downlaoding it separate, and tried several different versions. But every installation fails.

It's really annoying since some programs requires a newer version of .NET Framework to be installed. Anyone had a simillar problem, and if so, how did you fix it?

yes, I've tried about every version that is out. it just refuses to install it. Most of the time i get an error message that says the file couldnt get extracted or something like that.

also try to uninstall your net framework, then update.

1. Close all programs.
2. Click Start button, and then click Control Panel.
3. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
4. In the tasks panel, click Turn Windows features on or off.
5. In the list of windows features, clear check mark next to .Net frame work.
6. You receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes.
7. Restart.
8. Now download update and install it.
9. Now open Turn Windows features on or off and place a check mark next to .Net framework.
10.Restart.

Ok well, I cant unistall any windows components either. getting the error message:

"Can not copy the file evntagnt.dll"

Everytime i try it tells me another file cant be copied, evntwin.exe for an example.

I have a HP computer so XP was pre installed or whatever you call it, but i have also tried to copy the files from 2 other XP cd's as well. Just seems like my XP is all *** up. /sigh!
