I've posted a few times italian songs, but never actually something from my region! Neapolitan music has a very long tradition(and it's where the stereotype of 'pizza and mandolin' stems from), many beautiful love songs in our folkore and this is one of my favourite(written in 1900, sang by the best artist of traditional songs we have around)

Translation: I would like to kiss you
Ah! What a nice fresh air...
The scent of rose mallow...
And you are sleeping
On these rose leaves
The sun bit by bit
Rises on this garden
The wind passes by and kisses
This little curl on your forehead
I would like to kiss you
I would like to kiss you
But my heart can't bring itself
To wake you up
To wake you up
I would like to fall asleep
I would like to fall asleep
Next to your breath
For an hour with you
For an hour with you
You sleep oh my rose
And you sleep deeply
While I look bewitched
At these coral lips
And this fresh flesh
And these black braids
They put in my heart
Thousands naughty thoughts
I would like to kiss you
I would like to kiss you
But my heart can't bring itself
To wake you up
To wake you up
I would like to fall asleep
I would like to fall asleep
Next to your breath
For an hour with you
For an hour with you
I feel this heart of yours
Beating like the waves
While you sleep, my angel
Who knows who you're dreaming of
Jealousy torments
This ill heart of mine
Do you dream of me? Tell me
Or do you dream of another?
I would like to kiss you
I would like to kiss you
But my heart can't bring itself
To wake you up
To wake you up
I would like to fall asleep
I would like to fall asleep
Next to your breath
For an hour with you
For an hour with you
